Dude developers, let people use your app for a bit before you start brow beating them for a review! Posted: 27 Jun 2020 08:20 AM PDT The chances of me leaving a negative review go up 370% if you bug me during the first session of me using your app. How the hell is anyone supposed to even know if they like your app if you don't even give them 2 minutes to try it? A little patience goes a long way. [link] [comments] |
[DEV] Phone dialer for seniors Posted: 27 Jun 2020 01:39 AM PDT I created this widget to make it easier for older people to make phone calls and read SMS. There are various applications like this, but none were as simple and essential as I needed it, so I decided to create one. I share it in case it's useful to others. Unlike other solutions this is a widget and not a launcher. The widget shows a dialer panel and has a couple of icons to display the phone contacts and the latest SMS.You can configure some aspects of the widget from the application. It is recommended to use a launcher that allows you to remove any other item from the home page and that allows you to lock the home page so as to prevent the person using the phone from removing the widget. It needs Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) or newer. Uses the following permissions: - android.permission.CALL_PHONE: to initiate a phone call. - android.permission.READ_CONTACTS: to read the contacts to be displayed. - android.permission.READ_SMS: to read the SMS to be displayed. - android.permission.RECEIVE_SMS: to update the list of SMS when a new one arrives. [DEV] Notably - Simple, Minimalistic Notepad! Posted: 27 Jun 2020 07:07 AM PDT Hey, recently I have developed Notably - a simple & minimalistic Notepad. While it's basic functionality is pretty simple I've decided to add Rich Text Editing support. This means you can use the following in your notes: * Undo & Redo It doesn't require any permissions because why would it? This application's single purpose is to allow you to create notes! You can get it from Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.notepad.notably Currently the application runs without ads. Checkout it out and let me know your thoughts! I'm looking for constructive feedback, UX-related suggestions would be most welcome! [link] [comments] |

How to assign sounds for individual app notifications? Posted: 27 Jun 2020 10:08 AM PDT So I just got my wife a OnePlus 8 5G UW. She previously had a Samsung Galaxy S5, IIRC. After futzing around with it she realized that it doesn't seem to allow her to customize the notification sounds for individual apps. Like, she likes to use the "coin box" sound effect from Mario as her text notification, but other sounds for games and such. Is there a way to do this on the OnePlus 8? If not, can we get an app that allows this? Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Request :File explorer or video player app for android TV that stream from Gdrive Posted: 27 Jun 2020 10:58 AM PDT Hi guys, I have a teamdrive available in my Gdrive with most of movies and TV shows in it. Any good apps that are either file explorers or cloud drive apps with which I can navigate the files and stream to my android TV? Either of like raidrive for windows or any other solutions. Thank u for your help. Please delete if it's not suited for this subreddit. [link] [comments] |
Island removed from Play Store? Posted: 27 Jun 2020 07:48 AM PDT I'm not able find Island by oasisfeng (Greenify Dev) in Play Store, direct URL also showing "Item not available" message. [link] [comments] |
Something like Audacity for Android? Posted: 27 Jun 2020 08:56 AM PDT What's an app for Android like Audacity? I am monitoring my sleep and Audacity is nice because I can review the waveform and only play the parts that stand out. [link] [comments] |
Move photo album from iOS to Android while maintaining order Posted: 27 Jun 2020 11:38 AM PDT Every single method I've tried for moving my iOS photo album over to Android (Mega, Dropbox, Google Drive, Google Photos, Windows File Explorer) either saves them completely out of order, only lets you save one by one or doesn't let you save at all. I can't find any information online on how to maintain the same date order. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 27 Jun 2020 10:28 AM PDT So, my problem is I want to check my email from my work on my phone. I tried logging in with Gmail and bunch of other third-party apps. All of them, redirected me to add the email account at 'device-level' (excuse my ignorance for more technical term). Since my work account is on G suite, every time I try to log in, the apps redirect me to system-wide login, and eventually asks me to implement device monitoring policy of my institution. I just want to check my email, like I do on my PC browser, without affecting other things. I can access the mail through browser on my phone, but that's inconvenient and affects other web-services I log in with google. Is there any app, that JUST log me in with my work account, and show me my mail, without going all over my device data? Please suggest me. Or if there is any solution to this, I shall appreciate the help. [link] [comments] |
