Just received $100 google play gift card from a family friend. HOWEVER, I don’t have any android device.

    Posted: 27 Jan 2022 02:32 PM PST

Long story short, I redeemed the gift card from a link and it automatically put it in my Gmail account.

But I don't have an android phone. Instead, I have an iPhone.

Is there anything I can purchase that'll benefit me as an iPhone user? I already have a steady stream of books from Audible and Kindle, and movies, TV shows from Netflix and HBO streaming services.

What else can I use google play store credit for?

A simple, useful and free Shopping List app that I've made

    Posted: 27 Jan 2022 09:32 AM PST

Hey everyone! I'd like to show you my first Android project - a Shopping List app.

The app lets you quickly create a shopping list on your phone, keep items organized and also share the list you've made. It's pretty basic at the moment, but I'm going to constantly update it over time!

You can check it out on Play Store here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.decosoft.shoppinglist

    Any suggestions are welcome 🙂

Glass It: Price Tracker on Android [DEV]

    Posted: 27 Jan 2022 01:05 PM PST

CamelCamelCamel and Keepa are well known for working with Amazon on desktop (Amazon doesn't allow it on mobile afaik). I developed Glass It for different platforms, but I'm interested in knowing what you think about the Android version?

Copy/paste an item's URL into Glass It mobile app and wait for a price drop notification. If you enable push notifications, then personalized price history is shown in your Glass It account which is based on the data collected via push notifications, and driven by the price drop alerts you receive.

Glass It works with all Amazon locales, and other websites too like HomeDepot, Walmart, Target, Flipkart, and more. Supports different currencies as well.

Here's the Play Store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.glass.glassit

A big difference between some of the similar apps I've seen is monitoring isn't fully automated in that items must first be approved before they can be monitored. Registration is required since the price history data collected is organized and displayed publicly (and free) to anyone who wants to lookup online price history. I coupled the scraped price history to push notifications received by verified users so it would be verified users helping to collect/organize price history, and not just automated web scraping since it could be inaccurate if no one is overseeing each item's price history. Also to make it easier to identify someone's item(s) and provide support. I didn't want to pop open an in app browser in the mobile app because I've asked around and while it's convenient, some people expressed concerns about privacy and especially caching account information.

    Bookmory : reading tracker

    Posted: 27 Jan 2022 10:41 PM PST

I am very happy to share my creation with this community 😀
I made an application called Bookmory. It allows you to track your books.

It helps you track reading, manage your books, build a lasting reading habit, and better remember what you read.

    The app is free.

Free screen recording software for android recommendations

    Posted: 27 Jan 2022 07:42 PM PST

-I just want a free up to date screen recording app to use on my phone

-most of the apps I found had so many features that can only be used if I buy the premium version

-I already know about the MNML screen recorder but based on my research it looks like abandonware

Poweramp Equalizer app audio focus and volume issue

    Posted: 27 Jan 2022 09:31 PM PST

I have an LG G7 on Android 9.

To avoid confusion, this isn't about low volume from adjusting frequencies. It's more so that if I get a call, text message or anything that "interrupts" the audio, the volume gets lowered and stays lowered. I also have the Newpipe app when I switch from playing a video in the foreground to the background, it does the same thing

That's why I feel it's an audio focus issue. I should mention this only happens with the Poweramp Equalizer app since I gave it permission to control volume for other apps.

This only happened after installing Poweramp Equalizer app. This is the latest version and I purchased the premium version from the Play Store.

I emailed the developers and they said to change the audio focus settings in the apps but those apps do not have that option. I looked in the settings of the Poweramp Equalizer app as well but nothing.

Anyone else having the same issue?

    Basic incoming call management app

    Posted: 27 Jan 2022 07:08 PM PST

I work for a service company with regular business hours. Occasionally I'm on call to deal with emergencies, but tend to get a lot of nuisance calls that I can't help people with anyways. Ie people wanting to pay their bills, or book an appointment etc... Hopefully some app exists that could answer calls, play a recorded message and wait for input from the caller ("press 1 for emergencies") before alerting me.

Does anyone know of an app like this? Or if it's even possible?

App for non-automatic file sync between Android and Windows

    Posted: 27 Jan 2022 02:17 PM PST

Hi, I'm looking for a free app that lets you sync files between Android and Windows but doesn't constantly run on the background and only syncs when the user demands it. What would be the best app of this kind?

    Trying to identify this app

    Posted: 27 Jan 2022 02:03 PM PST

Friend appears to be getting GPS tracked by her ex, she managed to sneak this photo of the app he uses.

We're trying to identify the app, to try and narrow down what it's tracking (phone or lojack for example).

Adding homescreen shortcut to zone launcher

    Posted: 27 Jan 2022 01:56 PM PST

I'm using zone launcher to open contacts, and in trying to add a signal contact as a shortcut

But signal doesn't have an option to create a shortcut in zone launcher here https://i.imgur.com/enpqm04.jpg

Signal does let you create a homescreen shortcut to contacts , so I'm wondering how to add this homescreen shortcut into zone launcher?

App/service that is a great substitute of standard mobile services providers? (Calls + mobile internet)

    Posted: 27 Jan 2022 01:35 PM PST

Now, I am aware one could by Skype credits and call cell phone numbers and land lines worlwide, but I was thinking if there is a service that could substitute your local mobile provider as a whole - and to provide you with mobile data as well. I kind of that the latter really exists, but let's see.

So, in short, instead of paying to a local national provider, paying to a global company like Skype and the like, for both calls and mobile web data....
