    My package was totally empty

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 05:39 AM PST

I opened the Galaxy Buds Pro that I ordered for my husband for Christmas and the box was empty. Samsung is refunding me, however I ordered them with a vacuum so they only came out to $50 with the bundle. They gave me a promo code of 5% off my next order however they'de still cost over $160 if I reorder them. This sort of happened before. I pre-ordered the Flip 3 and got a free watch and Buds but then had to return it because the screen was defective so I lost all my preorder deals and free year of Care+. I switched from Apple and love the Samsung products so far, but their customer service is severely lacking.

Should we be worried about S22Ultra availability?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 04:46 PM PST

With the current chip shortage and scalping going on in certain consumer electronics will availability or scalping be a issue with this phone. I wanna know if it's gonna be a struggle to get or will I be able to go into my network provider and just buy it outright.

What are the chances s22 ultra will have note 20 bronze color

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 04:27 PM PST

IMO, the note 20 ultra bronze was peak phone premium color. It wasnt gold which imo is a bad color since everyone knows it's not real gold. It was as bland as white or black. It was the color of copper - bronze. And those rings around the cameras. What a beauty.

What are the chances we'll see bronze color on the s22 ultra?

Getting an s21 Ultra through Walmart or Verizon retailer.

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 07:52 PM PST

So Walmart wants $1,499 for the phone but will only charge me $29 a month for 30 months.

Verizon retailer wants $1,299 for the phone but will charge me $44 a month for 30 months.

Both places offer the same Verizon phone plans.

Does anyone know the pros and cons of using one over the other, besides the obvious price difference?

    About Galaxy upgrade program

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 07:16 PM PST

So I was wondering what the upgrade program was. Is it just the trade in program with a new name? I was thinking of doing it with the s22 series. But I don't know a lot about it. And I don't know if there is any specific information about it.

    Samsung QN90a Remote

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 04:43 PM PST

There are incredibly minimal buttons on this remote and navigating to any function takes forever. I play a lot of games so I frequently change my inputs and this is amount 7 remote presses each time. Is there a way to program a shortcut of some sort? Any remote upgrades purchasable? I'm coming from an LG OLED and that remote had so much more functionality. Curious if anyone else has found it challenging to adjust to this remote.

How much better is the S21 Ultra than the S20 Fan Edition?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 08:55 PM PST

I've looked at the specifications, and I don't feel there's enough to warrant the difference in their pricing outside of the camera, but I have a good deal I can make use of. Either I can get the S20 FE for free or pay an extra $300 for S21 Ultra. Right now, I'm leaning towards the S20 FE. Is there something I'm missing?

Smart Tag on Cat Collar lost

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 09:22 AM PST

Hello. I've got two cats each with a Samsung smart tag, (not the +) on their collars. I live in a really small close and I know they usually don't go far.

The tags have been perfect for the last two months or so, however when I got home (I've been away the last few days) I noticed one of them was missing their collar and tag.

Checked the smart things app, it was last spotted yesterday morning and after walking around my close over and over searching, I've had no luck in finding it.

So a couple of questions, 1. Will Houses or other obstacles stop the signal? 2. If I let the other cat out tomorrow, will her tag connect to the collar and then alert me that it's been found?

Thanks in advance. I really don't wanna have to buy more of them if I can help it.

Samsung Acces is a JOKE. AVOID

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 10:00 AM PST

I have been charged for 6 months for a Microsoft 365 subscription that I never received. I have called every single samsung support number I can find, and not a single person in their customer support centers knows anything about this program or my code. Please avoid this program, there is zero support available. I can't even imagine what a nightmare this is going to be when I need to upgrade or cancel the program with them. It's such a shame because I love my phone, but this program is a joke, and a bad one at that. Please avoid, avoid, avoid. I never thought I'd hear myself saying this but I may just switch to iPhone.

    Samsung internet

    Posted: 01 Dec 2021 09:21 AM PST

What things in Samsung internet do you really really like and find useful that other browsers don't do, and what do those features do

If any other things in mobile browers you really really like and find useful that other browsers don't do, - or do better, can just add with what do those features do

Here's a few things said so far of mobile:

    Good useful things on mobile

    Someone on internet said

" easier switching between tabs like you can swipe from the bottom to switch between apps.

