MIUI Always-On-Display finally shows all notification icons Posted: 31 Mar 2020 11:56 PM PDT Xiaomi finally fixed it! I installed last night the latest AOD APK from APKMirror - https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/xiaomi-inc/always-on-mode/always-on-mode-alpha-1-13-306-03191308-release/miui-always-on-display-alpha-1-13-306-03191308-android-apk-download/download/ - and finally, the notification icons from all my apps (or at least the business ones like Teams, Outlook, Slack etc. and Reddit) are now showing up on the AOD. I'm using a Mi9 EEA, so I can only attest to this device. If any of you wanna try it as well, post your experience and findings in the comments :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Mar 2020 05:41 PM PDT https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/16/xiaomi-discontinues-mi-mix-3-no-longer-on-sale/ Also according to the article, the Mix 3 5G wasn't even released to the Chinese Market so expect no MIUI 11 or 12 sooner or later which is a bummer since the 5G phone has flagship-level specs :/ [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Mar 2020 11:16 PM PDT Does anyone know any compatible gcam ports for the mi 9 lite? I tried the one from here https://www.cyanogenmods.org/mi-cc9-mi-9-lite-google-camera/ but the camera either just saves blank pics(black background) or the colors are extremely off any help is appreciated and links would be helpful. thank you! HUGE ISSUE! Custom ROM’s spoiling the display panel of many Xiaomi devices! + Solution Posted: 31 Mar 2020 01:34 AM PDT Okay, now that I got your attention, this is a SERIOUS issue. You may not even realise it, but if you're not using MIUI, you pretty much have a Screen Burn In / Image Retention problem on your Xiaomi's display. It's temporary though, and goes away after a while. Turns out that the Tianma LCD display panel found in most Xiaomi devices have to have a specific colour calibration on custom ROM's! These are the devices I've seen people complaining about while digging online: RN 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, Mi 5, A2... Literally any LCD Xiaomi could be affected. Another thing to note is that even if you have an LCD device, not all devices may have the Tianma panel. For example, even though my RN 8 is facing it, yours may not. The only way to find out for sure is to, you guessed it, find out for yourself :P Instructions below! The issue: I'm personally using a Redmi Note 8. This never happened over the 5 months I've used MIUI. It's been a month since I flashed Pixel Experience Q, and I've noticed when opening Reddit, in its dark grey splash screen, I could see my notification bar and some app's hamburger menu, albeit faintly. It started bothering me, and I started researching. How can I get burn in on a new device!? And heck, it's an LCD. Turns out I'm not the only one. A quick Google search on "Redmi Note 8 Screen Burn In" gives you tons on people complaining, not only about the RN 8, but many other devices too! Many people thought it's a hardware issue, and replaced their display and still faced it lol! Find out if you're affected yourself: If you're using a custom ROM on your Xiaomi LCD device, and want to see if you're affected, open this dark grey picture linked below in full screen in your gallery (it's actually the Reddit app's splash background zoomed haha). You may notice the notification bar burnt in. For a better example, exit your gallery with that picture open, set brightness to 100% and screen timeout to 2 mins, light mode, and just open settings and leave it alone. After almost 2 mins, quickly go back to your gallery with the picture open. You'll see settings lightly imprinted into your screen! Leave your device alone for a while, and it'll disappear. Here's the dark grey picture: https://imgur.com/cpDyDdS Here's how the image retention looks (sorry for the crappy quality!): https://imgur.com/v2U8kKu Solution: You need to set the Red, Green & Blue values to 90% in your ROM's colour calibration. Take a look at these: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-4/how-to/fix-display-burn-issue-redmi-note-4-t3703996 Here's how colour calibration should look, I stole this image from somewhere :P https://imgur.com/pgTExqo MIUI already has the right calibration by default, and so it's safe. Now here comes a problem for some of us - if you're using some ROM's like Pixel Experience, you may not have this option. Try using apps Franko Kernel Manager or any kernel auditor app and change the display RGB values there. You might need a custom kernel for this. Try using this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smartpack.colorcontrol And ROM dev's, please set this as the default colour calibration value if you detect a Tianma display! I hope this helped, I put hours of my quarantine into this :P On that note, I hope y'all are staying safe from this pandemic! :) Edit- Looks like some people are having this very issue after updating to MIUI 11! Here's how to fix it in MIUI without rooting: Go to Settings > Display > Colors. Set it to "Cool" & "Automatic Contrast". This is according to the 3rd XDA thread I linked above, so see if it helps you! [link] [comments] |

