    Hey all,

I wrote a post today about the development of Shuttle Music Player. I have some exciting news coming in the coming days, and I thought it would be nice to shine a light on what's happened with Shuttle over the years.

    SafeDots is completely FOSS now

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 09:27 AM PDT

Initially, when I launched the app in beta I've added a few trackers (Google Analytics and Crashlytics) to get the bug report (and also see the map with my users ;) it feels good ).

But, now even the free version of the app is completely FOSS. Also, I've reduced the price of the paid app to the lowest possible if you would like to support my work. App should also be available in f-droid shortly.

    Free Version GP : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aravi.dot

Support Version (Has more customisations costs less than a dollar) : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aravi.dotpro

    Fdroid : https://apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid/index/apk/com.aravi.dot

    - Would making the dots look like Android 12 Indicators help ? I'm not sure if everyone like those. Let me know in the comments. If you guys like it, I'll make it.

What's the biggest thing keeping you on Android?

    Posted: 12 Jul 2021 02:33 PM PDT

A lot of my friends want me to switch to iPhone, but there's 5 big things I just cannot live without.

    1. Good Lock / side gestures

Samsung's Good Lock app is constantly inventing customizations that even stock Android doesn't have. One of them is side gestures. Being able to hold my phone in the palm of my hand and use the side of my phone to navigate so much more fluid. I cant believe Apple and Google still use bottom gestures

    1. Nova Launcher / Folder Icons

Nova Launcher lets you customize every detail imaginable on your home screen. My favorite feature is that it lets you create custom folder icons. Apple only lets you customize app icons.

    1. The screen

Android has up to 4k resolution and 240Hz on their smartphones. Apple isn't even in the same league.

    1. Videogame Emulation

I love playing PS2, Wii, and Nintendo games on my smartphone. I know this is possible on iPhone, but I hear its substantially harder.

    1. APK apps

Self explanatory. If you're an APK fan, you know exactly just how good these apps are.

Honorable mention: Having a smart pen eject from my Samsung phone is so useful. It'd be hard for me to live without it now

An app like YouTube vanced with the ability to enter a time, like I click the video and then enter 23:50 to start watching at this point.

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 10:35 AM PDT

If vanced has this ability I haven't found it.

    Thanks in advance.

I need a location-based reminder app. I hope something exist like this

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 09:33 AM PDT

Okay guys, I have a big problem. I have to scan a QR-code every time start/leave work in order to count my work hours. The problem is I am really forgetful.

Generally, I forget very often to log in max. 1h later, but yesterday, I forgot the entire day. I lost 100€ of work.

Is there an app where I can get a reminder as soon my GPS is located at work? The problem is, I don't arrive at work unevenly, that means sometimes I arrive minutes/hours earlier/later. A manual reminder won't work, unless you guys have a better idea, please tell me.

Also Python coders could maybe tell me if this project is doable? With Google Maps API I could write a script that I will get an email whenever I step foot at my work place and sends another email as a reminder.

Please understand, that I don't work there officially, so I am not allowed to do anything locally and physically like changing something of my work place, put something or whatever. I don't have much rights right there, but I don't care. Just want to work

    Thanks for reading.

Is there an app that allows you to play sounds from multiple apps at once?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 08:42 AM PDT

That's the question. I have a high-end samsung tablet. It allows for me to play sound from multiple apps at once through the sound assistant app. Unfortunately, the app only works on samsung devices, and my phone is not a samsung. Does anyone know of any apps that will allow me to for example, play a lofi tune on spotify while listening to a podcast on Castbox

The developer of Flux has just released a new update after about 6 months of inactivity! Flux is still one of the best weather apps on Android, and it's good to see that it's not dead.

