Next-gen Exynos x AMD and the future of Samsung flagships Posted: 01 Jul 2021 08:18 PM PDT I just had a small realization thinking about the next Exynos SoC (probably the Exynos 2200) Will Samsung ditch the Snapdragon 9xx for the S22 (along with future chips on their future flagships)? On one hand, it would make sense since the Snapdragon 9xx probably won't be able to match the GPU performance on the Exynos 2200. On the other hand, Samsung hasn't really cared about the gap in performance when comparing the Snapdragon vs. Exynos in the past. If they don't for the S22, will they eventually? Or will they continue to offer Snapdragon in select markets, and Exynos in others? If they did, us Snapdragon folk will finally understand how it feels to have an inferior device, and the Exynos folk will finally be on top One thing's for sure. If/when they switch to all Exynos, bootloader unlocking and rooting will be accessible to everyone What do you think? Is this a stupid question with a simple answer? Let me know!
