    Hey! First time posting here. So i'm a vfx designer and I want something "budget friendly" (doesnt mean necessarily cheap but not looking for the best either) but with a minimum of 16gb ram and a good processor, something "cost effective". Any recommendations?

    Hey i have a acer travelmate b117 and for a while now ive had some problems where my laptop just freezes and the only thing i can do is restart with the on button, and somtimes it freezes and starts beeping. ive tried everything that i know of so i put it here if anyone that has better knowledge about I.T please help me

    Why is there a noticeable difference in RAM price between companies?

    I am looking to upgrade my RAM and I noticed that Samsung's RAM is $36 while Corsair's RAM is $44 (both are 8GB DDR4 2666Mhz). Is there a difference in performance between them or is it just the company charging more for no reason?

    HELP ME CHOOSE A LAPTOP

    Edit: Surface is only $1000.

    I'm trying to decide which laptop to get for law school. My main concerns are budget and speed, but having a touch screen to use if I want to is also important to me (which is why I would get an AirBar with the Mac). Thanks to A LOT of help from this thread I've narrowed down the options that I like best.

    These are the requirements by my school. Let me know if you think any of my options don't meet these stips.

    I already repasted 3 times but still getting the issue that Core 2 and 4 are at ~92°C and Core 1 & 3 are at ~80°C under stress.

    Idel temp is 45°C on all cores.

    So I pulled off all of my stickers. Obviously there’s residue that I will clean later, but wtf is this? It’s like the sticker bleached my laptop. Has anyone experienced this/how can I fix this?

    Realtek Audio HD Manager Headset Issue

    I just got the Steelseries Arctis 3 today, which is an analog gaming headset as opposed to USB. it comes with a splitter which I need as my Eluktronics P650HP6 has separate audio and mic ports.

    Unfortunately, my Realtek HD Audio Manager does not want to let the headset and the headset's microphone to be recognized at the same time, it will only do one or the other. Plugging in the headphones works, but then plugging in the mic disables the headphones while enabling the mic, and vice versa.

    After tons and tons of googling I think I've managed to parse out that the advanced settings for the Realtek Manager will allow me to fix this, but my Audio Manager does not have the advanced settings button in the top right where its supposed to be.

    Is there anything I can do about this? I've tried installing every driver I can find both from Eluktronics and Realtek direct, and tons of other people seem to have this same issue, but I can't find a straight answer on how to fix it.

    Any help is very much appreciated!!!

    What is a good gaming/work laptop?

    So I need a laptop for school mostly because of online school now. And I've always been needing one and now more than ever and I also love gaming. So I'm looking for a good laptop I can run games at a decent quality with a lot of storage and all that stuff. I don't know what to look for in a good laptop so I came here. Any help would be very much appreciated.

    my speakers seemed to be working fine last night, but this morning as I played some music my right speaker sounds really fuzzy (I'm not sure how to describe it but it's basically not clear), but the left one seems fine.

    Budget Student Laptops?

    Hey everyone,

    I'm looking for a laptop for school that won't break the bank, but is decent enough to last a while. I'm trying to find something with a somewhat recent i3, 4 gbs of ram, and a small ssd. My budget is $350, but is somewhat flexible because august is a while away and I have time to save more money/wait for a sale. Are my expectations too high for that price point?

    I'm not sure who to ask for laptop buying advice but maybe someone somewhere could help me find something.
