After 10 years being an iPhone user I switched

    Posted: 31 Jan 2022 10:26 PM PST

Searched and searched, got an 11t pro yesterday. How did I suffered so much lately with an Apple device I don't really know (last was iPhone 11). I'm in love with this.

Compared to my iPhone 11 - every single thing is better. I'm impressed with the UI from Xiaomi. It's super clean and neat! The charging speed is out of this world. The screen wow. Sound wow. Speed wow.

The only thing that I wish it was a bit different is the treatment of the photos taken. It could be a bit more yellowish and saturated, I think it is too neutral and on the blueish side of things. But I might get used to that.

Anyways, I was afraid to switch. If this holds like this I should have switched way before.

    Any tips?

    Cheers!

*To mention: I had Apple Watch, still have an iPad Pro (this is solid stuff), MacBook Pro and iPhone. I had every fking Apple device along the years, Mac pros, iMacs, you name it.

Sold Apple watch, MacBook Pro was from work, bought an Asus ZenBook instead for me, still have iPad. I hated Apple lately. I'm a techy guy btw but don't know much about Android - name checks out hehe

***Last thing: You guys complain: "Ohh why did they take the camera away? Ohh why the phone changed this for that?

Well at least Android is moving forward.

All the years in Apple it is cringe to watch the releases. Changes a button: "The Best iPhone ever" (clap clap clap)

Neither them believe this shit anymore I swear

The update almost gave me a heart attack

    Posted: 01 Feb 2022 11:19 AM PST

First I would to thank you the internet for helping me, especially when I've grown attached to the contents on my phone

Anyway to address the experience I had when I decided to update my Redmi 8. I got stuck to 90.49 for a few minutes and of course obviously panicked and got anxious. So as a normal person would do when facing technological issues, I searched online and found a youtube video telling me to turn off my phone, which I don't recommend for reasons I can't explain since idk the technicalities

Anyway, people in the commented that I shouldn't do what the video said (but since yt removed dislikes and I'm a dumbass without it) I tried turning it off since I watched the video first. Of course I used the word "tried" which meant that I wasn't successful in turning it off since I saw a lot of comments telling me to not turn it off

I also saw that someone had to wait 3 hours so I prepared for the wait by charging my phone and taking out my laptop. When I got back to my bed with the laptop, the 90.49 update screen was gone but this time I was stuck to the MIUI screen. I didn't know I was stuck until a few minutes later and became extremely anxious since I attempted to turn it off. So while prepared to lose all data on my phone with low spirits, I searched online again. So people getting stuck to the MIUI screen also happens

This time I saw the answer on a the question thingies on google, it told me to press the power and lower volume button. So I pressed those two buttons for a less than a second, and I reread the instructions and thought I got it wrong again. But no it was fine and the screen dimmed a seconds later and it opened back to my lock screen.

    TL;DR

When stuck to the 90.49 screen

Don't touch the phone, just charge it and be prepared to wait 10-20 minutes minimum and 3 hours maximum. If stuck on the MIUI screen, for my experience I pressed the lower volume button + power button for less than a second and waited. Your screen will dim and will open to the lock screen moments later

Xiaomi Redmi 10 unable to change Bluetooth earphone volume from max volume

    Posted: 01 Feb 2022 01:00 PM PST

Hi, just got this phone today and put in my Bluetooth earphones, pressed play and almost burst my eardrums. Tried turning the volume down but would only turn the phone speaker volume down. It works perfectly fine with an aux chord but Bluetooth isn't working right. Looking for any help appreciated. Thanks

My battery started to heat up pretty fast with normal usage. Note 9

    Posted: 01 Feb 2022 12:43 PM PST

I was just on social media and felt my phone is warm. Check the battery temp is rising quickly 37+°C. And my phone became laggy. Rebooted the phone and left it outside (its winter) to cool it down. Battery is now at 33°C and phone is no longer laggy. Why did that happen?

Applications in miui share dialog are mixed up

    Posted: 01 Feb 2022 08:45 AM PST

If I try to share a link, or an image or whatever, and try to share it for example to reddit, twitter is opened instead.

Otherwise, if I try to share it to whatsapp, the "shareMe" app is opened.

Not all apps are mixed up.

    What should I reset ?

    What phone should I buy?

    Posted: 01 Feb 2022 11:13 AM PST

I'm looking for a budget phone. After being betrayed by Xiaomi services in my country I can't really say that I trust Xiaomi anymore. I had a factory defect on my Xiaomi Mi 10T pro, long story short, it can't be fixed until I personally go to the country from where I bought and let them fix it there. Updates from Xiaomi were hell last year, I lost tons of pictures because of bugs, I was struggling with Massanger and etc. So I'm looking for a phone with a good customer service, with less crash and bugs through the udpates and a decent 8GB RAM.

Do I need to have an active or inactive sim card to be able to unlock boot and install custom rom after waiting period? I am using this as a dedicated handheld so I don’t plan on setting it up for any phone service. I appreciate your time.

    Issue with internet calls

    Posted: 01 Feb 2022 06:32 AM PST

Hello, I recently got a new Xiaomi 11T and I'm very satisfied with it. There's just one small issue I can't wrap my head around:

After anywhere from ~15 minutes to an hour into an internet call (on apps like WhatsApp, Telegram and Line) either I stop hearing the other person or they stop hearing me. At this point if I hang up and recall on the same app, the problem will persist; however it will disappear if the call is made in a different app. And then the same thing will happen until we switch to another app again (or to the one that was used to begin with).

I'm honestly so confused. I tested this with a few people and across both Wifi networks and my mobile network, it always happens.

Anybody got any clue what this is about? Thanks in advance!
