| Random Folders with random numbers appearing in my hard disk drive. Posted: 30 Jul 2020 07:35 AM PDT Since last week, random EMPTY folders with 2-digit numbers are being created in my HDD drive. I permanently deleted a number of them last week, but today I saw 2 folders again (numbered 48 & 83).Can anyone suggest what's the problem and the fix? Running Windows version 1909. Update: Today also some more folders have appeared, named 3d, 7a, 8e, af, 7c, 89, 99, bc, c6. Update 2: Cause found. It was happening due to Spotify app. Will update with the fix if I find one. | Posted: 30 Jul 2020 11:46 AM PDT Hello everyone, I am having a little bit of trouble and hoping you guys can help me out. I want to set up a dual boot with two different versions of Windows 10. The first (and primary) would be the 2004 update with my primary C drive, the second would be a flash drive (usb 3.0) with Windows 1803 installed on it. However, I would still like to access files all from my Windows 2004 from my Windows 1803 (especially drivers, programs, games, and such). Also, I was hoping I could boot off of the flash drive and use programs and installations on the main C drive instead of reinstalling everything. I have used Rufus to create a Windows to Go version of my Windows 1803 iso, but I am unable to access any of my files rendering it useless. The Windows to Go also did not recognize my drivers or GPU. | Posted: 30 Jul 2020 02:20 PM PDT I want to backup my windows 10 PC. I have a flash drive and I read that connecting an external drive , file history will back up to it automatically. However, I see that file history is turned on and it saves to D drive. So do I actually need to save it to an external drive ? I currently do not have anything connected to my PC but file history is turned on. So does that mean that my data is backed up and am able to recover it if something goes wrong? My windows.old folder exists with all the old folders from my past user, but they're all empty. Where did these files go? If they're deleted that's horrible because they're family pictures. | Search Bar not working in New Edge. Posted: 30 Jul 2020 04:16 PM PDT For some reason, I can't type anything into the address bar on New Edge. It just crashes as soon as I type anything into it. I have Google in my bookmarks, so I can use that, but sometimes I need to use the address bar, so this is a major issue, and I don't have any other browsers (but I do have another PC and a USB drive, so I can transfer another browser, but Edge is my favorite.) Is my only option to reinstall Windows? Is there any troubleshooting steps? Thanks! I can hear audio through the headset, but my laptop will only use the computer mic. I have looked into the advanced settings and it only gives me the options for my pc microphone. Posted: 30 Jul 2020 05:12 AM PDT Back in 2003, when I was a 5yo kid I used to stay at the shop that my mom worked on, while she was working I was able to play the preinstalled windows xp games like the pinball one, solitaire, etc. And I remember there was some sort of super hardcore and retro platformer that controlled like shit but I enjoyed it because it was hard as fuck and it was like a challenge, maybe it was not even that hard but idk, I was 5. Suddenly every file on his PC has Mozilla as default application (even Calculator in Start menu etc.) - every icon is a mozilla type icon. None of us know, how this happened. I tried googling it, but I found nothing. Can you please help? I currently have a dataset that I refer to regularly, it's 4 tables of data on 4 HTML pages saved locally. I've got a basic menu across the top of the page to switch to each. When I need the data right now I open the index HTML and have it in a browser tab. Ideally I'd like to have them in a win32 app or similar that contains all data/files etc in the single application, that way I can run it on any machine without requiring install. Do any of you have any suggestions? I only know HTML and CSS, so it will either need to be able to have that as the data in the background, have a Web view to HTML files within the executable or be code less development. And when next week comes, i would download that movie again ( a different reso sometimes from a different source) forgetting the previous copy I already have. This happens most of the time, until it ate most of my storage. Im just wondering if you could recommend a software that searches for duplicates based on the file name?
