    Looking For A Game. Homeless.

    Posted: 28 Nov 2021 05:18 PM PST

Hi. I am looking for a few different games to try. To understand some things I can only use Android. No Laptop. No Emulator. Nothing except my phone. I am also living in my car but I can have a job and get a home and an working on those things. The point in mentioning that is to get you to understand I am trying but currently can only use my phone. My phone can play any games because I actually did pay like $400 for it...

The type of game I want recommended? Well there are a few BUT please understand the games does NOT have to fit in all the categories!

Social Games: Preferably with voice chat or text chat and a world where I can be around the other players and socialize. I would prefer a game where there are enough players and decent customization on your character. I used to play VRCHAT and Second Life when I was able to use a computer. I don't like games like IMVU where you can't move freely.

Full Version SOLO Games: When I was younger I loved playing GBA Pokemon Crystal, Blue, Red, Sapphire, and all of those games. I also had Medabots and Beyblade and Final Fantasy... Those games with maybe 20 to 40 hours of gameplay. The last game I played like that on laptop was Undertale and Terraria. The last game I played like that on mobile was "7 Years From Now". I do not like huge graphics or extreme fights. So a game I can play fully by myself.

Story Story Story: For the games above the most important aspect is STORY. I would love a cool storyline but my main favorite storylines would be Romance, Bullying, Horror, Quest To Be The Best, Adventure.... Also I love characters that have meaningful story. At least Pokemon Level. Pokemon didn't have the best story but it was fun and have a decent storyline and a fun variety of Pokemon and different versions. I would prefer a game where I can be ME rather than the character. I don't like it when I play games and I am someone else unless it has an amazing storyline. I can even accept a game with only story such as a visual novel like "Her Lie I Tried To Believe"

Price: I would prefer free if possible. I can consider games that cost money as long as it is a 1 time charge and no more money needed and it has to have a low price. I understand that games like Pokemon cost like $20 or $30 back when I was a kid but they now only cost $10 but you have to have an expensive game system like a 3ds or Switch.

    Dark Mist Scoring

    Posted: 29 Nov 2021 10:10 AM PST

I love this type of game, card PVE, but I have no idea how the scoring works in this game. Sometimes people have scores in the tens to hundreds of thousands. How are they doing it? If it is some type of meta gaming it seems silly.

You guys know where save files for android games are located?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2021 05:10 AM PST

I'm playing a visual novel and there are no cloud saves so I wanted to see if maybe I can transfer a file to another device

    [REQUEST] Games with crossplatform progression?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2021 12:21 PM PST

Hey, I'm looking for games that have crossplatform progression, in this case between my phone and PC. I tend to travel a ton and play games on my phone while doing so, but I'd love to play something I can also play on PC with shared progress.

(I'm aware I could use Bluestacks or such to emulate android on PC and play it via that, but that's not what I'm mainly looking for)

Single/Multiplayer: Either, but (optional) multiplayer is preferred.

Genre: RPGs mostly, be it MMORPG or smaller scale. Action/fps also works.

    Online/Offline: Either.

Monetization/Cost: Either, but I could, depending on price and game, be willing to pay for something twice (say, the game on Steam and then on Google Play), as long as it features what I'm looking for.

    Portrait/Landscape: Either.

Key Features: Shared progression between platforms, in this case Android and PC.

Star Traders - Frontiers vs RPG

    Posted: 29 Nov 2021 10:47 AM PST

I'm considering buying one of these games but was wondering what the difference is between them. I love RPGs and am looking for a space exploration/trading game on Android with open-ended/sandbox game play. Is one of these more like what I am looking for than the other?

Anyone have any experience using the razer Kishi mobile game controller for emulators?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2021 09:41 AM PST

Was looking at game pads, I'm specifically looking for one that plugs into my USBc on my phone rather than Bluetooth, and for use with my PS1 emulator to play a metal gear solid 1backup on my phone.

The emulator and game runs great, but when trying to use my PS4 controller via Bluetooth I get really spotty input, it seems to just stop receiving input altogether for periods of time then starts working again.

I came across the razer Kishi on sale today, and was thinking about getting it. Looks like it should work fine from the review videos I've seen, it clicks right in with Android native support and let's you browse your home screen with the controller.

Since it works for that, any emulators should be able to read the input as well and worse case scenario I'll have to manually bind each button, right?

Anyone know where I can find a game pad/phone holder that plugs into my USBc instead of using Bluetooth?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2021 09:19 AM PST

I've got a PlayStation emulator on my phone, and some other emulators, and backups of some games and my bios.

I want to play some games that really need trigger controls, like metal gear solid, but my fingers don't work like that on the touchscreen trigger controls.

I tried connecting my PS4 controller via Bluetooth, and it connects and works, but every 10 seconds or so my phone seems to just stop receiving the input, then it will just start working again.

