Posted: 30 Apr 2021 04:49 PM PDT This is by far the best phone I've ever had, but OnePlus' support team is making it impossible to stay loyal to the brand. Updates inevitably always include things that take some getting used to - I had a Samsung Galaxy S8 when they rolled out One UI for the first time. But I shouldn't be afraid that installing one will tank my battery life or cause a ton of glitches. This is beyond unacceptable and I don't see this pattern of late, half-baked updates stopping anytime soon. Thanks OnePlus. I really hope you fix this in the future because I'd love to come back. Mostly with: Battery life being awful Phone being slow as hell randomly. I'll be typing in WhatsApp and I'd have a solid 1 second delay between typing and thr text showing I take screenshots or download new images and it'll take 5mins for them to show on gallery Camera gets stuck mid taking picture List could go on. | The One Plus Buds Z are probably the worst piece of electronics I've ever owned. Posted: 30 Apr 2021 05:49 PM PDT ...and I've owned a lot. How are these things so bad? First off the automatically skip constantly. They skip probably every 30 seconds on average. It's insane. If I turn my head more than 60 degrees to the left or right, they pause without fail. Randomly they will just full-on pause for no reason and I need to double tap my bud to get it doing again. Probably once every few minutes or so. Really annoying when my hands are otherwise occupied. Half the time that I put them in my ears, one of the buds will randomly be at double volume compared to the other and I need to put them back in the case and take them back out until I get them both normal volume again. All these issues are extremely common using search here and on the One Plus forums. Yet they've been out for like 7 months and haven't been fixed. I'm sure they never will at this point. If you're thinking about buying, please please stay away and get something better. I stupidly tried to put up with it past my 14 day return window and now I'm stuck with these things. Rained probably no less than 5 minutes. Phone didn't seem entirely too wet all things considered and everything else was working as intended. But as the day has gone on my fingerprint won't scan. It will take sometimes after a couple tries and pressing firmly on the sensor. When I go to add a new fingerprint I get a message saying "the fingerprint area is dirty. All of a sudden I was unable to stream Sling to my phone, network was fine, happened in both WiFi and cell data, it would load whatever video and just get hung up reading 10s in the scrubber. I did not have the problem with Prime video or youtube or watching videos in the chrome browser, really just with Sling. I finally found in the OnePlus forum someone mentioning that turning off the video enhancer in settings helped and it solved my problem so again I just wanted to share this is anyone else is having the same problem. | Fast Charging on 6T is insanely slow all of a sudden? Posted: 30 Apr 2021 05:02 PM PDT So I've had a 6T since launch and my normal charge time from like 20 to 90%ish was always super fast like 30 to 45min. However, today it shows it is fast charging but its taken 2 hours to go from 20 to 90%. Its a OP plug/cable and its never done this before. | (OP7 Pro) Keyboard mis-inputs??? Posted: 30 Apr 2021 07:39 PM PDT When I'm typing with my keyboard I get mis-inputs that I never pressed. For example pressing e once will give me "eee" and sometimes it just presses different keys entirely, like different would be "differeenmt" (there are more letters than the physical taps i input) This bug has been happening on and off on different keyboards (Google, SwiftKey) and on multiple language inputs as well. Most importantly, the screen off gestures have become terrible. They work like 50 percent of the time. Battery life too has taken a nosedive and idle drain is through the roof. | I think it's time to root my Nord N10 5G... Posted: 30 Apr 2021 03:59 PM PDT I've rooted every phone I had since my first android phone, a Motorola Backflip... This is my first OnePlus phone and I tried using it without root because I wanted to be able to pay by NFC without the convoluted hiding games... But the lack of system call recording is getting to me. I find recording my calls so useful that I can't get used to not having a decent recording solution. All the workarounds are problematic (ie no Bluetooth recording) My current solution is to forward my calls to a VOIP provider that can record the calls but it's a kludge. So I may just install Magisk. I'm not looking forward to reinstalling all my apps and settings though. [link] [comments]  | ||
| Oneplus 8 Pro - Let's me add fingerprints but doesn't recognize on lock screen Posted: 30 Apr 2021 11:57 AM PDT A day ago I got my screen replaced because the glass was slightly cracked. After which the fingerprint sensor was working ~50% of the time so I decided to delete my fingerprints and re-add them. Now I can't unlock my phone with my fingerprint (or use my fingerprint with my Chase app, so I assume it would be the same for another app) even though it let's me add one no problem. Anything besides the fingerprint setup gives me a "Not Recognized" error. I've tried:

| Unable to connect to gogo Wi-Fi Posted: 30 Apr 2021 06:11 AM PDT Op9 pro, not rooted. For some reason, I'm unable to connect to an open Wi-Fi.... gogo inflight Wi-Fi on Delta Airlines. My laptop is able to connect to the gogo Wi-Fi network and login to my gogo account just fine. I've tried rebooting the phone, forget the gogo network and reconnecting. Suddenly today the screen gets a yellow tint on it. I thought nothing of it, maybe just reboot and it'll be fine. Seconds later my screen starts flickering and being unresponsive. I had a Samsung before this and the screen on that offed itself in 6 months. And before that a Pixel which lasted me 3 years. I guess I'm going back to Google.
