Lenovo laptop price and coupons don’t add up…

    Posted: 03 Apr 2022 10:05 PM PDT

I'm buying this specific laptop for school, and I feel like I'm getting duped. The original posted price is $909, and according to Lenovo's website, it's 29% off right now so its sale price is $639.99. There's a coupon code for 22% off and then Lenovo offered me another $100 off for signing up to their newsletter which of course I did bc that's a lot.

The other pic shows the subtotal being $1,029.98 which isn't even the original price of $909, and THEN they deducted my coupons from it. As you can see, it literally made no difference with the total price.

Has anyone else run into this with Lenovo? It feels deceptive and I'm kind of tempted to contact them with the breakdown above after I purchase it.

There are two pictures so you'll have to click on the Imgur link to see both. Thanks!

Laptop BSODs if it doesn’t have monitor connected

    Posted: 03 Apr 2022 10:01 PM PDT

I've been using my laptop (Lenovo Y520-15IKBN) with an external monitor for the past few months. Now when I try to boot it up without the monitor, it goes till the Lock Screen and freezes then proceeds to BSOD with Critical process died or machine check exception error. When I try restarting it with monitor plugged in, it works fine. Anyone know what the issue could be?

Are there any upgrades to a Dell Inspiron N5010?

    Posted: 03 Apr 2022 09:47 PM PDT

I want to buy a new laptop or pc but they are expensive, so I was wondering if there was any type of upgrade to my laptop other than RAM, since it's very old I don't think there are any but there is a guy saying I can upgrade to an Intel7-640m, here are the specs if they help:

    Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M 380 @ 2.53GHz 2.53 GHz

Installed RAM 8.00 GB (7.80 GB usable)

System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

    Graphics Intel(R) HD Graphics

¡AYUDAME! if your budget was $600 what laptop would you invest in??????

    Posted: 03 Apr 2022 09:28 PM PDT

    It would be used for mostly remote work like emails, meetings, Google apps, and educational courses! I know NOTHING about laptops, but I know I want the highest quality for my budget of course. Touchscreen is nonnegotiable so I was torn between a "2 in 1" or straight up laptop with touchscreen? I have 3 models in mind after quick research;

    • Google - Pixelbook Go 13.3" Touch-Screen Chromebook - Intel Core m3 - 8GB Memory - 64GB Solid State Drive • Microsoft - Surface Laptop Go - 12.4" Touch-Screen - Intel 10th Generation Core i5 - 8GB Memory - 128GB Solid State Drive • HP - ENVY 2-in-1 15.6" Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - 256GB SSD

thank you so much for any and all help:)

ACER Nitro 5 Question! (Is it worth it?)

    Posted: 03 Apr 2022 08:25 PM PDT

    Hi there!

First time posting on here. I have an opportunity to grab this laptop for $700 "Like New" (used for less than 20 hours). Having built a few desktops in the past, I like to think I have somewhat decent knowledge about parts but I'm not as knowledgeable about laptops. Would this be worth the pickup?

For usage context, probably a decent amount of gaming (The Witcher 3, Horizon Zero Dawn, etc)

TLDR: is this worth $700 "Like New"?

    Asus Expertbook B3 Flip (B3402)

    Posted: 03 Apr 2022 07:50 PM PDT

I am looking at this model because it's a rare laptop with LTE module and solid (non-hinged) RJ45 port, along with a good processor and ram upgradability.

Does anyone have experience with the B3?

    Thank you!

Is there supposed to be a magnet, or magnetic material in my laptop? I thought magnets destroy the them. I know nothing about computer tech, and almost nothing about how to actually use them. Just a high schoolers knowledge…at 37 years old lol

Laptop only turn on if unplugged and only works with external monitor and keyboard

    Posted: 03 Apr 2022 07:07 PM PDT

    Hey,

    I have a Acer Predator, model PH315-52, with a rtx 2060, win10, i7-9750H.

I recently noticed that my laptop wont turn on if is connected to energy. It goes into a reset cycle by itself, turning on and off.

I have to turn him on disconnected to energy, and only after that, plug him to energy.

Besides, his display and keyboard doesnt works either, requiring a monitor and external keyboard. But the PREDATOR logo appears when I turn him on, going dark after that.

Strangely, the windows key doesnt work even in the external keyboard.

In addition, playlists on any place (Spotify, Youtube, Windows Media Player) changes tracks automatically.

I tried to update to windows 11, and format the system too, but the problem persists. I searched the web and couldnt find a similar case.

    Someone knows what is happening?

1500USD Budget For a University Laptop

1500USD Budget For a University Laptop

    Hi Guys,

I have been saving money for the past while and now have a budget for a 1500USD laptop. I plan to use it for occasional gaming (Like COD and FH5), but mostly for University (I'm going into business, so a num pad is a must). I think I found a good option; Dell Inspiron 16 Plus. It has an i711800h, 16GB ram (upgradable) , 1TB SSD (upgradable), RTX 3060, a 16inch 3k display and a umpad. Is this a good option for 1500USD? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Would a GTX 1050 and 8GB DDR4 RAM be a good trade for a 2015 MacBook with screen damage?

    Posted: 03 Apr 2022 04:00 PM PDT

I message a guy on Facebook and he said he'd trade his 2015 MacBook with screen damage for my GTX 1050 and 8gb DDR4 ram. It seems like a decent deal, as he needs a graphics card and a ram upgrade, and I would like to have a MacBook for school. I was thinking I could buy a new screen on eBay for like $100 and could replace it myself, though I don't know how hard it'd be.

The MacBook specs are listed below:

(Retina, 12-Inch, Early 2015) Processor: 1,.1 GHz Dual-Core intel Core M Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Startus Disk: OS X Base System Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 5300 1536 MB
