I went on a business trip and for some reason our laptop stopped working. My wife took it to a non reliable computer shop and they replaced the motherboard. After replacing the motherboard our laptop is asking for some kind of bitlocker recovery key, which of course we don't have. We went back to the "shop", they didn't give us the key, and our previous motherboard wasn't available anymore. Our main concern is to recover all the documents, PPT's and other stuff I need for my job everyday. Thanks in advanced for any advice or recommendation. [link] [comments]  | ||

My immediate thought process was to just copy the exe file onto a usb but I then realized it wouldn't be that simple. Does anyone know all the stuff I would have to copy in order for it to function? I'm not exactly trying to download anything. For context, I did find the exe but it appears that there is a bunch of other files associated with it. What should I copy and paste? | Posted: 04 Jun 2021 07:56 AM PDT My windows pc will randomly crash out of no where, however the audio is fine (for example I was making some muck on fl studio and it froze but I could still hear my music) it happens when I play games aswell but I've looked and none of my cpu or ram are high in my task managers. The only way to make it work again is by turning it off by the switch at the back and turning it back on. It seems that one of the detriments of the Surface, for example, is that there is no true easy-access tablet mode, merely a very lightly toned down full Windows experience. Posted: 04 Jun 2021 08:28 AM PDT If you can't get a window to pop up, like it hidden, but shows on the taskbar that it's running, and you have multiple displays, change project to clone instead of extend, and it should popup. Had a security camera software that would popup and ask for username and password, but when you logged in, it would disappear. Was about to reinstall, and tried this, and it worked. Quick way to get change the clone to extend, press the Windows + P key. [link] [comments]  | ||

I've had my eyes set on a new laptop but I'm torn between the new M1 Macbooks and the Asus ROG Flow X13. I know that the Flow X13 is a better performer but my dad keeps telling me about horror stories of his bad experiences with windows. I know he's had these experiences in the past but they were all 10 years ago. He insists that Windows laptops haven't improved and are probably prone to overheating are really unreliable. Is he right about Windows or should i just go right ahead and buy the Flow X13? Are there any specific issues that the X13 is prone to? [link] [comments]  | ||
