Posted: 21 Jan 2021 07:00 PM PST I'll keep this short Context: I bought a pre-built gaming pc about 5 years ago and I'm building a completely new system because all of the parts in that pre-built are too old to use except for the graphics card. The pre-built already came with windows 10 installed. (As of right now parts are still coming in for my new gaming pc) The main question: I was wondering if I would lose anything worth keeping if I got a new windows 10 os on my new pc? Secondary question: If the answer to the first question is yes, to keep windows 10, how would I go about transferring files and windows 10 from my hard-drive in my pre-built to my m.2 ssd In my new pc? Thank you. [link] [comments]
Looking for fast video cutting program Posted: 21 Jan 2021 03:12 PM PST I've got premiere pro but sometimes I just need to cut out a small portion of a clip and opening up premiere is just too much of a hassle. I'm looking for a fast program that'll let me quickly cut up a video and export it. (I've tried cutting with VLC but it's really inaccurate and annoying to use) [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Jan 2021 04:59 PM PST I uploaded a file to a canvas quiz in a chrome browser on a computer running windows 10, but the file was not received. Is there a way to find evidence of this file upload? I found the error message ESENT 455 in the application folder of event viewer around the approximate time of upload. Is this related? How do I know which partition my OS (Win 10) is in? Posted: 21 Jan 2021 12:04 PM PST Hi! I cloned successfully everything from my old HDD to the new SSD I bought. I actually cared only about cloning my OS since I want to keep the HDD for the storage, but I followed a tutorial in which was recommended to use Macrium Reflect, and I couldn't tell in which partition was located on my OS (because no partition was named "Windows"), so I decided to clone everything. I've also already changed the booting priorities from the BIOS, but now I would like to delete everything that is not needed for booting the operating system from the SSD, 'cause it doesn't make sense to have two copies of hundreds of data while using both the hard disks. So I went to "disk management" to delete the biggest partition from the SSD, but I saw that I have not the option for erasing it, and I suspect that's because it contains the OS I'm running right now. I have two questions for you guys, if you please could help me:
Thank you in advance :) EDIT: added requested screenshots I'm sorry it is in Italian, in the first screenshot my cursor points to "Elimina volume" which means "Delete volume" [link] [comments]

Corrupted Windows 10.. help please Posted: 21 Jan 2021 03:35 PM PST So windows 10 is corrupted. I tried everything but nothing works. So now I want to start fresh. I can dowload the media installation tool on my xbox but can't configure it because Xbox cant run .exe files. I don't have friends who can let me configure it on their computer and the public library is closed due to Covid. Is there a place where I can download already configured windows installation files? That way I can download them to my xbox and then move the files to my USB flash drive? [link] [comments]
Question: Microsoft Edge Updates Posted: 21 Jan 2021 03:15 PM PST There was recently a Microsoft Edge (chromium based) vulnerability published by Microsoft. Since we use a third party patch management tool, would I be looking for a Chrome update that fixes this or is it included in a standard Windows KB? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Are there any blank keys to bind onto my mouse? Posted: 21 Jan 2021 03:09 PM PST Are there any blank/no effect keys like scroll lock that I could bind to my mouse that don't have any effects. Currently I have random letters bound to my mouses extra buttons but its obviously not ideal. [link] [comments]
Windows 20H2 Version Update Breaking Audio Posted: 21 Jan 2021 02:36 PM PST As the title states, it seems the windows 20H2 update is breaking audio on some PCs. I am an IT employee and have over the past week updated three different computers to 20H2 that resulted in audio breaking on the PC. These PCs are also different make and model, two HP X360s and one Dell XPS13. The only correlation between these three PCs and their audio issues is that they occur on startup after 20H2 installation. Could be coincidence but seems unlikely. Anyone else experiencing this problem? Thanks. [link] [comments]
Missing Bluetooth Driver. Tried everything but can't seem to fix. Posted: 21 Jan 2021 02:26 PM PST My Bluetooth driver somehow went missing. It doesn't appear in the device manager and installing it from the manufacturers website does no good. I can't seem to get around this problem. Any help would be appreciated. How can I add google calendar to desktop like on this picture or close to it? Posted: 21 Jan 2021 05:01 AM PST I got a google calendar account which I use. I also use windows 10. How can I put my calendar on the desktop like on the following screenshot (or something like that)? I've experimented with the calendar app that comes with w10 but haven't managed to make it stay on desktop like that. https://qph.fs.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-add6dcf0ea0ae35ebde97a3caa118236 [link] [comments]

Calendar App (that isn't Outlook) Posted: 21 Jan 2021 01:00 PM PST So, normally Outlook would be totally fine. But here's my situation: I've got a gmail account, two academic accounts that use Exchange, and a work account that uses exchange. My real "calendar" is my work account, but sometimes academic calendar gets stuff on it to. I need to be able to see all of these at once. What I want to avoid is my work e-mail on my private computer, and my work contacts on my private computer. When I add my calendar to Outlook, that's what happens. On Mac, I used Fantastical. I'd like something that is an actual "program" on the computer, rather than something browser based. Any ideas? Thanks so much, [link] [comments]

How do I know which Display card is compatible? Posted: 21 Jan 2021 11:36 AM PST I'm not exactly familiar with how most pc's work, but I have a Acer Windows 10 usually only want to use it to play a specific game, or any game for that matter, my old laptop could run heavier games. it doesn't seem to work except only on 7fps which is obviously unplayable, when I checked my video card it was set on "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" again not really familiar with this stuff, but I think I can guess that it's pretty old, I tried updating it and it used that it was the latest, and when I checked online it said that this Display Adapter is from 2006. Then I went on Nvidia to get a new video card, but none were compatible and I have no idea how to figure out the right one. Edit: the new graphics card I downloaded has made the game I'm trying to play run way better than the Basic Display Adapter, but it is still runs on low FPS, This is a Acer Aspire E1-571 Laptop, I only ask for suggestions for good gaming graphic cards at the moment. Windows 7 shutdown prompt disable Posted: 21 Jan 2021 11:21 AM PST Not sure what's going I've tried multiple ways of turning this off. In task scheduler. But I have a vbs script running on windows 7. Every few minutes or so a shut down prompt shows up and completely breaks the loop I have the script running. Anyway to stop this? Attached a picture for reference. Windows 10 - cant drag and drop any audio files Posted: 21 Jan 2021 11:17 AM PST So I've been using mac the past year because my college course (audio) made every student buy a mac. I recently graduated and decided to buy a PC (prebuilt gaming pc). As i use my computer mostly for music stuff i quickly ran into a problem. Windows wont let me drag any audio that comes from a compressed file into anything (my daws(music software), my emails, nothing) To fix this I've had to use my macbook, uncompress the audio and then send it via email to my PC. Which can be a pain if I'm trying to send song stems which could be like 40 separate .wav's. I read some things online saying to fix this in my daw i need to change security settings in my daws properties, but that didnt work and i quickly realized it wasn't a daw issue but an issue with any part of my pc. does anyone have suggestions on how to fix this?