Strictest app block for Android? Need help Posted: 26 Jun 2020 09:51 PM PDT I'm basically addicted to Reddit and wanna quit cold turkey on my phone. Don't have much self control so I need an app. :( What's the Strictest app blocker for Android. No uninstalling, block apps forever, no backing out. Anything really. I want off the Reddit ride haha. Lots of apps I've tried can be uninstalled if you reboot your phone quickly enough for example. If you have a method besides an app even I'm open to it. Thank you for taking the time and reading. Posted: 27 Jun 2020 06:45 AM PDT I was rather aghast with Kinemaster, Filmora Go, and Cyberlink's video editing app in Google Play. Though i don't mind paying for apps, I'd rather have it a one-time payment only. The subscriptions and in-app prices are ridiculous. The ability to stitch and overlay multiple clips, audio, and text is all i need really. Thanks so much. [link] [comments] |
How can I use my Android device as both mic as speaker for windows? [USB] Posted: 27 Jun 2020 08:15 AM PDT WO Mic works with USB Soundwire works USB Can I use both at the same time? Edit: No, I'm not using both directly from speaker and mic, otherwise there would be a lot of interference. I'm using a headphone. [link] [comments] |

Android 10 constant refresh on app switch (using Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite) Posted: 27 Jun 2020 07:01 AM PDT Hello, I recently upgraded to Android 10 in my Xiaomi MI A2 Lite and started noticing that everytime I switch from an app to another the screen does a refresh which causes apps to fully reload. This is particularly annoying in browsers where the page reloads again and even causing some browsers not to behave as they should (not being able to reload the page or even loosing the browser history if the browser has an option to clear tabs on exit). Is anyone experiencing the same? Is there any solution? Thanks [link] [comments] |
Best email client which takes least amount of battery Posted: 27 Jun 2020 02:48 AM PDT Notifications aren't important, I want something that will refresh only when I open the app and doesn't do background refresh. Suggestions? [link] [comments] |
EASY COPY + replacement (specifically the after copy popup) Posted: 27 Jun 2020 05:54 AM PDT Hi! I've relied on easy copy+ and universal copy working together for quite some time but sadly easy copy randomly stopped working for me a few weeks ago. I've tried all the basics to fix it, permissions, uninstall/reinstall... Nothing works. So I'm looking for a replacent app. The part I need is the actions that pop up after you copy anything - send by text, email, call, share, directions, translate, search on Chrome etc.. would appreciate any suggestions! Looking for an app that automatically kills another specified app immediately when opened. Posted: 27 Jun 2020 09:39 AM PDT Essentially the issue here is that my one year old steals my phone and opens Dimly, a screen dimmer app, and dims it to zero. Only way to turn it off is to either see the button on the screen, which I can't, or restart the phone entirely. I have set up a routine through Alexa, IFTTT, and AutomateIt to automatically turn my brightness up when I tell it, but I need it to also kill dimly. Automate it will start apps, but not kill them. If I can get an app to immediately kill dimly upon starting, I can start it remotely and get my screen back. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Google calendar app drag and drop not working Posted: 27 Jun 2020 01:43 AM PDT Hi all, I have a galaxy s20 5g and I can't get the drag and drop feature to work on Google calendar. It worked perfectly on my s8+. Can anyone help me? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Jun 2020 09:01 AM PDT If you like trivia and jigsaw puzzles, give my new app Trivia Troll a try. It's not a 3D game with sophisticated graphics and animation (it was created with Flutter), rather the emphasis is on smooth game play, substantive trivia questions, and puzzle solving.
