My personal list of worthwhile mobile games

    Posted: 18 Jul 2021 08:35 PM PDT

I've been compiling a list of games that i enjoy/have enjoyed, figured i might as well clean it up a bit and post it here

Obviously there are games here that some might disagree with, and some that should be here but aren't (Also I tried to avoid including ports, just to not mention things like Minecraft or Terraria)

The best - These I consider to be high quality games that just happen to be on mobile:

    • Galaxy on Fire 2
    • Does not commute
    • Pirates Outlaws
    • Soul Knight
    • Solomon's Keep
    • Shadow Fight 2
    • BloonsTD (Main Series)
    • Hungry Shark Evolution
    • Trials Frontier
    • Badland

Time Killers - Not all of these are lower-quality games than the ones above, but I felt they fit better here, so here they are:

    • Grabatron (Not Available)
    • King Tongue
    • Dran'n'Boom
    • Dragon Hills
    • Pako - Car Chase Simulator
    • Alto's (Adventure and Odyssey)
    • Hanger
    • Smash Hit
    • Robot Unicorn Attack 2 (Not Available)

    Resource Management/Tycoon:

    • TerraGenesis - Space Settlers
    • Armory and Machine 1
    • Cell to Singularity
    • Just Kill Me 3
    • Egg, Inc.

Sandbox - These are definitely not for everyone, but I thoroughly enjoyed them when I was younger, so here they are:

    • The Sandbox: Craft Play Share
    • Bad Piggies

    Puzzle:

    • Bart Bonte's color series
    • Most if not all games from Maple Fire Games/ Maple Fire Games, LLC

Nostalgic - These are games I haven't played in years, so I can't speak to their actual quality, all I can say is that I have good memories of them:

    • Pocket Frogs
    • Defender III
    • School of Chaos
    • Heroes vs Monsters (Broken)
    • The Blockheads (Not Available)
    • Pixel gun 3D
    • Hill Climb Racing
    • RC Plane 2 (Broken)
    • Zombie Tsunami
    • Cut the Rope
    • Gravity Evolved (Not Available)
    • Jelly Car (Not Available)

Why does every Android Gacha game have to have a home screen that looks like a field of vomited icons?

    Posted: 18 Jul 2021 07:40 AM PDT

King of Fighters All Stars is the latest game I decided to give a shot and am tempted to uninstall it after just a few days playing.

First off, here's a homescreen shot I found online:

    https://i.ytimg.com/vi/dNQl8kwg9_s/maxresdefault.jpg

To new players, even after the obnoxious handholding tutorial, this screen is just littered with icons and info that can be daunting to wade through.

Why do they need all these things right on the main screen? Can't they design it so that some of them are nested within other screens?

Then there's the plethora of power-up items and currency you can collect. Why can't they funnel these things down into just a few things to make it less daunting?

The sad thing is, the game seems like it has promise. Unlike most of these Gachas I've tried, it isn't just a JRPG style tap-fest which leads to the auto-play battles that everyone seems to want. It could be expanded into a full beat-em-up type of game.

But instead it has quick 1-minute battles (maybe they get longer when you go further into it) and also has an auto option which is just baffling to me how people can enjoy "playing" such a thing without actually playing. And as I stated above, it just pushes players away by making all the progress confusing and obtuse instead of straightforward.

Sorry, rant over. Maybe I'm just too old for this stuff. :)

    edit:

I meant to note that the only reason I was trying out KOF All Stars is because I heard there was a DOA crossover coming. I'm a huge DOA fan, so I figured I'd see what the game was like... but I'm fairly certain it's not really worth my time.

[DEV] Hey guys, I work on a card-based dungeon crawler. I added a few new cards, and start to work on the synergy, here is a pretty cool hand I put together. What do you think of it?

    [Request] Roguelikes/roguelites

    Posted: 18 Jul 2021 02:38 PM PDT

Hey everyone, I've been playing a TON of Slay the Spire lately and I'm hoping to find other high quality roguelikes or roguelites available on the Play Store. I love the deckbuilding aspects of StS but I'm super open to any games in this genre. Let me know what you got!

    Strategic Formations Battle Game ?

    Posted: 18 Jul 2021 07:06 PM PDT

I am hoping to find a Total War style strategy game based on troop formations with an "arcade" feel. I would like more strategy then just simply popping troops down.

    Thanks for any recommendations !

    Idle Inn Tycoon Bug

    Posted: 18 Jul 2021 03:38 PM PDT

So I was playing Idle Inn Tycoon the other day and a weird bug happened where everything started stuttering when I clicked on the free money pouch. Now I can no longer get the 50 free gems when I complete a set amount of cleanups and night progressions.

Usually, when you complete something like 100 overnight cleanups (you tap the overnight button and then the broom button when they pop up) you get 50 free gems, but once that weird stuttering happened, it's been 5 gems. I can only assume something went horribly wrong, but I can't figure out what. No other person seems to have had this problem, so of course it happens to me.

Anyway, now I only get 5 gems, I can often not complete the room extras. I am not sure what is causing it.

(Edited because my iPad makes me sound like a goof)

[Reuqest] Games to play during holiday

    Posted: 18 Jul 2021 04:58 AM PDT

    Hey ho,

I'll be on holiday soon and will spend 2,5 weeks where I'll probably be bored often. I'm looking for anything at all, online and offline, it would be nice to have something that can be played as multi-player since I'll have my siblings around who'll also be bored.

The only thing that comes to my mind would be a Gameboy emulator with Pokémon but that's it.

[REQUEST] Please recommend good free RPG's, emulators, and more.

    Posted: 18 Jul 2021 03:01 PM PDT

So, I bought a Realme GT a few weeks ago, and I'm looking for games. The last time a bought a phone was like 7 year ago, so it's my first time playing android games other than "bejeweled" and stuff like that. Now it's time I play some better games, but I'm completely out of the loop. I tried Genshin Impact, and after being blown away by what mobile games can be, I decided to come here looking for suggestions. I don't want to root my phone and since right now I'm a bit on the low side of cash I'll stick with free games. I know there are emulators, is there a list of the best for each console? I'm interested in ps1,2, snes and BG/GBA, with controller support if possible. I prefer RPG's, but feel free to recommend any kind of game, really.

What is your favorite Tycoon game?

    Posted: 18 Jul 2021 02:44 AM PDT

[Request] in search of similar games to ffrk, romancing re universe, etc

    Posted: 18 Jul 2021 08:01 AM PDT

So I'm a sucker for games mentioned above. More pixel and rpg with team composition like final fantasy record keeper and final fantasy brave Exvius.

Recently picked up romancing saga universe and I enjoy it's combat as well.

Pixelish Gacha is ok Multiple characters to from diff series Auto is helpful for story and then manual for events

Already have Brave frontier - dead Ffrk Ffbe Romancing saga universe Union cross? Think was the name of the game

Don't think I've seen any others like these yet.

If there is older singleplay I'm fine with that too cause I'll use vmos to play 4.4 android games

One of the most in-depth Life Simulator games on the market, used to work perfectly, now its like this? Even older version APK's are the same, developer has given up, deleted all socials. Anybody know a way to fix this? Not that anybody should care if the actual developer doesn't, just a shame..

    Posted: 18 Jul 2021 06:56 AM PDT

Looking for offline 2D (or 3D) topdown RPG with story and no anime. Can be pixel art but i prefer not.

    Posted: 18 Jul 2021 02:15 AM PDT

    Can you recommend some?
