[DEV] posidon launcher | A FOSS homescreen with an rss/atom feed Posted: 03 Sep 2020 04:16 AM PDT posidon launcher is a homescreen app with an rss feed and all the standard customizations. Plus, it has a few special features, like animated icon pack support and duckduckgo instant answers in search. The homescreen doesn't have pages, just a feed with news and notifications, so all the icons are placed in the dock. To access the launcher's settings or wallpaper gallery, do a pinch gesture or longpress on the cards The cons are that it's a bit buggy and there's still no pinned shortcut support Links: [link] [comments] |
App that lets you select a muscle and shows you a list of exercises for it Posted: 03 Sep 2020 12:17 PM PDT All I can find are apps that give you a home workout. I'm looking for exercises I can do at the gym by selecting a specific muscle [link] [comments] |
[DEV] My external memory with fast save + retrieval – ZenJournal: aka yet another journaling app Posted: 03 Sep 2020 12:04 PM PDT Hi! I launched the beta version of ZenJournal right here on r/androidapps for the first time in the world way back in 2018. It was well-received and I'm still grateful. I got sloppy and forgot to post again when it's released a month later. My bad! Since then, it has slowly grown and received many positive reviews from users from both android and ios land. It was even once featured on the Today page on App Store! The android version lagged behind for a while until about a month ago when I updated it to be in parity with the iOS version. Now with a unique "Discreet Mode" that you could double-tap to hide your timeline of logs. And of course the Touch/Face ID goodies that's lacking from the first version. Anyway, there are many journaling apps out there, you probably have seen them launching every week here. I made this app because I've tried them all but none of them fits my style of dumping text of thoughts into a stream that's easily taggable and quickly searchable. It has since became my external memory over the last couple of years. If this suits your style, give it a try and see if it helps you as well. It's completely free on android (with future plans for affordable subscriptions, some users even kindly offered to donate, but the best way to do that is to just leave a good review and tell your friends.🙏) The link to the landing page with features and a 30-second video: https://thezenjournal.com Direct link to Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.idealistspace.castle You may also find it in other android markets like Huawei App Gallery. AMA about the app and let me know how I can make it better. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Sep 2020 11:44 AM PDT I had Firefox, it was 700mb. Now i use bromite for almost a year and it's 100mb total. Why simple app like Office creates so much data? I have 32GB and these apps eat my storage. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Sep 2020 10:12 AM PDT Right...Where shall I start from?... Some days back, I posted 'Firefox vs Fennec' in this sub-reddit. It was about the ad-ons that were once available on firefox which is not now. Also suggested that Fennec has the old UI of firefox and all those ad-ons. I was told that fennec won't receive updates anymore, decided to uninstall fennec, today while randomly searching for new stuffs over F-Droid, I get to see THIS, and this as well, I mean the date below Guess, Its time to shift back to Fennec. Why do you need too many ad-ons when firefox has enough? => I know, I know firefox has the necessary ones, but some of the old users of firefox like me, are still addicted to the old UI and those ad-ons. Its okay for you to stick to the new firefox, but the user who loved the old UI and its many ad-ons also those url bar themes, try Fennec, it still gets updated. Posted: 03 Sep 2020 11:50 AM PDT I'm based in India where the app TikTok was banned recently. Post this Instagram launched the 'Reels' feature here which is basically just TikTok built in the IG app. Now I don't care for this shit. Its full of either cringe content or teenage girls acting rather sexual for their age. And it's right at the top, in the search tab. I'm looking to download an international version of the app or simply an older version of that isn't possible. How do I go about and can someone share the app version for me please? [link] [comments] |
Which is the best Windows + Android Browser combination? Posted: 03 Sep 2020 12:56 PM PDT Hey guys, I'm looking for the perfect combo of two browsers (one for Windows and one for Android). I decided that it should be the same on both operating systems because of the synchronization, the passwords and so on. You can choose from: A) Firefox for Windows + Firefox for Android Browser B) Microsoft Edge for Windows + Edge for Android Browser C) Opera for Windows + Opera for Android D) Vivaldi for Windows + Vivaldi Browser for Android Chrome isn't a option to the efficiency (Ram hog...) And I don't know other Browsers that are on both platforms ... Which combi would you pick? It should be resource-saving browsers (CPU and RAM gentle ...) - I posted it here because I don't know of any subreddit that deals with Windows apps ... Please explain the answers (why you had taken this combo etc.), thanks in advance ! [link] [comments] |
I created an app that lets friends exchange "I owe you" coupons with each other! Posted: 02 Sep 2020 05:49 PM PDT Hey all, Some time ago I wanted a way for my s/o and I to create coupons for each other without having to write up something on a note, or use some text message as proof for the coupon. Something that would say "I'll do the dishes for you because it was your birthday" and you would let them redeem it whenever they pleased. In comes my app, Coopons. It allows someone to create and send coupons to a friend by inputting their username. You can designate an expiration date for when the coupon would expire. Your friend can choose to accept it or decline it. When your friend accepts your coupon, they will be free to redeem it at anytime where you will be obligated to complete whatever task you had described in the coupon. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.aegeanapps.coopons&hl=en_US Please feel free to let know what you think. Any suggestions for improvement are welcome! [link] [comments] |
