Why do we have to pay for RMA shipping? Can someone explain to me? Posted: 01 Feb 2021 01:53 AM PST I personally have to pay 40-45€ to ship it to the RMA center (Europe). And I paid 65€ for the item just 6 months ago. I might as well just buy brand new ones. But even if it was 5€ why do WE have to pay for the shipping when it's THEIR fault the item was defective? What is the logic here? I truly do not understand, really. How on earth is it consumer's problem? I asked G.Skill (ram sticks) and they are not even willing to give a pre-paid label or cover 50% despite how much I have to pay for the delivery. Not to mention this is the second time I have a G.Skill ram set die on me within 2 years which I didn't even bother RMA-ing back then for similar reasons. It's disgusting. Are gaming chairs worth the invesment or is only marketing? Posted: 01 Feb 2021 02:56 PM PST Hello guys, I want to upgrade my current chair with a new one. Here's the thing, I sit like around 8 hours since I am a developer, I play games and do work so im basicaly seeted all day (I exersice frequently and strech every hour cause I still don't buy the whole standing desk) so I want a truly comfortable chair. I wanted to get a gaming chair, a not so expensive one, because where I live they are really expensive. The thing is, I have seen that some people don't recommend them mainly because it isn't that big of a deal, that they are just marketing. What do you guys think? Hope you guys have some recommendations, if you do, send me a link to a chair you really liked or that has lasted you very long. Thanks :) [link] [comments]
Can someone explain how I am going to move Windows 10 to other pc Posted: 01 Feb 2021 03:37 AM PST I am going to be building my first pc because i bought a prebuilt 4 years ago. I upgraded that prebuilt with a rtx 2070 super but it was being bottlenecked by my bad cpu. Now i have the money to upgrade. I've bought all the parts for my pc and they are arriving soon. The two things i want to move to my new pc is my GPU and my HDD(i dont have an SSD on my current pc). My HDD is old and slow but it has all my games and everything on it. I was wondering how i can transfer windows to the new SSD but still keep all the games if possible. Sorry i am new to this. I stil want to keep the HDD [link] [comments]

I'm a novice builder with a $1500 budget -- I'd appreciate any advice on my build! Posted: 01 Feb 2021 07:02 AM PST Hi Reddit, I want to build a new gaming PC, and I have a budget of approximately $1,500. Below is a list of the parts I have picked out so far. I am not in a rush to build, so I am not worried about supply issues. Please let me know if you think there are better alternatives! Is it common for multiple parts to be DOA or just randomly die out of seemingly nowhere? Posted: 01 Feb 2021 10:36 AM PST I've been building PCs since I was in high school and every single PC I have ever build has come with a product that was DOA. My PC previous to the one I have now, had RAM DOA, I had to RMA my graphics card like 10 times over the course of my warranty. I'm sure sapphire saw my emails and was like "Not her again." But it seems like I'm just incredibly unlucky this time around. It started with a motherboard DOA. Then the replacement motherboard was DOA. So I got a refund and bought a different brand. All good until I realized my CPU cooler was not pumping the liquid cooler. Fans were spinning, but my PC idled on 90c. So I got a new CPU cooler. Guess what? That one was DOA too! Ended up getting mad and just buying an air cooler. PC worked for a year until my motherboard stopped recognizing the ethernet cord out of nowhere. No one touched the PC. It was working fine the night before. My mobo just decided it didn't like ethernet cords anymore. I replaced the ethernet cord. I plugged it into my laptop. I tried resetting the adapter numerous times, using canned air on it. Eventually I gave up and bought a wifi adapter. Now my graphics card is dying and I cant RMA it since the warranty expired last year. It just seems like one thing after another. At least when I had to RMA my GPU multiple times, it ended up just my CPU not liking my GPU. It was usable, I just had it crash at least once a day. I take care of my PC. I baby the parts and make sure to ground myself before touching them, but every single time, I have had multiple parts fail. I can't take it anymore. I'm sick of constantly RMAing everything. I'm sick of wondering if I messed up, or if it's just another broke part sent to me. I just want a PC that works the way its supposed to on the first try. I have ate hundreds due to return shipping and replacing parts due to the parts constantly failing conveniently right when the warranty ends. Am I just extremely unlucky or this a common thing amongst PC builders? If it is, I don't know how you guys do it. I just want to know because I dont want to sink money into another PC in the future just for it to have 2 or 3 parts DOA. I'd rather buy a prebuilt at that point. Does the Ryzen 3700x need thermal paste or will the stock cooler paste do the trick? Posted: 01 Feb 2021 02:51 PM PST I'm building a PC for a friend and I can't really remember if the stock cooler paste is enough (my friend won't do any OC). When I got my 2700x I also bought some Thermal Grizzly to be sure, but I haven't really kept up with the topic. [link] [comments]

