Blocking FaceBook/Instagram/Whatapp etc Apps on phones, but not on PC. Posted: 28 Jan 2021 10:39 AM PST With the recent ToS updates for the facebook related apps, I'd like to block them from connecting to my home network. My family and I have removed them all from our phones, but I don't want extended family or friends who might have my wifi keys being able to connect to them via my network. That being said, my retiree father spends most of his day on Facebook on his laptop buying and selling stuff locally to keep his mind busy. I don't want to deny him being able to do that. Is there a way to block all the apps, but not block access to Facebook through a PC browser? Thanks very much for your time. [link] [comments]
Getting BSOD with ASUS X79-DELUXE MOBO - Is It RAM or MOBO Problem? Posted: 28 Jan 2021 09:36 AM PST Hi All, I currently have ASUS X-79-Deluxe w/Intel Core i7-4930K. Currently using Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB DDR3 SDRAM Memory Module 48 GB of 6 x 8 GB - DDR3 SDRAM - 2133 MHz (CMD32GX3M4A2133C9). Not a full set of 8 RAM Modules, only 6. All has been working fine for many years, but now I keep getting random BSOD. Windows Reported it was a hardware memory issue. So I went into BIOS, and it reported the following: DIMM A1 OK DIMM A2 OK DIMM B1 OK DIMM B2 OK DIMM C1 as "Abnormal". DIMM C2 n/a (as no ram module installed) DIMM D1 OK DIMM D2 n/a (as no ram module installed) So thinking it was a faulty RAM module, I removed RAM Module in C1, and then moved the RAM Module in D1 to C1. This then reported DIMM slot A1 as ABNORMAL. So I started removing RAM modules, dusting out the DIMM slots, putting RAM modules in different slots, but always one DIMM slot would appear as ABNORMAL. Finally got the MOBO to report no ABNORMAL by removing 1 RAM Module from the motherboard and keeping the rest of the RAM Modules in the following config: DIMM A1 OK DIMM A2 OK DIMM B1 OK DIMM B2 OK DIMM C1 n/a (as no ram module installed) DIMM C2 n/a (as no ram module installed) DIMM D1 OK DIMM D2 n/a (as no ram module installed) My question is, should I be looking to replace the RAM Modules or is this most likely a motherboard issue? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Jan 2021 02:20 AM PST I recently bought a new custom pc , it was fine for the first few weeks but after 1 month it started getting BSODs once a week, and i thought the frequency kept increasing but i only get bsod when im browsing the internet. I have never gotten a BSOD while playing games. i know minidump files will be required to solve a issue like this but i don't know how to post the minidumps in here , so i hope someone can tell me how to. BIOS Corrupt!! [NEED URGENT HELP] Posted: 27 Jan 2021 08:08 PM PST Recently my motherboard BIOS got corrupted while flashing a new one! But thankfully I have access to BIOS backup I made a month ago using BIOS BackupTools12, (got from Bios-mods.com). BIOS image was created successfully, But I don't know if I can use that image with eeprom programmer? Is there any possibility, that flashing that image will work? [link] [comments]

3060ti Not Showing Up in Device Manager Posted: 27 Jan 2021 04:17 PM PST I just got a 3060ti and I installed it today. I tried switching over to the ports in the card but I was getting no signal. Then I realized it didn't even show up in my device manager. It is plugged in correctly and I have enough power to it. I used an i7-10700's integrated graphics prior this GPU. I tried disabling the integrated graphics in my BIOS but that didn't do anything. Please help if you can. [link] [comments]