Bluetooth Mouse - Size field touch area

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 07:57 AM PDT

Hey Folks. i hope to find an answer to something that bothers me a lot :D
playing a mobile game Orna (GPS based RPG) so i bought a mouse for my tablet (Galaxy Tab A7)
now, my problem is the app itself doenst recognize the mouse on every click (other apps work perfectly) its cause, i think the field size that a mouse click does is not big enough.
maybe its a protection or smth like that against botters, cheaters, whatever.

so when i turn on the dev options on my tablet it says "Size 0.0" with a mouse click and a normal touch with my finger thats mostly "Size 0.56"

so i hope maybe someone knows a way to tell the tablets OS itself to recognize mouse clicks with a bigger field or give it any other way a bigger size field when clicking.

    or any other idea?

    LED notification apps

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 11:43 AM PDT

I recently got the Galaxy S21 after owning the S9. I noticed they got rid of the LED that notifies you when you have a text or a low battery. Is there some kind of app that makes up for this? I miss being able to glance down on my phone while it's on the charger and see that I have a Snapchat or something.

    [DEV] Wall E. - A Wallpaper App

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 10:06 AM PDT

I started developing this simple app as a project for my App Dev course which I decided to upload to the Play Store.

Description: It takes wallpapers from subreddits like Amoledbackgrounds and Verticalwallpapers and shows them in once place. Currently, it provides basic functionalities (set, download, favorite). However, I plan on adding more.

Google photos - which version do they have old timeline from last month where you could see individual dates instead of months... And where to download it?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 09:33 AM PDT

    Hi all

I really hate that they made timeline to scroll with months and highlight of the month, instead as it was before with singular dates (I often go back to specific date and I go over pictures and delete, now I have to scroll to the month, then flick my finger allll the way to bottom of Month)

Any ideas where I could get it to older version with this function?

    Thank you

Who logged onto my phone app?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 07:43 AM PDT

My daughter loves to hack phone passwords. I've seen apps that will take a selfie pic after a few incorrect password entries.

Is there an app that will log correct password entries? (either by simply logging the time or taking a selfie pic)

    Thanks!

Nine email app - junk folder missing!

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 06:18 AM PDT

    Hi

I have multiple email accounts added to Nine and a combined email inbox setup. However, though all other folders combine, the junk folder is missing

It's annoying having to check the junk folder of each email separately and was wondering if anyone had a clue on how to have it combined?

    Thanks

Have you tried this AI writing assistant?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 05:28 AM PDT

Just wanna share an AI-assisted writing app Dreamily.

I messed around with it after a friend's recommendation, and now it has become my most often used writing app. Basically, it writes a continuation for the snippet you give. Thought it might be helpful for those who need to write a lot? The impressive part of this app is that it seems to really understand your input and give creative continuations. Here's my experiment with the fairytale Snow White. Italics are Dreamily.

Snow White and the prince lived happily together until one day when they had both fallen asleep together. They had just finished their conversation and had agreed to spend their entire lives together, but suddenly a monster came into the palace and tried to take Snow White, who was still asleep in his arms. He couldn't help but feel like this wasn't right at all.

    Quite intriguing huh?

I also input other materials such as my fanfic WIPs, instructions for an oven, and even my dissertation. It always remains logical within a few lines, but after a few lines, it could be too imaginative lol sometimes. So I guess this AI is currently better at creative writing? Then it may be useful for fic writers, play writers, or students who need to do a lot of writing. And of course, it's also great fun to just kill time with it! (Starting with the Snow White example, I have been playing with it for half an hour now hahaha)

    ezPDF Player hack?

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 05:06 AM PDT

I'm being forced to use ezPDF player for work. A link from my employer's website starts the download in ezPDF Player, from where I can read, play etc. I've searched for the downloaded .pdf but can't find it and can't find any way to download said .pdf in the app.

Any insights into where I might look for the download or how I can get the .pdf to use with other applications would be much appreciated. Thanks

    Alternate Instagram Client

    Posted: 13 Jul 2021 03:48 AM PDT

    Hey guys,

For a short time now I've been using a new Instagram client that I've been really liking. The problem is, I had to wipe my phone and this client isn't available in the play store. I think it was called something like "Inlander" but all my searching has been fruitless. Anyone have any idea? I'd really appreciate it.

    Thanks
