    Dell Inspiron 14(5425) or Lenovo Thinkbook 15 Gen3

    After narrowing down my options and I have came to two models, the Dell Inspiron 14 and Lenovo Thinkbook 15 Gen 3.

    Both of these laptops have similar specs with the only difference is the Thinkbook having a larger battery at 60wh with a 15 inch screen. I don't have any experience with either brand so I'm unsure what to expect in terms of battery life and in general what comes with using such brand of laptops.

    From what I know those two are kinda new models but if anyone has experience with similar models please share them! :) Going to be making a purchase soon.

    Struggling to move files from HDD to SSD

    I tried to move my SATA HDD (that is currently dying with bad sectors) to a SATA SSD with AOMEI Partition Assistant but it keeps failing due to the HDD acting up. I tried using methods like chdsk to fix this but it returned with an error so I dunno what to do. Even tried with the AOMEI Partition assistant to fix this but I don't think it did it properly.

    Someone help me. I don't wanna abandon all my files and focing myself to start all over again.

    I'm a future college student looking for a 13' laptop. Price range is at most $1,300 and would like a laptop that would last 4+ years with pretty good specs. Currently looking at XPS, Surface, and ThinkPad. Any recommendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help!

    i have Asus Rog strix g15 with rtx 3050(95W) but in Mafia 1 definitive edition the gpu usage is very less and it doesn't go beyond 40fps. Does anyone know how to fix it???

    It just seems so grimy lmao, looking from above, every key has crumbs (I eat while watching stuff or working). When it gets too bad and they start sticking, I pry them off and blow out the crumbs, but I dont want to do this anymore bc I recently did this with the command key, and when I reattached it it stayed in a fully depressed position and still only half works.

    All the guides say 'buy isopropyl alcohol and a can of compressed air' but like bro what the only one I can find locally costs $16 and all the reviews say it doesn't work at all 💀. Blowing with my mouth doesn't work without taking off the keys, and even then it wasn't ideal. Could I use a vacuum on the keyboard? is there any chance that it would suck they keys up?

    What should I use on the screen too, cos I dont want to stuff up the finish.

    Slow HP Spectre x360 i7

    I have a HP Spectre x360 i7 with a 1065g7, 16gb memory and a 512gb ssd.

    Recently the device has slowed down and before I consider reformatting I wanted to know if what I'm experiencing may be caused by something else.

    The device has heaps of storage and not much software is installed on it. The device is mainly used for work where everything is web-based via browser. I previously was using Chrome and after opening up 4 browsers the system would slow down a lot. Memory has never hit 100% and it commonly happens when I have Gmail open.

    I have recently moved over to MS Edge but the issue continues. I have cleaned the fans but still suspect that the laptop could be throttling as I did install Hwinfo monitor and the temps do spike to 100 degrees when Gmail opens and then randomly spikes at other instances but only when using the browsers.

    Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    How long of life should you be getting from your laptop? Mine died after a year and 2 months. Bit bummed

    In 2020 I bought the Black Friday Gateway special from Walmart. Came with a 2060 and was pretty much a beast - although it did have the ability to overheat so I had to monitor it

    The power jack died and it's soldered to the motherboard. For the life of me - I can't find the replacement part..

    So looks like it's just dead in the water

    I paid $600 for it. Part of me thinks I should just spend some actual $$ and get like a solid build that won't overheat

    Anyway how long are these things suppose to last?

    Sent my laptop for a screen replacement, now the colors are weaker

    Two weeks ago I sent my laptop for repairs ( if you check my history, you can see I asked for advice here) because the screen was acting up. Well I got it back 2 days ago, and the first thing I noticed was that the colors were all... yellowish? Like, white is not really white. The colors are weaker.

    I tried messing up with all sort of settings, read all the threads I found, confirmed that night mode is indeed off, updated drivers and so on so forth.

    I'm connecting the laptop to my tv and the colors on it are fine, comparing both screens shows that something is wrong with the laptop screen. Heck, the gray from reddit is not even grey it has a yellowish hue.

    Anything I can do to fix this? Thank you for your time.

    windows 11 help please?

    so look i know that i sound like i'm pretty brain dead, i'm pretty sure i am anyway but lets go ahead, whenever i press PrtSc or windows shift and s, it copies to clipboard, its a whole mess, does anyone know how to make it so that, when i take a screen shot, it goes to my photo file instead? any help is appriciated, thank you very much.

    Instagram on Chromebook?

    Dear Chromebook users,

    I'd like to purchase a Chromebook mainly for social media etc. I realize on regular desktops, the Instagram app is pretty similar to the mobile version. But on the desktop version, I can't send a message to an Instagram user directly from their profile, I have to go in the message section and type their name there.

    Another thing is there is no 'contact' button on business profiles on Instagram where you can send an email to the business.

    Is the Instagram app on Chromebook exactly like the app on a tablet or mobile phone?

    How do I get a stripped screw out. The stripped screw is on the plastic cover on the underside of the laptop and it's sttipped. Since it is inside a little hole I can't get it out even with a rubber band or superglue.
