I need a thin and lightweight laptop... M1 MacBook Air or any AMD Ryzen ultrabook? Posted: So, I need to buy a thin and lightweight laptop, but I don't know which one would be the best... My main preference is I don't want it to be hot while I use it, because otherwise, it gets uncomfortable to use and I hate that. I will mostly use it for web browsing, some office suites (Microsoft Office/LibreOffice), some coding and maybe some light gaming from time to time (the games I only play, have a native version for MacOS, so that's not a concern for me). I have heard a lot of people saying how great is the new M1 processor in terms of CPU temperature, performance and power usage, but is this really true? I could also go for an AMD Ryzen ultrabook as I will have compatibility with every software, but, I don't really know if the CPU temperature will be high. My perfect temperature range would be 30ºC - 55ºC, if it's higher than that, it starts to get hot for me. Of course, I expect to have 30ºC - 55ºC when doing light tasks like web browsing, but when it comes to gaming, it's ok if it gets around 70ºC. What should I do? Which light laptop should I get if I care that much about the CPU temperature? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: My system: asus g15 i7-10870h RTX 2060, 144hz 8gb ram single So I get this laptop about a month ago, it's pretty good I installed all the drivers and everything but when I game I feel it's performance it's not enough, I feel like I am missing something, I check other laptops with less specs and they have better fps and performance than me Does putting another ram will make a big difference? My thermals for cpu is 69-78/ gpu is 67-73 While playing fortnite performance mode [link] [comments]

Posted: Hello! Im looking to buy a quality laptop that can run games decently well. Im looking for at least 586 GB SSD, and i don't want to go over 700 dollars. As of now im looking at the "Acer Aspire 5 Slim" which has 16GB DDR4 and 1TB of SSD. It also has the AMD Radeon Vega 3 graphics coprocessor, and 2.6 GHZ clocking speed. Is this a computer that would run games well? If not, any recommendations on the cheaper side that will? [link] [comments]
Posted: So, here's what I want a laptop to do (there's wiggle room since I'm not sure how possible most of this is):
And yeah that's about it. Which of those 2 laptops comes closer to fulfilling those specifications? If they both fill them completely (very unlikely) which does it better? [link] [comments]
Posted: I've been looking for a laptop for a while and seeing these 2080 super laptops drop in price makes it harder for me. I've been specifically looking at the MSI GE66 with an i7 and 3070 compared to lenovo legion 7i with an i7 and a 2080 super and im wondering if anyone can help at which one is better at performance? [Buying Help] 3060 Zephyrus g14 vs Eluktronics mech-15 g3 2070/super vs Hp omen 3070 Posted: I want a laptop that will last during regular use and be able to handle my games when I . I would like something thats going to last for a while and keep up with newer games. I do have a desktop so I'm not trying to replace that just going to be traveling a lot. I don't know what the omen battery is like but I'm thinking it might be the best choice. The mech 15 has mux switch and optimus. well i guess 2070 super is better than the 3070 so i dont know [link] [comments]
Is it normal for a charging cable to be a higher voltage than the internal battery? Posted: I'm a little bit of a tech noob (though planning on building a pc in the new year) and I've been looking for a replacement battery for a discontinued (?) HP Envy Convertible all week (I need it for university and I'm too broke right now to outright replace the system). I think I've finally found a reputable source but every single battery I've seen is a 15.5v, and my charger is 19.5v. As far as I can tell it's normal for the power supply to be a little higher to bypass resistors or whatever, but I'd like a seond opinion? Is this normal? For context to why I don't know my own battery voltage; I have tried to pop the back of the system off and get a look inside, but HP are scummy and my model for some insane reason is super difficult to get into (I have the tools but none of the touch). I don't want to force anything and break it, so I thought it'd be best left to someone who knows what they're doing ✌ (PS; probability that my laptop will explode?) [link] [comments]
Flow X13 or Zephyrus G14 - What should I buy? Posted: Ehi! I am buying a new laptop and I hope you can help with the choice (coming from many years form mac). The choice is very limited at the moment in my country, but I could find these two. The price is the same, I am not sure what to go for:
The Zephyrus actually looks much better (though I really like the touchscreen of the Flow), the only thing is an older gen cpu. Should I go for it? Thanks! [link] [comments]

The HP with a student discount is $897.50 but dell unfortunately doesn't offer any so it's $1126.99 I'm having a really hard time deciding between the two of them and would appreciate your opinion [link] [comments]

Need new work laptop - Software Dev & Photography (Photo/Video Editing) Posted:
Less than 2k (but 1500ish would be ideal) in the USA
Yes, if they come with a warranty
Performance, Battery Life, Build Quality, Form Factor
15"+
Photo Editing, Software Development. Adobe Creative Suite, Visual Studio/VSCode, Local Servers.
Possibly flight simulators. No idea on settings. Not much of a gamer.
4k screen with extra wide color gamut, IPS panel, and high color accuracy.
This will be primarily used for software development. When at my desk, I'll be using an external monitor, so something that I can hook to a dock to run the monitor and peripherals. Anything less than 16gb of RAM seems to bog down, so that's a minimum. [link] [comments]
Is G sync necessary when running a 240 hz display ? Posted: I'm looking to buy a laptop... and i heard of screen tearing... so is G-sync a must to avoid such screen problems? My target laptop is: MSI GE75 with 10750h and an RTX 2070 super. Will the both the cpu and gpu be compatible running with a 17" 240 hz FHD IPS screen matte anti glare with no G-sync ? Thanks ahead for your answers Wish you a great day [link] [comments] |
