Calendar + ToDo list all in one app?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 06:46 AM PST

Hello, I'm looking for an app that has a calendar + todo list, pretty much like Any.do. I love the design of it, it's super clean and very easy to use but it's too expensive.

I'm able to spend for an app, but not that much.

    Any ideas?

Google Rewards used to tell me exactly how much of my balance was going to expire on a particular day. Now it only says "part" of my balance will expire on that day instead of the $ amount. That's not nearly as helpful. Has anyone else noticed this change? Is there a way to find the exact amount?

    Screen to Gif App?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 12:10 PM PST

I am looking to swap phones from a Galaxy Note 8 to Sony. One of the features I really enjoy in Samsung camera is the side panel that allows me to create gifs and selective screenshots extremely fast.

Is there an app that replicates this?

Kind of dumb questions about suspicious apps and or malware

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 01:37 AM PST

I downloaded inshot for a quick edit but heard that it was spyware that data mined you, like cheetah mobile apparently. Whenever I searched up posts like this where the apps are malware but still on the app store people generally say to delete it. So assuming that the data mining spyware claims are true, is it enough to just delete the app, or do you have to reset, or do you have to be turbo paranoid and root it or something?

Common sense is telling me that its enough to just delete it and that factory resetting is overkill but I figured I'd get some opinions here first.

Also does spyware/data mining mean that they can get your passwords or is it more like internet cookies and location stuff?

Is there an app that records me over a beat?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 10:42 AM PST

If it's a saved beat it would'nt save the beat, if it's an online beat it would download it.

This would be huge for singers!

So Google sent me an Email saying that if I don't use my Play store balance soon, they'll give my money to the US government, and I need to find some cool utility app that I will probably use for a long time to buy. Any ideas?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 05:51 PM PST

Apparently my funds will get "escheated" if I don't buy something soon. This is a real email from google, no scam. I just need to buy anything from the play store.

For context I'm a CompSci major with an interest in /r/HomeLab and electricity. Any ideas as to what I should buy?

    Launcher with centered folders?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 12:06 PM PST

Im a bit tired of Nova and Id like to try new things. I really need centered folders cause I like to reach everything in my phone with 1 hand comfortably.

My setup is like this: https://i.imgur.com/pYbEWsa.jpg

Is there any good modern launcher that is actually good and support these or any kind of folder that is not floating at the top of the icon? I hate those kind folders

Id love to try Hyperion, Lawnchair... but I dont think any of those support it and this is a really must for me, I hate having folders at the very left or right of my phone

Study planner app that is free?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 11:38 AM PST

I mostly use a physical planner, but for my study this is the problem: I divide the number of pages by the number of days that remain before the exam, only there are some days when I do not complete the number of pages I was meant to do, which means that now all the following days I have to do a little bit more, which means erasing and correcting each day on my agenda. I would like an app that can do that for me, basically tell me how many pages I have left, how many I need to do each day, and that lets me log the amount of pages I study. I have found the Onemoreday app that does it quite well, but it's too expensive for the little that I need it for.

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 11:10 AM PST

Is it just me or has the Reddit app slowed down in it's response time considerably these past few days? I have cleared cache but it didn't help for long, if at all.

    PS: it's version 2020.45.0

Is there an app that allows me to run my personal delivery service?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 10:40 AM PST

I run errands by bike and This would be awesome!

Clients could see where I am and I could charge cheaper fees for them than a normal uber Eats , for example.

They could put money on it for me to go shopping for them.

I could talk with local groceries and restaurants to offer myself and some frineds as delivery personel.

[Request] I need a way to trigger play pause by long pressing the Power OR volume buttons

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 06:51 AM PST

I like to listen to stuff on my phone and would like to be able to play and pause by long pressing the Power button or if that doesn't work, the volume buttons. My phone has accessibility options where I can long press both volume buttons to turn accessibility features on and off. One of those is the option to enable and disable Tasker. Is there a way to do that?

Is there an app that just suggests interesting feature articles to read on the net?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 05:28 AM PST

Hello, I'm looking for an app that allows me to discover new interesting articles and long-form media, stuff I can read over breakfast. The ability to filter topics are good but not a priority - anything we'll written or interesting articles would be good.

I haven't really found a perfect app. Here's what I have so far, in rough order of acceptability.

    1. Pocket (discover feature) probably the closest to what I'm thinking of. However, it has a lot of weaknesses: the article discovery is a secondary feature to its main purpose of saving articles; can't refine topics; the "suggested people to follow" feature makes no sense, and it's coolest feature ("pocket hits", the most saved articles of the day, is NOT ACCESSIBLE FROM THE app, and is instead an email newsletter...?) https://getpocket.com/explore/pocket-hits

    2. Flipboard - curateable, and sorta what I want. Problem is there's a lot of news (which I'm less interested in than actual feature articles). I also find a lot of really shallow, clickbaity stuff, though I don't know if other people have the same experience. May just be because I haven't invested too much time customizing the filter.

    3. Google app main page - articles and news suggested are very personalized. Terribly aggressive with the personalization - accidentally click one KPOP article and your feed turns to kpopland for the next month until you keep manually shooting down the articles.

    4. Google /Microsoft news - not really interested in news articles.

    5. RSS aggregators (e.g. Feedly) - not what I'm looking for, as it requires you to know beforehand what websites you want to monitor.

Open to any other alternatives! :)