I'm on a moto g stylus, 2021 version. I believe it's got something to do with my Bluetooth receiver on my phone, not certain, but I imagine it's designed to buffer music then stop, rather than receive constant input.

My only working solution ive found is to hardwire my PS4 controller directly into my phone with a USBC adapter I've found, and use the controller via USB instead of Bluetooth.

Is really like to be able to hold my phone though while I play it. The screens a decent size for a phone, but it's hard to find a comfortable setup to set my phone down and hold my controller, I've tried using my Chromecast to cast my phone video output to my tv, but this is results in a full 2-10 seconds of lag, despite my internet being phenomenal (100mbs+ on wifi) because iirc Chromecast goes from your phone, to a server, to the Chromecast, rather than directly from your phone to the Chromecast.

All the gamepads I can find online are Bluetooth only, and I'm not certain they would even fit my phone. I suspect that the Bluetooth issue MIGHT only be with my PS4 controller because it's Sony hardware, and that something designed for Android MIGHT work just fine, but I REALLY don't want to drop 60$ on a gamepad that won't work with my phone.

Does anyone know of any good ones with a hardwire plug in rather than Bluetooth? It wouldn't have to necessarily be a phone case game pad, I'd be happy with a gamepad that has a phone mount on it and a short wire for the USB honestly.

iPhone SE 2020 vs. REDMAGIC 6s Pro

    Posted: 28 Nov 2021 08:35 PM PST

I'm looking to have better performance in RetroArch. I was made aware of this Android phone that seems to be pretty fast, but is it faster than the SE 2's A13 processor? I can run the DeSmuME core on RetroArch on my iPhone pretty well but I'd like to be able to upscale it by maybe x3 or x4 (currently can only go max to x2). I know the camera isn't as good compared to the iPhone but that doesn't matter much to me. Sorry if this seems dumb, I know nothing of Android so maybe someone could guide me in the right direction here 😊

    Posted: 28 Nov 2021 12:39 PM PST

My wife and kids have tested positive for COVID-19, so I'm looking for some good fun games that we can play from our own devices. Word games, board/card games, escape room type games are the top 3 genres

We added controller support to Dread Rune and it slaps

The game has always naturally felt like it would be better suited to a controller. I'm proud to say after much work it is now supported.
We are only a small team and have only done an internal test, so let us know what we did well, if there are any bugs/hiccups and where we can improve. I will fix it!
    iOS will be released tomorrow.

    Looking for perfect football game

    Posted: 28 Nov 2021 04:47 PM PST

I was just wondering if there is any modded football game made from good parts of pes and fifa. I like FIFA's ui and all those modifications we can do with our team but gameplay is trash On other hand PES have very boring ui and we all know what they do in name of events n no league option and they are missing alot of icons or legends but no other game come close to their game mechanics n overall full match experience

What are your favorite paid games for each of these genres

    Posted: 28 Nov 2021 09:03 AM PST

I say paid because I tried some free games and a lot (not all, but a good portion of them) have either locked content and/or intrusive ads (which I can understand because devs need to eat, but still...).

If you know any free game that have manageable ads then feel free to mention them.

Anyway, please recommend me some games with the criteria provided.

    Thanks

    • Puzzle

    • Deck Collection / Card Game

    • City Builder

    • Colony / Base building (smaller scale from City building)

    • Resource Management, Business, economics, farming, trading... (no clickers or idlers)

    • Survival

    • Horror

    • RPG / Adventure (doesn't have to be fantasy themed)

    • Monster collection (like traditional Pokemon, but not Pokemon GO),

    Thanks again.

I've been a PCgamer all my life and I'm trying to expand my hobby to mobile so I'm completely new to all of this, and instead of Spamming the sub with threads for each genre I figured I'd just bundle them all up.

What are some good cheaper phones with a good battery ?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2021 01:39 PM PST

Theres nothing worse than playing a game on a phone with a shitty battery where you can only play for a short time before you have to recharge. Im assuming all cheaper phones have lousy battery life but are their any powerful lower cost phones that have a battery where you can play a game for more than 2 hours straight ?

Good single player games, but meant to be played on a phone first and foremost.

    Posted: 28 Nov 2021 05:31 PM PST

Just got a decent phone after years with a shitty one. I'm looking for a game that fit these 3 categories

    • It was meant to be played on a phone. A fun game that its better to be played on phone over anything else. Not trying to simulate a gamepad or anything. Simple gameplay, short play sessions.

    • No ads, or a cheap purchase to remove ALL ads.

    • Not scummy on microtransactions. I'm okay with runners, and I loved them on 2013 or so. I just dont want 3 types of currencies, boring grind to do anything. Games that make me play because they are fun, not for a grind. Obviously, it means no Gatcha or similar genres.

Examples of good games I liked

    • Void Tyrant (masterpiece of mobile IMO)
    • Nitrome games
    • Early 2010's games
    • Mediocre games (the developer)
    • Pixel Dungeon
