Posted: 30 Apr 2021 06:28 PM PDT I've been wanting to make a winpe thumb drive for a while, because as far as I can tell, it's the best bootable recovery solution that's out there. I few months ago I stumbled upon Win10XPE, but I couldn't find much information on it, and got worried when an antivirus software flagged it. I was also just reminded about it this morning when I saw a YouTube video about it. Is Win10XPE actually safe? [link] [comments]

Upgrading from Windows 7 to Window 10 Posted: 30 Apr 2021 12:28 PM PDT Hi, I've been really hesitant to upgrade my machine from Windows 7 to Windows 10 b/c I liked 7 so much but I have several programs now that wont run unless I have windows 10. I've tried upgrading through the windows update on my computer but it constantly gets stuck in the process. I can't get to anyone at Microsoft for tech support on the phone and when I checked the support.microsoft site, it says that I'm no longer eligible for an upgrade b/c the free upgrades ended July 29th 2016. I'm willing to buy it if I have to but I'm wondering if there's another solution. It seems kinda crappy to have to pay for a new version of something I already paid for? Also, If i do buy it - will it overwrite everything I have on my existing computer or is it possible to just upgrade the operating system but keep all my programs/files as is? Thanks so much in advance! [link] [comments]

What would be the best way to upgrade windows 8.1 to windows 10? Posted: 30 Apr 2021 08:29 AM PDT Basically the title. I have an older pc that I have wiped and given to my parents. It has windows 8.1 on it and I would love to get it to run windows 10 instead. I was thinking of buying a windows 10 key for a good price, but is there something else I should know? How can I play this old wlmp video? Posted: 30 Apr 2021 11:36 AM PDT Hi! I am not windows savvy at all, and I'm wondering if someone can give me a hand :) Back in high school my best friend and I made a video project in school called "Twerk for Lyfe" and it's saved as a wlmp file. I cannot for the lyfe of me figure out how to convert this file so that I can play it and see how bad it was. We got a D on the project. Does anyone know of a way that I can convert/play this file? Thank you so much! [link] [comments]

Unable to view photos on external hard drive after resetting laptop Posted: 30 Apr 2021 10:05 AM PDT Hey so I had recently restored my laptop to factory settings as it was having problems, but now I'm not able to view any photos and videos I had saved on a external hard drive. Now there is a lock on all the icon of all the videos/photos. When I try to open the file it says "It looks like you don't have permission to view this file. Check permissions an try again.", also when I try to copy the file it says "You require permission from Everyone to make changes to this file". When I try to right click and go to properties on the folder or file there is no 'Security Tab". I've searched everywhere online and don't see any solution. Also I've attempted using another computer still there is a lock on it. [link] [comments]
Please help me fix this bug! (Windows 10) Posted: 30 Apr 2021 10:02 AM PDT I had a problem with my Laptop 1 year ago, at first when i played League of Legends on Fullscreen it always popped up a blue screen and the solution to that was to play on Borderless Windowed mode and i thought that was it. But now, 1 year later, the problem began again but this time it gives me a blue screen at every 'mode' I tried Fullscreen Mode, Windowed mode, Borderless Windowed Mode etc.. I tried fixing it by resetting my PC but it still gives me a blue screen. Any solutions? [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Apr 2021 06:50 AM PDT I just have attached a AX200 wireless WiFi card to my mobo and I was not aware if Windows 10 already already had these drivers for the device on the system. Any information known would be good. [link] [comments]

S0 Stupid Standby on modern laptop during high cpu workload Posted: 30 Apr 2021 05:12 AM PDT What the hell is Microsoft thinking it's been years since they introduced S0 Stupid Standby feature to windows 10 and still in 2021 windows/vendor bios update can't tell the difference between the cpu still working on High cpu work load application or not doing much ready to go idle. During high cpu workload like encoding a video, when the screen timeout the laptop suddenly goes to sleep after screen turn off, (it's already set to never sleep) Unlike the S3 (keep working while screen off) the S0 put the cpu on low power idle and turn off the fan. Its been effecting intel notebook since 8th Gen+++ *asus brand Ps: dear Microsoft if you try copying Apple do it better not turning perfectly fine S3 to S0 Stupid Modern Standby bullshit! How do I turn my computer into a functional camera? Posted: 30 Apr 2021 01:24 AM PDT I am leaving for a few days and Ring from Amazon won't arrive until next week. Essentially, how do I turn my computer into a camera? I won't to be able to remotely access it to allow me to watch my room. It doesn't need to record, I just want the video feed from the camera. I have a Samsung tablet and iPhone. Thank you. [link] [comments]

New motherboard, forced to reformat ? Posted: 29 Apr 2021 08:48 PM PDT Tomorrow I'll be adding in some new hardware, more specifically an RTX 3080, 10850K, and Z490 motherboard to replace my 8600k and 1080. Do I have to reformat ? If yes then I'll definitely grab a hopefully recently updated W10 ISO using Microsofts Windows ISO tool. Also, I have a physically separate drive that's solely used for games, would I be able to simply leave it as is and then just re-direct the appropriate launchers to those directories and run everything like normal ? I know redistributes would have to be reinstalled, but that would be automatic when I launch specific games. [link] [comments] |
