Need help with Automate (LlamaLabs) Posted: 21 Feb 2022 03:56 AM PST Hi! Im TOTALLY new to automate and i have little to no coding experience, so this is a long shot. Im looking to use automate to start a gyro data logging app recording data after being triggered by a camera control app saying that a camera connected via bluetooth is recording. Essentially i want the gyro app to start recording data once the camera connected to bluetooth starts recording. Is this possible? Also for those who are curious what its the data is for - it's for video stabilization in post with a software called GyroFlow (like reelsteady but works with any camera). Thanks for reading! :) [link] [comments] |
I found an alternative app for icebox or any apps that disable applications after use Posted: 21 Feb 2022 03:12 AM PST Hey, While using some apps that can't be force stopped, I just found out a cool application against icebox, etc. It can disable any applications after closing foreground. It's called FreezeYou! looks like it's made by Chinese developers and it's working great. I don't have any contacts with the developer. I'm leaving links below and looks like the application is clean to me. Also, I'm open to other suggestions if you would like to share. [link] [comments] |

Brightness app that works over pop up windows? Posted: 20 Feb 2022 07:04 PM PST I use a brightness app called Dimmer, it is great, but it does not turn down the area of a pop up window. So from what I got, when I installed the app it asked me to let it run over other apps/the whole screen. Apps like new pipe and VLC ask the same permission to open pop up windows, so I'm thinking they're on the same level of priority and the phone doesn't let the dimmer work over the pop up area. I'm looking for an app that has a higher priority over pop ups making them dim but still working. I don't know if there's any relation but twitch pop ups are dimmed by the app on my phone, but to be fair I don't think twitch asked the over other apps permission. Anyways, the app needs to work on Android 8, anyone knows of anything that might work? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Feb 2022 03:54 PM PST I found this app called Ruler on Google Play today. It doesn't have any permissions and you can calibrate it with a coin. [link] [comments] |
App that can help go see things in my area that I would otherwise never see? Posted: 20 Feb 2022 05:03 PM PST I'm looking for an app that would get me out of the house and go do/see things that I'd never normally think about. One that would maybe show points of interest or something on a map I wouldn't ever think about seeing, or activities nearby that I wouldn't normally try. Does anyone know if something like this exists? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Feb 2022 11:25 PM PST Also another thing.... in MiXplorer there is another option of ftp server when i activate it it gives me an ftp link which when i type in my computer/phone's file manager it opens folder's of the phone. But the problem is i have to type long ass ftp link each time and it changes almost everytime. So is there a way to detect MiXplorer's ftp/tcp in computer easily... P.S. I don't want to install any new app in my phone but i can install necessary software in my pc if it's necessary. [link] [comments] |
Technician ticketing apps that work with ServiceNow Posted: 21 Feb 2022 05:00 AM PST I'm an IT Tech working for a very large, public organization that uses ServiceNow as their main ticketing software, KB, and basically everything that SNow offers. We're given work phones to use however the below example problem makes them essentially useless. Because of the size of the organization, asking for a simple change or bug fix is multiple hour long meetings, department heads getting involved, and we're publicly funded so it also has to go out to the public for any changes. Spending funds on bug fixes? F that.. As an example, a user creates a ticket using the website and they enter a serial number into the configuration item. That information when the ticket is saved, doesn't transfer over to the mobile app properly, so in order to see the serial number of the machine I'm there to work on properly, I have to load it up on my laptop. I asked for this to be fixed 2.5 years ago, and the ticket is still open and being looked into. Are there apps that I can access my ticket piles with, that is not the official app by ServiceNow? I am willing to pay for a decent app that lets me close my tickets without having to slug around a 10 year old lead weight work laptop. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Feb 2022 04:51 AM PST Is there a media player that lets you crop (not stretch) videos to a custom legel while playing them. I'm not talking about cropping and saving another copy of it with an editor program, just doing it while the original copy is playing. VLC and mx player can't do this and neither have a few others I've tried, surely this is possible ? [link] [comments] |
Security: What exactly do app permissions allow the app to do? Posted: 21 Feb 2022 04:20 AM PST For example, I want to download a security camera app. It asks permissions to access photos, media, phone, location. Does that mean it can go in there and see all of my pictures (even private ones)? Can it go in and alter, change, steal without my permission? How does that all work? thanks [link] [comments] |
Browser which syncs with desktop Posted: 20 Feb 2022 05:31 PM PST Hi I'm looking for a browser which syncs my bookmarks etc between my phone and my laptop. I've always used Chrome on my pc up until now. Chrome for Android is ok but not the best. I've tested Firefox which is great except for 1 thing - on Android accessing the bookmarks is way too much of a pain. It takes about 4 or 5 clicks before you're actually in the correct bookmarks menu and even then it doesn't remember which bookmark folder you last accessed (one thing Chrome does) so you have to go through that every time. It's a shame because it would be perfect otherwise. Any suggestions appreciated [link] [comments] |

Lawn Companion - A lawn care app that facilitates a worry-free cutting season! Posted: 20 Feb 2022 03:21 PM PST Hey, I have been working on this idea for a while now and have finally published it to the Google Play Store. Lawn Companion decides on an ideal time to cut your lawn based on local weather forecast data and the timing of your previous lawn cut. When the weather is suitable, you will receive a notification when the lawn can be cut. You can create, view, and delete cut entries made in the app on the go with ease. You can view the source code here. Please give it a try for this upcoming cutting season. Thanks! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mbw101.lawn_companion&hl=en [link] [comments] |

App that lets me play a specific audio file without turning on the screen. Posted: 20 Feb 2022 05:35 PM PST So I haven't slept a full night in ages and I want to be able to play a sleep/relaxation script WITHOUT looking at my phone screen in the middle of the night. It will be a normal audio file. I require that I can play just this one file without unsleeping my phone. I imagine I might have to rig this app to double tapping one of my volume buttons or something. Thanks! [link] [comments] |

How can I make a backup of an APK? Posted: 20 Feb 2022 02:39 PM PST Today, the popular and best Nintendo DS emulator DraStic, has disappeared from the App Store, and backup versions of the app has been modified in an attempt to crack them but they are filled with annoying bugs. So I want to back up the latest version I had installed on a phone. Thankfully its actually rooted, so do you guys know of any method to back it up so I don't have to deal with a potentially damaged version of it on the Internet? [link] [comments] |
