Please Help - stripped screw with head removed stuck in laptop Posted: 29 Aug 2020 07:34 PM PDT I've spent a lot of time trying to figure this out and in some serious need of help. I was trying to add a second NVMe SSD to my laptop but the screw holding one of the slots down was so stripped that I couldn't remove it. I tried using a rubber band, using larger and different screw bits, and using pliers. I then tried to use a drill and drill out the screw using the smallest drill bit, but that still didn't work and if anything made the screw even more stripped. After exhausting all those options, I went to a local laptop repair shop where the guy removed the head of the screw but the rest of it was still stuck in the hole. I've attached a picture to this post to show what it now looks like. I am now desperate for any possible way to remove the rest of the screw from the hole if at all possible. I could add the additional SSD and figure out some way to keep it in place (maybe thermal tape?) but ideally would like to get rid of the existing leftovers. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
