With the latest update miui has disabled gesture support for third party apps. In large screen phones it's very difficult and counter intuitive to use buttons for navigation. It feels terrible to be stuck with default launcher is we need to use gestures, Its pathetic that there was no warning by Xiaomi before the update. In their early days, I used to meet a bad build quality. Now, they've really stepped up their game. The phone performs great, even though the camera could have been better. MIUI is surprisingly cleaner than OneUI (considering you opt-out of everything that Mi provides by default and install a third party launcher). The only thing that annoys me - lack of notification sounds and the Mi Security app that automatically pops up when trying to install an APK. I don't use it, so revoked its access. Is there a way to have different notification sounds? Or am I missing something? [link] [comments]  |
| Looking for UK Repair tips for Black Shark 2 Posted: 19 Jul 2021 09:17 PM PDT I've recently broken the front glass display on my Black Shark 2 ( maybe 3 or 4 feet drop onto concrete?) The front display is the only thing that is broken from what I'm AWARE of. I understand that the Black Shark is that weird red headed step-child the the Xiaomi product family, but does anyone have any repair experience or any experience with particular repair provider in the UK? The main Xiaomi UK support page does not provide any information on the Black Shark 2 itself or component and the actual Black Shark page is basically dead at this point. | Strange central button behavior with app drawer Posted: 19 Jul 2021 04:15 PM PDT Hi everyone. I'm trying to use the default MIUI launcher on my Xiaomi Mi9T (Redmi K20) as I've always used Nova but I've noticed a strange behavior while using the app drawer. To make it short if I'm in the app drawer or if I'm in an app launched from the drawer the central button doesn't immediately bring me back to the home page but acts like a back button, bringing me back to the drawer first and then closing it. Is this normal? Shouldn't the central button bring me immediately to the home screen? Is there a way to make it behave this way? Thanks in advance for any help. [link] [comments]  |

I have a Xioami Mi Max 3 which I love and its maintenance date is coming (formatting and updating once a year) its latest available version is MIUI 12.5 and I wanted to ask since RAM is everything for me, today July 2021 how is the RAM consumption/management of MIUI 12.5? I know it was buggy at the beginning but I heard that they took measures/fix to reduce consumption but I would like to know if it is more or less MIUI 11 consumption. I open many browsing tabs and I do a lot of multitasking, not CPU demanding but a lot of ram, my phone is the 4/64gb model. Thank you for the help. [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 18 Jul 2021 11:45 PM PDT I updated my K20 Pro to latest global stable update, that is MIUI 12.5.1 however it feels laggy while opening apps, going to recent apps as well as the animations feel slower. Also I have a dual app for Instagram installed but after the updated the dual app is unable to access things like gallery or photos hence unable to upload any content. I already miss 12.0.6 version, which was far smoother without any bugs Is there a fix or work around? I don't want to go through re-installing 12.0.6 manually. [link] [comments]  |

| PS2 controller not working on Redmi Note 5 Posted: 19 Jul 2021 02:29 PM PDT So I have an OTG cable, ps controller adapter and I want to connect it to my phone and play it. Unfortunately, when I plug the microusb in my phone the controller won't work. I also tried on a few other phones that my friends have and it worked (the light was on on the adapter). So basically is only my phone who does not support the controller. My device is not rooted. I even tried a few weeks later after I clean installed my phone but it didn't work. Any idea how I can fix this? Should I use a third party app on my phone? I think I downloaded once an app and when I tried pushing some buttons there was some response, but it is not recognized somehow by the system. Anyone had similar experience? [link] [comments]  |
