Why isn't there a subreddit devoted just to new Android game developers.

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 04:19 PM PDT

While I hope everyone has success in the their Android development career I don't see why this subreddit has to be inundated with "Hey check out my very first game" posts.

Lets all be honest here. These games tend to be pretty trash because these are first attempts at Android development. There's nothing wrong with that. The problem is with thousands of Android devs this subreddit becomes clogged with these and we end up missing posts from more established well made games.

Again, I want everyone to succeed but there there needs to be more rules in place concerning this because its getting to the point where its turning into spam.

Riot Games to bring Valorant to the mobile platform

I wish GameLoft would come back with another Order and Chaos game like the first one...

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 09:28 PM PDT

Order and Chaos Online was perfect. Then Order and Chaos 2 came out with its stunning graphics but autoplay and overall worse reviews. People Loved OAC1... why they ever stopped adding content to it is beyond me.

God I wish it would just come back. There just aren't any game out there now that are similarly challenging with team dungeon content and god forbid.. no autoplay. OAC1 was so ahead of its time... why would they just let a gold mine die?

Would really love to get it running again....can someone point to a link where I could get it directly ? Or any ideas if/how it could be run using the files I already have on newer android.

    Cheers in advance

    Diablo Immortal-It's actually not bad

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 05:13 AM PDT

Been playing this for about a week now. I'm really impressed.

I've never really played a Diablo game before but I saw all the memes and cringy announcement videos a few years ago. I expected this to be terrible. But it isn't.

I've always intended to give Diablo a go but just never got around to it until now. I'm kinda curious how veteran Diablo players feel about it. Especially given the derision it received at the start.

I finally got to try it this week and expected a train wreck...but it's actually quite good. It's probably the best mobile game I've played in years. The graphics are great, the animations are incredible, and I've sunk dozens of hours in without any paywalls or offensive IAP

I hope that this continues. But for now, I highly recommend it.

Can Apps from the playstore secretly mine crypto or why is it that some games draw so much battery seemingly unjustified?

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 12:33 PM PDT

Why do some games and apps, especially simple gatcha and pw2 game clones that do alot of advertising, use so much battery? Asphalt game for example needs every bit of my device (justifyable) and uses alot of battery obviously, but top war is just simple but seems to draw energy even faster; or waking dead or rush royal or the merge games... Bad coding or why is that?

For the people that where looking and said it was gone, it was. Fortunately WB has put it back on the Play Store after 10 months. Just search for it and you will find it.

I don't see how ff7 first soldier can be a success

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 04:17 AM PDT

Maybe overseas they eat this up, but I've played this a decent amount this week. And it's not impressive

The controls are horrible, it feels decent with an Xbox controller though still has plenty of issues and I feel like I still need the touch screen while using an Xbox controller.

My biggest knock is the player vs player combat feels absolutely terrible (actually no the controls/movement is but pvp is a solid second place) . The pve combat is actually pretty cool and has a ton of potential (plus let's you really enjoy a lot of the systems in place in game)

But Pvp combat just seems like garbage.

Its ff7 so there's going to be a ton of resources available for the project, I really hope SE pivots and takes a huge pve turn for this game.

    Similar game to AOE

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 05:26 AM PDT

Im not looking for exact clone or anything bcz I know it can be a lot of work and maybe even difficult to do it. But something like AoE(RTS, City building, Pve and PvP).

I can grind a lot, a lot but it should be worthwhile. I dont want to spend hours on a game where nothing is progressing. And also are there games like AoE where you can collect resources and then use that?

I have no idea and it can be a wild goose chase but Im looking for something I can invest some time on and feel happy without paying a dime.

Also Albion online mobile is launching on june 9th. So thats something I have played and I enjoy.

Looking for a game in the vein of dwarf fortress

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 10:08 AM PDT

I'm looking for something specifically like dwarf fortress or rimworld. The key mechanics I'm looking for are:

    1) ai controlled villagers 2) base building 3) random events (raids and such)

I've been searching for ages and just can't scratch this itch. I lost my pc a while ago and I'm just looking for something I can hop on late at night, kill an hour or two trying to get a base set up, and go to sleep. I'm tired of the usually games, generic idles, advertisement simulators, games designed for pay to win, poorly designed copies with touch screen controls my massive thumbs can't control, ect. I figured a touch based base builder I can assign little dudes to build/defend would be super easy to create and yet I don't see anything that fits what I'm looking for on the market.

Edit: the setting of the game doesn't matter. Don't care if it's dwarves, post apocalypse, space, ect. Just as long as I can tell little people to do stuff.

The more weird stuff the better too. Harvesting organs like rimworld, crafting prosthetic limbs, finding weird game changing items in caves... I'm looking to create fun and interesting stories.

    [Request] Good roguelike/rpg games

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 03:45 AM PDT

    I've played:

    Wayward Souls

    Pixel Dungeon

    Hoplite

I'm looking for help finding a decent rpg/roguelike game with high replayability similar to the games I've played before. They can be paid or free, but I would prefer if there were no microtransactions that affect gameplay. Thanks in advance! :)

Please help finding a puzzle game like tetris but with numbers

    Posted: 03 Jun 2021 03:04 AM PDT

    Solved!

Round tiles with numbers on them drop into a grid and stacks with each other like tetris. The tiles will disappear and give points if the number of tiles next to them in a line either horizontal or vertical match the numbers on them. A tile with three in it needs to be in a line with exactly three tiles arranged in a line either horizontally or vertically. Each tile has different colors depending on the numbers on them. I forgot the name please help.

Edit: Its literally like tetris with numbers not a 2048 kind of slide numbers together game
