App that records last X seconds of your gaming moments with one or two actions

    Posted: 02 Jan 2021 02:52 AM PST

Howdy, i've been googling for apps like this, there seems to exist one for iphones but i have yet to see anything similar on android. I have been through alot of topics and threads, from 2012 and onwards and nothing came about.

So does anything like this exist on android? If it does, can someone recommend an app? All i see is apps to record full sessions and then edit, and that looks like a PITA to deal with as i really want to save X amount of seconds when something occurs. I'm a gamer from other platforms and got used to saving clips on xbox one/ps4 and pc with a single/double button press with little editing to do (usually i only have to cut off a couple of seconds to make a short clip of the moment, unless it is a large one).

    Exercise Journal/Tracker App

    Posted: 02 Jan 2021 03:48 AM PST

    Hi everyone,

I couldn't exactly find what i was looking for in the most popular stuff online. I am looking for the following functionalities in an app:

    1. I can input different exercises with different parameters - reps, sets, kilograms, seconds (for plank for example), time and distance for cardio etc etc
    2. It can track the progress and make simple timeline visualizations of say kilograms used for dumbell curls or distance ran or similar stuff
    3. Can act as a sort of a checklist on a weekly basis and promote rotating all of your exercises - say you haven't done your squats and the app gives you a reminder to do then or gives you a sorted list of exercises sorted by how long you haven't done them for.

Is there anything like that out there? I appreciate the help!

sort notifications for an app as oldest on top?

    Posted: 02 Jan 2021 10:02 AM PST

Im using a todo app and I want the oldest notification to appear first, while the newest notification to appear last – reason for this is because I want to prioritize the firt todo as highest priority, so I want it to be the notification that appears first – is there any app which lets you sort notifications for a particular app?

Is there an app that makes it easier to manage all notification settings on one place? For example, it can display a list all apps that have permission to blink the phone light and let you disable all or selected ones without going to settings for each app?

Looking for a simple app to edit stock icon colors.

    Posted: 02 Jan 2021 09:49 AM PST

Looking for pretty much a simple image editing app or even PC software that allows me to load up an icon, select different sections of the icon, change the colors, and then save and apply that icon to the app. Also it would be nice to be able to change the icon shape. I'm aware of custom app packs but I'm going for the stock icon look with just different colors to match a color scheme I'm going for and nothing out there I've found is close.

Seems like a pretty simple concept and something that should exist but I've found nothing.

Using Android 10 on a Moto G Power. Thanks in advance!

Is there an app that takes timed photos (every 3-5 seconds like having an intervalometer in-camera) with the screen off, while also using autofocus?

    Posted: 02 Jan 2021 03:45 AM PST

    Hi,

I have found several apps that take timed photos, however, either they don't use autofocus, or they don't work while the screen is off.

    Thanks in advance!

[Dev] Pomodoro Central - Focus Timer

    Posted: 02 Jan 2021 05:29 AM PST

Hi everyone, I've been working steadily on Pomodoro Central. A focus timer that uses integrations heavily, such as with Jira, Trello, Azure Boards, Fogbugz, and Mantis. One of the core features I added was integration with Spotify, this will allow you to use music as your timer, rather than the default ticking sound. One heavily requested feature I am working on and should be released within the next week or so, is Do Not Disturb mode. It would be great to hear your thoughts on the App.

Productivity App that makes you think twice before opening an app, when overusing it or/and when unlocking your phone (Dev & Request)

    Posted: 02 Jan 2021 11:27 AM PST

    Hello r/androidapps,

My name is Jonas, 20 y.o and I programmed an productivity app called iChooseTo (iCT).Basically it's a screen like I tried to draw here:

(Drawing with ASCII-symbols doesn't work in reddit posts, I had to discover)

A message and two buttons. Very simple. It shows this screen on different occasions (you can select):
    - When you open an app (e.g. YT, Chrome, Reddit) which you've chosen from a list.
    - When you use an app for more than a certain amount of time (you can choose)
    - When you unlock your phone

Also, you can set a duration (some seconds) which you have to wait before you can click on "continue". During this time only the message and the option to "close the app" are shown.

You can download the app here, please don't let yourself put off by the outdated screenshots or my very bad video I did. I already posted here weeks before and thanks to the feedback of some of you guys I was able to greatly improve the layout and even functionality. Because I'm so grateful for you help you can use the code "androiddev" to activate the full version of my app forever (just enter it in the settings->voucher-code).

