Whenever I try to draw and keep my pen hold down or move it only slowly on the same position in Samsung Notes, a small black window pops up that shows "insert text here | copy" etc and it annoys me a lot, especially when I am detail drawing. Posted: 29 Sep 2020 04:55 PM PDT So I use PiHole and noticed recently I was getting ads even though my PiHole works on everything else until eventually I saw there's a DNS I didn't add in my WiFi settings. Even if I add 0.0.0.0 as a second one it'll still appear. I'll unlock my phone and there will be a red dot where notifications are, a moment after unlocking it vanishes. Have got Avast on my phone and it's not found anything suspicious, I've gone through my list of apps and can't see anything weird. | Unlock an old Motorola phone? Forgot password and lock screen. Posted: 29 Sep 2020 06:38 PM PDT Is it at all possible to somehow unlock a phone I forgot the password and lock screen for? It won't let me even try the lock screen anymore. I can only put in my email and password. No matter what combination I put it says its wrong.. Absolutely nothing is working. I've called everywhere. Searched everywhere. Im trying to open it without doing a hard reset. Im trying to save whatever photos and videos I have on it. This was pre photo back up time for me so they aren't on Google photos or shutterfly or any other back up app. Theres no sim card or SD card either. Its a Motorola Defy. I used it from 2010(ish) to 2014. That's as descriptive as I can think to be. If I think of more details, I will add later. Thank you for any help! [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 29 Sep 2020 10:19 PM PDT I've decided I'm going to pull the trigger on buying an FE. I'm just undecided on how to do it. Either Amazon or Best Buy are offering it for 599. Samsung is offering the phone for 699 which is 100 more expensive. On the surface it's clear cut which I should go with but it's a little more complicated than that. Samsung also offers a 70 dollar accessory credit and a 50 percent buy back guarantee. So if I get rid of the phone within 20 months the price drops to 350 and I still get that 70 dollar credit which I would use to buy Samsung wireless charger for is $59. I likely will upgrade the phone after 12 months or when the next FE comes out. On top of that Samsung financing options are a lot more robust. The 50 percent buy back guarantee offer gives me a 20 dollar a month payment. Where as using best buys financing I would be at something like 40 dollars a month over 18 months. Im undecided because I wonder if the value of the phone after 12 months would be worth more than the 50 percent buy back or at least 250 which would be 50 percent of the best buy deal. | Display over other apps notification turns back on after disabling Posted: 29 Sep 2020 09:35 PM PDT OS and whatever: redmi phone running Android 10 and their garbo software they force onto their phones problem: I have an app I want running over top of everything else and it's working fine but there's a permanent notification about it. gubbs I've done: I've long pressed the notification and both set it to low importance and trivial importance as well as disabling notifications for the app completely but as soon as I exit out of the settings thing it reverts back. wat do? edit: moar gubs I've done: I've gone into the app settings for this app and unchecked permanent notification but it's still there [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 29 Sep 2020 09:18 PM PDT since yesterday my phone is misbehaving.it has been lagging alot which normally does not happen. recent apps button have delayed response. Clean master kept crashing.messenger keeps crashing and eventually insta started to crash. notifications are appearing but everytime i open it they display "unfortunately (app) has stopped working". i deleted clean master and installed 360 cleaner but that too started to crash. i tried using smart manager to clean out the ram and deleted unnecessary data and ran a security check but no threats were detected and the issue continued. can anyone please help ? I have a OnePlus 7T if that matters.. I'm rooted and have Magisk and also have tasker if it can be done with that but I'm assuming it's a simple file replace maybe? | Posted: 29 Sep 2020 04:37 PM PDT So, I'm using a Galaxy S9+ (One UI 2.1, Android 10), and I really love how the Samsung Internet Broswer is much more efficient and ad-block friendly, as compared to Google Chrome. However, I seem to only be able to cast videos to my TV (Vizio, Chromecast built-in) through the Chrome browser. Lately, Chrome hasn't been working very well against ads or pop ups, and can get quite annoying, if not frustrating, when trying to cast, which is why I prefer the Samsung Internet Browser. Would anyone have a solution to this issue, outside of the SmartView/Screen Mirroring option? [link] [comments]  |

| I cannot delete text threads in Textra Posted: 29 Sep 2020 08:12 PM PDT As the title says, text threads cannot be deleted. They disappear for a few moments and then return. It seems the ones that return are random, but consistent in how they come back. What should I do? I want to delete all my threads and start fresh. No possibility of recovery, clean slate. I have tried deleting them, resyncing in textea settings, and deleting all threads in Android messages. Nothing. They keep coming back from the grave. Any ideas? [link] [comments]  |
| Phone with broken screen, retrieving pictures Posted: 29 Sep 2020 01:53 PM PDT I have an old LG Optimus L90 that I used 5-6 years ago. The screen cracked and the touch screen stopped working. I want to recover pictures that are on it. I plugged it into my PC but the setting on the phone is set to Charge Only. I can't change it to file transfer because of the broken screen. I tried using a micro usb to usb female OTG adapter and plug in a mouse, but it doesn't work on this older phone. Any ideas? [link] [comments]  |