Is this build a good offer or should build myself? #Good vibes only Posted: 01 Feb 2021 03:35 PM PST I will be mainly using the PC for gaming/streaming and video editing. Here is the PC BUILD: https://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/system/weekly-sales-I Should i buy this pre build or build myself? Should I change any components before buying? I'm a bit worried about building it myself as i've never done it before and I don't know much about hardware. Thank you for the help! Newegg Shuffle "Winner" here :P Posted: 01 Feb 2021 04:26 PM PST Hi guys, pointless post but I just put an order in for an rtx 3070 I won on the shuffle, I'm pretty excited! Looking to upgrade i7 9700k and GTX 1080 soonish? Posted: 01 Feb 2021 04:25 PM PST Hey guys, Just looking at some options for upgrading my computer. I'm not in a hurry at the moment since all GPUs are being sold out instantly and the local stores that sell computer parts are either sold right away online or there's a line before they open. So right now I'm just looking at options at what I could upgrade to in the near? future. The reason I want to upgrade is just like everyone else's, looking for the next best thing even though I don't really NEED it hence I'm not really in a hurry. Currently, I'm running a GTX 1080 with an i7 9700k. My current motherboard only supports ups to 9th gen CPUs. I was looking at the i9 9900k but from what I've read it's not that great of an upgrade. Is it just better to just wait until I upgrade my motherboard to one that supports a 10th gen CPU and get like an i9 10850k? Ideally, I would want something like an RTX 3070. Or I think AMD's equivalent the RX 6800? But again, that's if I am able to get my hands on one of them for a decent price. I was also looking at the RX5700 XT. Is that something worth looking into and getting? I've been told the stores in my area are getting a decently steady supply of them. Are the RTX 2000s worth looking into or just wait for some 3000s/AMD ones to become available Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated [link] [comments]
USB 3.0 header won't go all the way in? Posted: 01 Feb 2021 01:23 PM PST I almost finished building my PC, but I got stalled by the USB 3.0 header. I have an MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX with a USB 3.2 Gen1 port, which to my knowledge is compatible with the 3.0. However, when I plug the cable in, there is still some space between the socket and the header. It looks like the tab that goes into the notch prevents the header from going further. Is this normal? All other cables don't leave any space in-between. Here's a photo: https://postimg.cc/zVmzsqrd [link] [comments]

Fractal Design Meshify C Front Mesh Panel Posted: 01 Feb 2021 03:50 PM PST I have been trying to find a red front mesh panel for the fractal meshify c for months. Does anyone know where I could possibly find one? I've been going through dozens of pc parts store pages from all over the place and I can't find any in stock. Help would be much appreciated. Is it better to sell components separately or bundled? Posted: 01 Feb 2021 03:41 PM PST I have my old setup (motherboard, CPU, and RAM) that I don't need anymore and was going to sell it. It is not worth a whole lot but have seen all of it go for around $100-$150 on ebay both combined or separately. I am wondering if it is better to sell it all together or do most people look to buy each component separately? [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Feb 2021 05:37 AM PST (Sorry for my english in advance) I have a MSI RX580 ARMOR OC 8GB and I want to buy the same one , but the graphics card market in my contury is a problem (and I think everywhere) so I cant buy it. The question is if I can buy the same model of the graphics card but not from MSI let's say ASUS , will it work in crossfire. I know it should work in theory but I don't wanna risk it. Posted: 01 Feb 2021 01:58 PM PST Hi everyone, so I want to get a pc to play video games competitively and have been researching the parts I need so that I have a good understanding of the build. My question is if, as a beginner to this realm, I should build the pc myself or have a professional company build it. Thank you. [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Feb 2021 08:50 AM PST What was supposed to be only a GPU and PSU upgrade, ended up being almost a new build. After getting my 6800XT at a just ok price I decided to also have RGB sticks for the ram which end up meaning that I had to change my CPU cooler because the previous one was over the rams which will block the light. I end up getting this ID Cooling cooler which is slim enough that doesn't cover anything and according to some reviews, works great. After finishing all, first boot got me a black screen. After some troubleshooting I found that one of the ram sticks was not installed all the way through, so that fixed it. Rest of the issues were RGB related. First, OpenRGB and Armory Crate only detected 3 of the 4 sticks, I was just about to call it a mobo issue, but installed MOD which was the tool recommended by Crucial and I was able to get it working. Also, because Cooler Master download links are all down, I wasn't able to install the tool needed to control the GPU RGB so I'm stuck with the default configuration. Main thing I would do different is going for RGB fans instead of ARGB, because with the first ones I can get a controller and have them work better together. Now they all work as if they were one, and I couldn't find any good controller for all of them.
I'm from Argentina, so prices can look weird. Pics: [link] [comments]

New to PC gaming. Please help me out :) Posted: 01 Feb 2021 03:13 PM PST Hi all, im super new to upgrading my pc. Im looking to upgrade my Dell Optiplex 9010 PC. It has Intel i5 (3770 i believe), 16 gbs ddr3 ram and a 500 GB SSD and im looking to upgrade it. In particular im looking for a new graphics card and maybe an upgrade in ram (perhaps an upgrade in anything else to make it all work). I really just want to be able to run a few video games a little better, and maybe in the future attach a third monitor. Please let me know any suggestions :) (also dont judge me if im a little dumb with my PC knowledge, i just recently got into it and dont know much, also, I just need to have some basic gaming capabilities with it). Fucked up my brand new 3070's temps after repaste. Tried everything, please help Posted: 01 Feb 2021 04:38 AM PST TL;DR I failed to apply "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". I'll keep this as short as possible, it's a RTX 3070 PNY Gaming Revel that I got a month ago. In the same benchmark (superposition 4k), my highest temp shot up from 66 to 73 at the same settings, score went down from 10800 to 10200, and the fan is considerably louder. Paste is Arctic MX-4. I've successfully repasted other GPUs before with significant improvement so I know more or less what I'm dealing with. Retried the application 3 times with various paste amounts, improved slightly with more paste but nowhere near the original temps. Case airflow is good, same as before. All 3 fans are working, same as before. Same driver versions, same settings, everything. The only point of failure at this point seems to be the paste, does MX-4 perform particularly bad for GPUs? Should I get a thermal grizzly kryonaut? Still, how can MX-4 be worse than whatever generic paste they're using in the factory? Another point to consider is that maybe I didn't tighten the main 4 screws as hard as they were out of the factory, I don't have access to a battery powered screwdriver right now, maybe it wasn't enough by hand force. Feel free to suggest other things for me to try and unfuck my gpu. [link] [comments]