Please give feedback on the functionality, if everything works fine and reach out to me if you have suggestions for improvement or if there are any errors. I'm thankfull to you all, it's my first app I ever released and I wouldn't even have the 100+ installs without you guys!

    Kind regards,
    Jonas

    Alternative Notification Manager/Log App

    Posted: 02 Jan 2021 07:19 AM PST

    Hello all,
I'm looking for an alternative to FilterBox to manage my notification. Specifically an app to show notifications in user controlled time intervals and also keep a log for the same.
Previously I was using Daywise but I'm done with it.

I am looking for something opensource or if the app has ads to support developer(s) that's absolutely fine but I will not g for subscriptions.

    Thanks in advance

[Promo Codes] Ultra Push Ups - An automated way to keep track of your push ups, burned calories, and exercise duration.

    Posted: 01 Jan 2021 08:06 PM PST

    Hi Everyone,

Happy New Year! Most of us would have set the fitness goal for 2021 and If you are one of them, I have created a simple app for you to get into regular push-ups habits. I have created an app called Ultra Push Ups and it helps you to keep track of the push-ups and log them.

Place your mobile near your forehead alignment position while doing a push-ups workout. Ultra Push Ups will automatically count each of your push-ups as you complete them using the proximity sensor on your mobile.

Ultra Push Ups app is having the following features,

    1. Automatically detects your push-ups and logs them

    2. Customize the number of sets, number of push-ups count per set, and rest time

    3. Badges for completing the challenges

    4. Analyze the push-ups count, calories burned, exercise duration, and average count on various timelines like daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly.

    5. Dark mode support

    6. Daily reminders

You can get the free app at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.miragestacks.ultrapushups and If you have any feedback/suggestions for the app, please let me know.

Also, I am providing the promo codes of the ad-free pro version of the app for the Reddit community here. Please comment below to grab one in a private message.

How to run Android TV apps on phone?

Any idea guys? I'd like to install Spotify for Android TV on old LG g6 and use it as spotify streamer. I know that I can cast Spotify to normal android version of app but I can't adjust volume in this case, which should be available while casting to Android tv version of app.

App to only record sleep time?

    Posted: 02 Jan 2021 01:33 AM PST

I want to measure how many hours of sleep I get a night. I used to use Sleepmeter free but since upgrading to Android 11 the widget no longer works.

What it used to do was note the sleep start time (10 minutes after putting the phone on charge between certain hours) and sleep end time (taking it off charge), and showing the number of sleep hours per night. That's all I'm looking for.

I'm not interested in any of the other features a lot of sleep trackers offer (like "quality" of sleep, etc), although if they're easy to ignore then that's fine. I don't mind paying for the app.

Any suggestion? Or should I just resort to having Macrodroid create a csv file of times for me?

Looking for a good no-nonsense daily journal type of app

    Posted: 01 Jan 2021 08:13 PM PST

I've never dealt with daily journals/diaries or whatever they are called these days.

Even though im middle-aged, Ive now considered writing down things in a daily journal. My memory is failing me at times lately, so i figured this might be a good way to write down my everyday thoughts etc.

Im just looking for a good simple app that can perform this, without the added garbage (intrusiveness, nag screens, security issues, etc etc).

Would be even better if it was easy to export the info i enter in case i ever need to switch apps for any reason.

Id even be open to paying a small yearly subscription fee if it was good enough.

    Thanks

Use share screen and phone camera with webex mobile app on online classes

    Posted: 02 Jan 2021 05:50 AM PST

I don't know if this subreddit is the right one for my post but it's about an android app so I'll try anyway. Please redirect me to a better subreddit if I'm wrong.

I need to use Webex application to show a power point presentation via share screen. The problem is that I can't use my laptop for it and need to do it using my android phone.

Another requirement is that I have to keep the web camera on while I speak.

The problem is that always when I change from the webex mobile app to the powerpoint app my phone camera stops working and my professor can't see me anymore but can still see my presentation and hear me talking.

How can I switch to the powerpoint app and keep my camera on while speaking at the same time, using webex app?

    Thank you for your time!

App to backup from Android phone to FTP of my choice?

    Posted: 02 Jan 2021 09:17 AM PST

    Hi all,

I'd like to back up my data more robustly and rather than rely on Google cloud or w/e I'd like to specify my own FTP and backup there.

Is there an app I can just aim at a specific folder of my choosing that'll backup the folders I select on my phone to... that folder?
