Posted: 22 May 2021 03:12 AM PDT Hello ALL, I hope this post is not against the rules of this subreddit. I used to have terrible anxiety and depression so I have developed an app called Raah. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.raahteam.raahtheapp Sometimes we cannot focus on simple things and are blocked the entire day or maybe even weeks because we have something in our mind which is bothering us and we don't have the correct person to talk to without the fear of being judged. The purpose of this app is you can talk to someone and share out your frustrations, sorrows or just speak your mind. You can also listen to someone who wants to be heard and feel glad that you just gave some time and attention to someone and made them feel better. Despite having so much social media around, one feels they cannot truly express themselves without the fear of being judged or gossip. All this happens while you remain anonymous. The app is purely text chat-based no audio, video, no image sharing, no meme's nothing. Just straight text to help conceal your identity. Web-version for those who wish not to install it can add it to their home screen. https://talk.raah.app/ Those who wish to voluntarily listen to someone would be notified on our telegram channel. https://t.me/knockknockraah If you find any suspicious permissions please let us know we will remove them.
Edit: Thanks for the awards you all. I am not crying you are crying. [link] [comments] |
I built an app to display countdowns for Google Calendar events Posted: 22 May 2021 01:52 PM PDT Is it time yet? shows upcoming Google Calendar events as countdowns. Very useful for people with a lot of meetings every day (I use it daily for work!). I have had the need of monitoring upcoming meetings in a different way than just observing a Google Calendar page, which just felt not precise enough. I want to know WHEN I need to join, and I like to know it a minute beforehand :P Even better, if there's some color that catches my eye! By having a countdown, I only need a simple glance to understand what's coming up, and how soon. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 May 2021 01:39 PM PDT I just want to see how many hours i slept like went to bed at this time and woke up at this nothing else [link] [comments] |
I got a new phone and want to turn my old phone into something my kids can use. More inside Posted: 22 May 2021 08:36 AM PDT Old phone is a OnePlus 6t I have a 5 year old and a 3 year old that I would be giving it to. I want them to be able to put on music, be able to text (with voice, they can't read yet) ONLY me and my wife, maybe their grandparents too, and that's pretty much it. I need to be able to disable everything else. What's the best way to go about this? Also, it would be wifi only. No data. [link] [comments] |
Question for all you very smart Android people: Posted: 22 May 2021 03:59 PM PDT I'm not too knowledgeable about Android phones in general. I have a rudimentary working understanding of them at best, & need some technical advise regarding hard resets, specifically. Ok, so there's like a couple ways to do a factory reset right? - via the settings menu (this method is not the one I'm concerned with), OR via the boot screen menu thing, after you do the whole power button + some other button combo thing, right?? So my question is (that nobody seems to be able to answer) is: HAS ANYONE HEARD OF, OR KNOWS A WAY TO DISABLE A PHONE'S ABILITY TO DO A HARD RESET VIA THE 2ND EXAMPLE ABOVE?? -- to essentially temporally disable the button combo method from booting up in that mode that gives someone access to that function. (I'm trying to prevent a phone from being reset. For example; Let's say in the context of a security measure to prevent the action from a bad actor who steals your phone, can't get past the locked lock screen, gets pissed, and without permission, as a malevolent act decides to fuck with you, or sabotage you by hard resetting the phone.) I've heard about certain phones supporting software or apps that perform this task, or even through the developer mode settings, but I can't find anything concrete. Does ANYONE know anything about this?!? CAN it even BE DONE? Thanks in advance! ;) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 May 2021 11:52 AM PDT I used something called Mp3Tube which did that. Very simple easy to use. But lately it was crashing. [link] [comments] |
Downloaded Reddit images no longer showing with Gallery. Posted: 22 May 2021 06:21 PM PDT While browsing Reddit I sometimes wish to save an image as I'm sure many Redditors do. Normally I simply click the 3 dots above the image and when prompted click the "Download" command. This has worked fine in the past with the image showing up in a folder I have called Reddit. Lately though, even though the notification "Downloaded" has appealed below the image, it doesn't appear to be in any folder in Gallery. (Occasionally in the past images have swithched which folder they have turned up in but now they are definitely not turning up in ANY). I am not particularly tech savvy but I cant figure out any change that I may have made to cause this occurance. Any simple solutions so I can access downloaded Reddit images again? Looking for a good way to back up text messages Posted: 22 May 2021 01:21 PM PDT I'm looking for a good app to back up my text and MMS messages. I'm currently using SMS Backup & Restore which has been doing a good job of uploading back ups to my Google Drive, but the file isn't very readable. I'm wondering if there's a better option with a backup that is a little better organized. [link] [comments] |
Multi window functionality on Huawei P30 Pro Posted: 22 May 2021 12:36 PM PDT Is it possible to get the same multiwindow functionality as stock android on the P30 Pro? [link] [comments] |
