My air purifier 3h started making weird noise, it can be clearly heard on low speed. I am sure it's not a small fan. Did anyone else had this problem?

    MIUI appreciation post. ✨

    Posted: 26 Jan 2022 12:10 AM PST

Let me start by saying that yes, slow updates and bugs are a problem and i acknowledge that.

Moving to the bigger picture here, my redmi note 7 pro recently broke forcing me to buy a new phone. I wanted to buy the Xiaomi 11i (i would've if they released it as redmi note 11 pro itself), but at that moment realme had the best price to performance in my opinion and i bought the realme gt master edition for 21k INR. (Actually a 28k phone).

This is when i really started to miss and appreciate MIUI. There subtle features, that improves quality of life that i miss. The subtle but beautiful animations. Even the settings UI. The simplest things like showing your daily data usage (color os can do this only if you set a daily limit) or being able to answer call during a game without being switched to the phone app (still doing think color os has this). Even the subtle storage animation or the 120 hz vs 60 hz animation. MIUI is lovely and actually very user friendly. (Atleast in my opinion). I've even download a few notification sounds from MIUI cause frankly they're better.

Sure it's not perfect (yet), but think of how far it's come. I've started my phone at MIUI 10 and got till MIUI 12. It's improved so much more and it will continue to do so. Who knows maybe in a few days we'll get more frequent bug-less updates.

So yeah, if there people in this subreddit who shits on MIUI like I did. (i hated the slow updates) I guess you'll only realise how amazing something is when you lose it. I genuinely miss using MIUI.

Watched the miui 13 global launch. There is nothing. It's just the same as 12.5.

    Posted: 26 Jan 2022 04:56 AM PST

And I came to know now only . That miui 13 is actually based on Android 11 not 12.

MIUI 13 Global Stable ROM: Release Schedule

    Posted: 26 Jan 2022 05:00 AM PST

User installed apps use abnormally high ram on rooted Redmi Note 10s, MIUI 12.5

    Posted: 26 Jan 2022 05:33 AM PST

    Greetings,

I noticed that the multitasking experience is terrible on my newly purchased Redmi note 10s, 6gb ram, with rooted MIUI 12.5 : I hardly keep 4 regular apps running.

After checking running apps (under manage apps), I found out that some use absurdly high ram, like just launching YouTube Vanced can eat up to 600+ mb ram before even playing a video.

Chrome with a single tab on google homepage, eats up around 500+mb and keeps closing tabs once I switch to another one.

On my brother's OnePlus 8 pro, Android 11, chrome with one tab on google homepage uses around 200 mb, and YouTube Vanced uses 170 mb ram.

On my father's Redmi Note 8 2019 Edition, MIUI 12.5, a similar memory consumption scheme is found there too, with the phone struggling in multitasking with its 4gb ram.

Is this normal? is it a memory leak? Could it be possibly caused by root? Or is it caused by MIUI memory Management ? or perhaps Mediarek is less optimized in multitasking than Snapdragon?

I would be very grateful for sharing your experiences and ideas.

keywords : high ram usage, multitasking, optimization, MIUI, 12, 12.5, Mediatek, memroy leak, root

Redmi Note 9 restarts with Mi Recovery every time

    Posted: 26 Jan 2022 03:02 AM PST

My Redmi Note 9 phone, which I bought in 2020, loads Mi Recovery every second, now almost every time I restart or turn it on, so I need several minutes to turn it on. Plus, it restarts randomly on a regular basis, and there was once when it turned off suddenly and I was able to breathe life into it after half an hour (in these cases, it didn't load Recovery). What could be done with this, if anything at all?

Do you think there will be another phone like the Xiaomi Mi 11 pro? Would you buy that?

    Posted: 26 Jan 2022 05:58 AM PST

I have a mi 9t, and I'm pretty happy with it, there are a few things I'd like that would make me upgrade, mainly ip rating, 120 refresh rate and wireless charging, and that back screen looks very cool (and useful for content creation), its just the mi 11 pro looks a bit unpolished, all I'm waiting for is a phone like the mi 11 pro but with the new snapdragon 8 gen. and hopefully it will be a lot more refined, how long do you think it would take for the release of that? would you be excited to see that? would you upgrade to something like that?

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 still shows push notifications of sms by blocked number

    Posted: 26 Jan 2022 01:51 AM PST

Hi, I blocked a guy´s number last year and although I blocked his number for both calls and texts I still get a push notification whenever he sends me a text saying *70 new messages on your blacklist*. Is there a way to turn this off? I thought blocking him means his texts get rejected and I really don´t want to receive any information about his harrassment anymore. Thanks in advance!

    MI A1 WIFI ISSUE

    Posted: 25 Jan 2022 11:24 PM PST

I'm not able to get good wifi connection on my MI A1. Like..even the webpages would not load. And when I disconnect and then reconnect to the network, it works fine. But its very annoying. Also, I've noticed that there isn't any issues when I'm doing things like playing an online game or say attending a meeting on Google Meet. Its like if you're not using the internet, it becomes stagnant and I have to toggle the wifi switch to make it work. Any solutions for this?

Anyone managed to fix the Wifi Signal issue on Poco M3 ?

    Posted: 26 Jan 2022 12:37 AM PST

I would like to know if anyone managed to find a fix for the wifi signal issue on Xiaomi Poco M3. Just making sure since I'm gonna sell this sh*t very soon. MIUI bugs are so irritating & I can't wait for another update (been patient for all 2 updates, 12.5.1 being the latest, but nothing has improved).

Wifi Call is choppy when phone is asleep/locked

    Posted: 25 Jan 2022 08:52 PM PST

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. On both Skype and Discord, my friends have told me the audio sounds choppy whenever I try to speak to them on WiFi while my screen is off/phone is locked. Switching to 4G, the call sounds fine to them when screen is off/phone locked.

However when I switch to WiFi, the sound is clear as long as the screen is left on/phone is unlocked. As soon as the screen sleeps or I lock the phone, they mention it sounds bad again.

Is there a setting I need to change to remedy this issue? I've restarted the modem/router and I know its not a WiFi issue as the call is perfectly fine as long as the screen is on/phone is unlocked. As soon as it does sleep/lock, suddenly the issue occurs and only on WiFi.

Battery saver setting maybe? I'm not sure what it could be. Any help appreciated.