Looking for browser that has the ability to open pages in other apps Posted: 03 Sep 2020 12:06 PM PDT Been using Yandex browser and it has this option, but the constant reminder to update the app is a big turn off. Not really a deal breaker, but it's something I wouldn't mind having. [link] [comments] |

Looking for a replacement SMS app with a similar look Posted: 03 Sep 2020 07:27 AM PDT I currently use QKSMS and I absolutely love how it looks. It's the closest thing I've found to an app that looks lik the old style for Google messages. Unfortunately, it consistently fails to send text messages and I can't seem to figure out a way to fix it. There are quite a few "clone" apps (for all I know QKSMS is one of them) such as this, but it also fails to send messages. I've looked at some of the popular apps like Textra, but it doesn't seem to have profile avatars in conversations. Everything else seems to miss one thing or another and I've failed to find something that hits all the checkmarks. I like the minimalistic style, the rounded chat bubbles, white contact background, avatars next to chat bubbles, etc. Are there any functional apps that can look like QKSMS? [link] [comments] |

Alarm Clock App with "Turn All On/Off" Function? Posted: 03 Sep 2020 04:30 AM PDT I need to set 7 alarms per day, but would like the ability to turn all of them on or off with the push of one button, rather than turning all on/off individually. Anyone aware of an app that accomplishes this? [link] [comments] |
App store specifically for android tablets Posted: 03 Sep 2020 07:06 AM PDT His guys I somewhat recall that there being a play store (could be unofficial) dedicated for tablets only. All the apps in there were designed with tablets in mind. Can or does anyone recall this? Thanks In advance! ! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Sep 2020 05:09 AM PDT Does designing big application such as YouTube or Instagram, Reddit or any other social media giant use Domain Driven Design architecture in their mobile app development. For developing YouTube kind of app does it is good practice to follow Domain Driven Design(DDD). [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Sep 2020 12:35 PM PDT Specifically for location services. I vaguley remember using a couple apps back when Pokemon GO first came out; one was like what I described in the title, the other just gave a more accurate gps reading. Since changing phones, I've forgotten the apps names, and I can't find any similar apps in my Google Play store library. Any reccomendations? [link] [comments] |
[DEV] I made an app that searches many sites for motorcycles for sale. Would love some opinions. Posted: 03 Sep 2020 12:16 PM PDT Hello Everyone =] I created an app called MotoTree that basically searches multiple sites for motorcycles for sale in your area and shows them all in one place to help you find the exact bike you want. Like 3 months ago I was looking to buy a new motorcycle and came up with this idea and grinded it out. Pretty happy to finally release it in Beta. It's not perfect but its getting there. I know the UI needs some work as well, I am much better with development than I am coming up with UI lol. I would love to know what you guys think about it and if you have any suggestions =] I would also be happy to answer any questions about its development =] [link] [comments] |
Is there an app to pin other apps? So that you have to enter a pin to exit this app? Posted: 03 Sep 2020 11:53 AM PDT I know there is an option to do that on newer androids but I'm running 5.1.1 on my old tablet and wanted to pin and app. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Sep 2020 11:38 AM PDT Apple lifetime user here. I switched to the OnePlus 7t a few months ago and I love it. The one big feature that I'm missing (because I need to read so much for my masters) is the ability to have Siri read the iphone screen for you. Two fingers down and Siri knows to read only the book on the screen (from Kindle or any PDF reader/book reader). I've tried some accessibility features but I don't want my phone to think I'm blind and read everything. I just want to have my phone read the book/document for me in an effortless way. Can you do this on the OnePlus phone? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Sep 2020 02:42 AM PDT Hey, I'm trying to export the log of blokada in a CSV to analyse a bit what happens, but that feature doesn't seem to work. I have the setting set on "Log all requests" but i have an expiry csv of 20B in Download>blokada>requests.csv Yesterday it filled in 20 lines, while I have thousands of blocked. That setting isn't intuitive to me. Also what does "Log into internal storage only" means exactly? A button "export csv now" would be more practical imo. Anyone managed to export the data? Ps: I have latest fdroid version [link] [comments] |
AdClear made advertisements worse? Posted: 02 Sep 2020 11:21 PM PDT So I recently got a bit frustrated by the ever-increasing advertisements on YouTube. A quick Google search brought me to AdClear so I installed it... I got onto YouTube and it seemed like it got worse using AdClear. The normal skipable ads were basically just replaced by those long ass 15-Second advertisements. I opened up AdClear to check settings and it said, "In order to remove ALL advertisements" I had to download "Dubbel"(?) and that made no difference. Looking at the EULA on AdClear, I noticed that it basically said that they won't deliberately sell your information but they have no control of their 3rd Parties are located in places where those laws don't exist... that seemed sketchy as fuck. Has anyone else had the same experience with AdClear making things worse? [link] [comments] |
Please reccomend app with custom paper size for photo placement? Posted: 03 Sep 2020 04:54 AM PDT Most apps seem either editing images or collages 4x3. What I'm needing is an app where I can specify I want A3 size canvas (like in say Photoshop ) , and then put a photo into it, to be able to print it. Thank you in advance . [link] [comments] |
How do I use Reddit without account Posted: 03 Sep 2020 10:05 AM PDT I tried to find Reddit rss client - without any success. I could use just a usual rss app, but in this case I won't see the answers under the post. Now I'm looking for an app which allows me to browse subreddits, subscribe them. Without log in.