How do I switch to different activity views from the main activity Java code? Posted: 22 May 2021 03:43 PM PDT I have a traditional computer science/programming background and I've been instructed to make an android app and I keep wanting to approach it from a main program that directs everything else but I don't know how to switch between activity views. Also the location Request appears deprecated so I am unaware of how to set the accuracy and interval. Android development isn't as straight forward as coding competition problems etc so Apologies for any stupid questions. [link] [comments] |
Widget that does something and then disappears after you touch it Posted: 22 May 2021 03:42 PM PDT I have to use multiple schedules for work. One of them is just a website. Is there any widget out there I can set to display itself at a set time (say 8 AM) that will open the website when I touch it and then disappear until the following day at 8 AM? Or any other sort of workarounds. S20FE. A notification is no good to me because I unconsciously swipe through them if they aren't already disabled. It can't be a persistent widget because Im particular about my homescreen and want the annoyance of having to click it to make it go away. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 May 2021 11:35 AM PDT Hello guys, I'm a person who likes all of the genres but I prefer adventure games/racing games/action games, I don't care about the size of the game can you give me some? [link] [comments] |
How can I manually lock my phone without using an external app? (Samsung A10e Android version 10) Posted: 22 May 2021 02:51 PM PDT My previous phone allowed me to lock it anytime by holding the power button and choosing "LOCK PHONE" or something like that but this one does not give me that option anymore - only POWER OFF, RESTART and EMERGENCY MODE OFF. I'm probably missing something obvious, I can't believe there is no way to do it without the help of an app any longer (the ones I checked have ridiculous permissions requirements like total control of absolutely everything on my phone). Is there an app that allows you to deny speaker access Posted: 22 May 2021 01:48 PM PDT I'm looking for an app that allows me to deny specific apps access to my speakers or headsets. Tried looking a little and didn't come up with much. [link] [comments] |
Is there any automated daily shopping (todo-) list, based on time intervals? Posted: 22 May 2021 06:00 AM PDT Say, I want to buy 3 onions every 20 days, and 2 bananas every 40 days. [link] [comments] |
[Request] An app that creates a RSS URL to copy in to my Podcast app Posted: 22 May 2021 03:45 AM PDT Hey! Does anyone know of an app that will create a RSS URL of a website that I can then copy and paste in to my Podcast app? The podcast I want to listen isn't listed in any major app that I can find. So I wondered if I could cheat this way? TIA! [link] [comments] |
Is there an app for weird 3d animations ? Posted: 22 May 2021 07:27 AM PDT So yeah basically iam looking for a simple app where i can upload 3d objects and then warp them and create camera movements. The simpler the better i can't really belive something like that diesn't exist [link] [comments] |
Is there an app to notify me if I've spent 5 minutes continuous on my phone? Posted: 21 May 2021 04:41 PM PDT I've been trying to monitor my phone usage and found all the "important" stuff I do on my phone takes <5 minutes, while my idle scrolling takes much longer. Is there an app that will send me a notification to remind me to get off my phone after 5 minutes of continuous use? [link] [comments] |
Soul Browser: opening links in app Posted: 22 May 2021 06:17 AM PDT The browser is amazing; super fast, customization (bottom bar, tab bar, dark mode, scroll bar, ...), but the only think that annoys me is that Reddit links (for instance), do not open in the Reddit/Boost app I've specified in Android settings [link] [comments] |
Is there an app that lets me temporarily mute texts from one person? Posted: 21 May 2021 04:23 PM PDT I have a family member that I cannot permanently mute because I need to take care of them, but sometimes they go a little off the rocker and text me tons of semi abusive messages. I'm looking for functionality like WhatsApp has where I can mute a chat for a period of time. Is there a way I can accomplish this with Android? [link] [comments] |
[DEV] Going on a plane soon? Help me roll out my new app. Posted: 22 May 2021 10:47 AM PDT Hi all, I am nearly ready to roll out an App that I've been working on for over a year. The app uses your phone's GPS, compass, camera and a whole bunch of map data. It then puts labels on the countries, states, cities, roads, rivers, lakes and airports that you see from your airplane window. The app is called "Window Seat", and I am just wrapping up beta testing. In order to properly roll out my app, I need "collateral" in the form of screenshots. And for this app, you can only get good screenshots if you take them from a plane. You can check out my best shots so far at: https://www.openingapps.com/ws-screenshots If you are going on a plane in the near future, could you take some screenshots of "Window Seat" in action? Then post your best ones to reddit and/or twitter with the hashtag #windowseatapp. [Note that reddit and twitter work best with landscape (horizontal) pictures.] Window Seat for Android will be free through September 2021. You can get the open beta version from: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.openingapps.geoview It's not possible for me to get pictures from everywhere. But you can. Please help. If you want to do more serious testing, I would really appreciate that too. Tester instructions can be found at: https://www.openingapps.com/ws-test There are also links for iphone users on that page. So make sure to tell your Apple-centric friends. And for those of who are still reading, the answer to your question is "yes". The app does work in airplane mode. No data required. No wi-fi required. THANKS! [link] [comments] |
