Why are the laptops with AMD processors so fucking terrible? Where do I look? Posted: 29 Jun 2020 07:41 PM PDT I can't find many or any at all with a 2060gtx, a decent screen, and 16gig ram. The screen and overall build quality are either horrible or the graphics card is 1660ti at most. Am I missing something or can someone point me in the right direction? EDIT: Sorry for the curse word and thanks for the suggestions and tips. [link] [comments] |
Looking for Gaming Laptop - in need of suggestions Posted: 30 Jun 2020 02:46 AM PDT I don't know a lot about gaming laptops so I was looking for advice. I want a laptop with pretty much no faults. Good graphics, no glitches, lots of storage and able to run multiple softwares/games with mods etc. My friend suggested Alienware but I'm looking for other suggestions too or a specific Alienware computer which will be the best. I haven't got a budget so don't worry about pricing. If you have any suggestions then let me know! : -) [link] [comments] |
Suggest me the better laptop for Gaming Posted: 30 Jun 2020 01:04 AM PDT Asus Tuf gaming fx505DT (ryzen 5 GTX 1650) vs Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54 (Intel i5-9th gen GTX 1650) Prices of both are almost the same. Architecture student looking for gaming laptop for school works like CAD and 3D softwares Posted: 29 Jun 2020 07:14 PM PDT LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE
I want to get into digital art. Photoshop, lightroom, Illustrator If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? Not really into gaming but would like to play games with friends from time to time.
Color accurate screen Webcam due to online classes. Avoiding the "gamer aesthetic", but could go for it as last resort. Looking for a gaming laptop because those have the specs i need. The seniors in my campus usually suggest this to freshmen or sophomores.
Well, im open to other suggestions thats why i wrote the form. Well currently im looking into Lenovo Legion y540 and Lenovo Legion 5i. The y540 has a nose cam and im not sure if thats could be a bit of a nuisance to tilt the screen so your face will be in a better angle The legion 5 is not yet available in my country and has higher specs but the only iteration they are selling for preorder is the one with the 120Hz 250 nits screen which isnt really color accurate. I dont know if i should wait. I kinda can, i dont need to use softwares yet. But i kinda need it since i might have to share with my sisters on our desktop at home with online classes. Budget, Basic but not Borderline unusable Posted: 30 Jun 2020 01:38 AM PDT Hi all, been looking for a laptop for the other half (UK) but we don't have a massive budget. Was looking at the Acer Aspire 3 with an i3 due to decent keyboard etc even though the screen gets bad reviews but reading some user reviews a lot of people say it's slow and hangs. Is any laptop under £700 going to be a slog? Any suggestions welcome for sub £400 thanks! Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US:
<£400

Help me decide between these 15 inch US Laptops (Budget $1200-1800) Posted: 29 Jun 2020 07:04 PM PDT Total budget Up to $1800. Ideally less than $1500 USD. Are you open to refurbs/used? If you all feel that a refurb will not hurt me long term, I'm open to it! How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life? Performance (for me this includes the laptop not being loud frequently), battery life, form factor, build quality. I just want something that can reliably run Premiere Pro while also lasting at least 8 hours (Not at the same time. I want to be able to work from a coffee shop but then plugin and be able to render a video). How important is weight and thinness to you? Decently important. I'm coming from an X1 Yoga but I don't need it to be that thin or light. Quite frankly I'd rather it not be because I don't want a computer that is very loud or hot (when not editing video or similar strenuous tasks). Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 15 at least Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. Right now I run Illustrator but plan on running Premiere Pro very soon. Honestly, my chrome usage is what slows most things down right now. Don't plan on gaming. Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Ideally metal and a glass trackpad. The way the carbon fiber and trackpad of the Dell picked up oil was gross (understanding that I'm gross for being that oily lol) Also very ideally want to have ports (mainly HDMI and at least 1 USB-A) without having to get a dongle. Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. Okay so I already bought and returned the: XPS 7590 (https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/cty/pdp/spd/xps-15-7590-laptop) and I wasn't a big fan of Dell's keyboard and hated how dirty the inside surfaces got even after a few days. It was also stuttered a few times in performance but that could've been because I didn't update everything. I'm open to the 9500 (https://www.dell.com/en-us/member/shop/laptops/new-15/spd/xps-15-9500-laptop) but still don't see myself enjoying the typing experience and how dirty it will get. The HP Spectre runs super hot and the fans are really loud for no reason. Plus I haven't been impressed with the battery life at all. I've considered the Razer Blade 15 but 4 hours of battery is just not going to cut it. Also interested in the X1 Extreme. Feel like the 9500 or the X1 Extreme second gen are my top options right now. It's unfortunate that neither of those have a number pad. I know I've been naming the flagships for each of these companies but I'm open to other options. I don't need the thinnest solution or the best name brand. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 29 Jun 2020 11:54 PM PDT My old man needs a light-weight laptop in the $600-$700 range. He's not exactly in the US so prices are gonna vary so a recommendation on the lower end of that range is preferred. His workflow is just emails, word docs, and a ton of excel (pretty big files, and macros). He's currently looking at the Surface Go 2 with the core m3 configuration. I honestly can't recommend him doing that, but at the same time I can't provide him with alternatives since I don't know much about laptops. Any help is much appreciated.