Any mobile browsers has good easy switching between tabs? How it works in that browser?

Samsung internet: I can drag links to open it in split screen. -Samsungs_do_that

Firefox focus can paste in a link and it auto goes to it

    Safari

Can't paste in a link and it auto goes to it

Has icon on upper right where you can see all tabs opened (grid view)

    Seems possibly useful

Samsung play YouTube videos in full screen no black bars change aspect ratio.-xSolus-X

Not really sure what they meant

    Semi useful things

    • Url bar at bottom makes sense
    • Browers that has this
      • Safari
      • Kiwi
      • Anything else?

    Good useful for poor people

Opera Mini for data compression, when on limited data plan or with poor signal. -niutech

Would Assume all mobile browers would have this especially widely used ones ?

    Trivial minor things

Safari doesn't look for common favicon meta attribute. Which is common and I guess de-facto standart but usually low resolution. Apple software looks for "apple-touch-icon" meta attribute, which is high resolution but Apple specific and not all websites set it.

Edit: I don't know why Safari doesn't fallback into low resolution one. Maybe strategy to force websites to use their attribute and use high res?

Chrome can change how tab icon looks

Someone said dark mode was best on samsung internet, they didn't explain why yet

No, the built-in Chrome dark mode under chrome://flags/#enable-force-dark is much more efficient, because it is implemented in highly optimized C++, whereas Dark Reader web extension is made in JS and runs on every web page load.- niutech

As i said earlier that dark reader has also a static filter that doesn't take much of resource as compared to dynamic one, sure chrome has that built in but it is just darkens the website instead of intelligently customizing that based on site to site, also you can't set custom preferences in chrome's built in dark reader.-UtsavTiwari

Easy to access/use dark mode vidvini dark pages is right there in V menu and you can turn it off/on easily without going to settings.

Things much more useful for desktop than mobile

The ability to save all tabs to bookmarks at one. The only ones that do this are Safari and the DuckDuckGo browser. It's ridiculous that this is a feature that other browsers on mobile don't implement. -NylaTheWolf

    Edge can hide ext icon

    Desktop things

    Not sure if on mobile?

FF has way to disable suggestions from url bar

    Desktop

samcan delete specific cookies of specific sties in all chomr browser

    Things FF mobile cant do

And ofc u can't even delete the cookies of a specific website like every chromium browser on Android let's u do -41percentclub

    Not useful

Firefox focus a **LOT**. I love that it always forgets everything. Makes it the perfect browser for opening all kind of links on my phone. Make everything open in Focus by default, now I feel much more comfortable.

Only when I want to, I open regular Firefox if I care about sessions or longer tab keeping.

Chrome has icon button in UI to share page

Safari added 120Hz refresh rate scrolling support

    Things unclear

opera with it's text wrapping feature,

it means you don't have to move left and right as much to read a screen full of text.

it might've been copied by other browsers by now, I don't use them to know.-DisMaFugger

Doesn't all mobile browsers do this?

When you open sites, doesn't text stay within screen width space?

    Not sure what they meant

    Things dont know

    Tab view

Sarfari recently went grid view and no option to go list view

Not really sure which view is better but seems like grid view would be somewhat better

Chrome seem to have this long ago

If any other things in mobile browers you really really like and find useful that other browsers don't do, can just add with what do those features do

Buds Pro or Buds 2...or other

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 08:46 PM PST

If money was not a factor would you go with the galaxy buds 2 or the buds pro? For me the two biggest things are ANC and comfort for longer periods of time. I am a google pixel 6 user. Thanks!

    One UI 4

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 07:32 AM PST

I was in the beta program and ever since I've been on the stable version I haven't been able to use Google Pay since updating to the stable version this was the same when I was on the Beta program and my Google Pay app every time I open it now says a message saying untrusted device or unrecognised device and It thinks my S21+ is rooted.

Is there anything else I could do apart from a Factory Reset?

    Missing Calendar Colors

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 07:06 PM PST

I opened my Calendar app for the first time in a couple weeks and noticed the color coding for dates has disappeared. Has any figured a way to add colors to dates or am I gonna have to get a new Calendar app? Without colors it's just too difficult to look at a glance without having to open specific dates to see what's on my schedule.

A way to stop ads in Notification Bar

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 11:22 AM PST

I see people recently saying they were annoyed about ads in notification bar. Well if you go to

    Settings>Samsung Profile>Profile Info

Then go to the bottom. There will be a slider which indicates whether they can advertise to you.

Deciding between Galaxy 21 Ultra and Google Pixel 6 Pro

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 11:45 AM PST

    Hi everyone,

First off, I'm a total newbie in the Android realm. After spending a decade with iOS devices, I'm finally switching, looking to buy my first Android phone.

Now, I have two candicates: Galaxy 21 Ultra and Google Pixel 6 Pro. I am enticed to buy Pixel mainly because Android 12 and its capabilities. However, Galaxy seems like a more 'matured' device design- and hardware-wise.

But, being completely new to how Android works, I'm wondering if the Android 12 update for Galaxy 21 Ultra will bring all the features I want from Pixel: Magic Eraser and Live Transcription. Also, will I be able to 'fake' the Pixel 6 home screen with huge numerals?

Sorry if these questions are stupid, but many Android news outlets seem to be oriented on tech savvy people and don't really answer basic topics.

Bad Aux Outputs on Samsung Phones

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 11:14 PM PST

Hey guise, So, I've had quite a few Samsung phones over the years (S2.S3,S4,S5,S6,S7) and literally each and every one of them has had a bad aux output. I.e the connection is bad and when you move around it crackles and in certain positions the audio dies completely.

I asked my friend about it and he said the same thing, each and every one of the Samsung phones hes had has the same problem as well..

I'm thinking about buying an S8 but the bad aux output is a deal breaker for me. So, have you guys had the same experience? Are the Korean aux connectors different in some way? I mean it feels a bit weird that a big player like Samsung hasn't fixed this in like 10 years or whatever.

Also I'm from Sweden, Maybe our European aux connectors are f**ked somehow? I've bought Samsung phones from Australia, USA, Sweden, Germany and it doesn't seem to make a difference. If it's a Samsung phone the aux is bad, every time.

What are your experiences in this? Does the S8 suffer from the same problem? Is there a logical reason behind this and is there a way to work around it?

I love the Samsung phones and I really want a new one but I'm not gonna put up with this one more time

Samsung Galaxy Active 2 for $160 in 2021 worh it?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 08:14 AM PST

    Hey,

I have been looking for a smart watch for a while in a budget and I have been leaning towards samsung because I have a Samsung A52s. The galaxy active 2 has been slashed to $160 from $300 in my country. Will it be a good purchase considering its already 2 years old? I'm just worried if they might release an active 3 in few months but haven't heard any rumours or anything.

    Samsung Buds Durability

    Posted: 30 Nov 2021 11:39 AM PST

So maybe 2 years ago i bought some Samsung Buds from Amazon. First off: Mic quality on my first set was bad, exchanged, same bad mic. Not sure why, but these things have always had bad mic quality for me.

Anyway i just wanted to point out some good things about these buds.

These are the adventure these buds have been on so far.

    • Gone through the washing machine and dryer three times.
    • The case and buds went through a snowblower.
    • Young cousin burried them in outside sandbox for 3 days.
    • constantly stored in my car for days/weeks on end. Temps in my car hit highs of 120+ and lows of -12 (F)
    • stepped on numerous times by my fat ass.
    • Kept on charger for weeks/left dead in car for weeks.

These things just wont die which is great for me. I kept telling myself "Ill get a pair with a better mic when these die." and they wont. Durability alone i'd buy another set.

Although they don't work like new obviously.

    • Charge in each bud only lasts about 2 hours. 1 if a phonecall.
    • Case Wireless charger is VERY troublesome and needs to be readjusted multiple times during a charge session.
    • Touch buttons are wonky, they sometimes work as intended. Sometimes a double click is a single click, sometimes a hold is a double click.
    • The left earbud takes about 45 seconds to connect and sync up to the other earbud.
    • Ambient noise feature doesn't work since the Mic is so bad on my pair. Everytime something around me happens and that feature is enabled it sounds like the kid from Poltergeist.

I believe these are the 2nd gen.

Do you guys have any stories about your devices and surprising durability feats?