My Redmi Note 7 has been on loop for a while now Posted: 01 Apr 2020 12:22 AM PDT Earlier in the day, I updated the software to MIUI 11.something.something. It is just a minor update, and I barely noticed any differences. I was just surfing the net, cus I got nothing better to do this quarantine period, and my phone suddenly turned off and has been on a reboot loop for around 30 minutes now. IDK what to do ppl. help. My phone is not rooted or anything cus I am too dumb to do that but yeah it hasn't even been a year since I bought it. [link] [comments] |
Softbrick on Redmi Note 7, really need helppp! Posted: 01 Apr 2020 02:35 AM PDT Hi. So, I was having a ported ROM, everything was normal, until the phone starts to reboot itself, endlessly. I got into Recovery Mode(OrangeFox) but then it reboots. At this point, I wanted to use MiFlashTool to change back to the OG ROM, but MiFlashTool logged "Flash system error". Is there anyway I can work this around, what should I do? I can use fastboot. [link] [comments] |
A question about navigation buttons Posted: 01 Apr 2020 02:28 AM PDT Hey guys. I just bought a redmi note 8 a month ago and i have a customization question. It is very simple but driving me crazy. How do i change the places of menu and home buttons. (the squire and circle ones, i am not sure about their names.) I mean, there is a mirror buttons options but it only switches the places of back and menu buttons. I only want to switch first 2 and keep the back button at it's place. Thank you very much. Here is what i am talking about for clarification. [link] [comments] |
Note 8 pro using 3gb ram just idling Posted: 01 Apr 2020 02:28 AM PDT So ive noticed my note 8 pro become a little slow in the last weeks, it sits at 2.3GB out of 6gb ram available when nothing is running. Any tips/help for this problem? [link] [comments] |
Issue with Mi 9t Pro (and other multiple camera models) Posted: 01 Apr 2020 01:57 AM PDT When using some social media do record a video or take photos (i.e Instagram, Messenger, Snapchat, etc...) My phone uses the 2x Optical Zoom sensor instead of the main one. Is there a way to fix this? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Apr 2020 01:53 AM PDT Hi. Redmi Note 7 with Stock things was quite boring for me. I decided to root my phone with custom recovery. Then I realized that I am more powerful with custom recovery than I expected. Process of customization started: Trying different Roms, different custom recoveries, flashing zips and etc. Only thing I did not customized was kernel. I tried searching for kernels but evry kernel For my phone was on Android Pie. Problem is that I flashed Pixel Experience ROM with Android 10. Question is if I can flash kernels for Android Pie? And if not can you tell me which kernel can I safely flash and some tips for good kernels? Thank you [link] [comments] |

Weird camera sound on Messenger and Instagram Posted: 01 Apr 2020 12:58 AM PDT Ever since I updated my phone to android 10, I noticed this loud and weird shutter sound on camera app in Messenger. It even works in silent mode and when I disable Messenger's in-app sounds. There's nothing like that with camera app. Am I the only one experiencing this? https://voca.ro/6u3O6xTQ62U [link] [comments] |

Help with a (small) reward! Issues with my Xiaomi Mija Youth Projector Posted: 31 Mar 2020 04:29 PM PDT Hey Guys, I finally got my hands on the Xiaomi Mija Youth Projector (Xiaomi Mijia mjjgtyds02fm, International Version) and was excited to dive into the home quarantine but after the set-up and watching 5 min of Youtube my projector crashed. After the crash, however, my projector stuck at the boot animation and after the first animation, it crashes (I posted a shitty video so please don't judge me). I don't know what to do ... So mighty Redditors! Please help me, the first one who fixes my problem gonna get a free meal (max.15€). Whatsoever thx! [link] [comments] |

Can't update apps and install new from Play Store Posted: 31 Mar 2020 01:07 PM PDT Recently I've discovered that I'm unable to update any apps (system ones or from Play store) because there is, in fact, 'download pending' but when it comes to installing, it just never ends. Sometimes after a few tries I get a notification that system apps can't be installed for some reason. This is getting really frustrating since there are a few apps that can't work properly because they require updates. I'll be really grateful for any kind of help! [link] [comments] |
Can anyone name some remote access app for mobile please help.please help.my device k20 pro Posted: 31 Mar 2020 08:39 PM PDT Scenario 1.over internet access:- reason sometimes my parents go for some weeks-month at my grandparents house and if they have some issue on their device(k20) it take way to much to explain them on phone to sort out things sometimes things gets solved sometimes they don't hence the remaining time of vacation they have that issue unsolved.my grandparents have WiFi and somebody suggested that there is app for pc called team viewer which can remotely access other pc if the pc is on and connected to internet. So is there a app for Android platform where I can access device remotely from my pc/android device if it connected to internet and it's on(money isn't a issue if the app is paid). literally this was an issue when I was sharing some video to my parents video of nephew birthday on mega(as I use mega a lot to upload my family video stuff)and they were unable to view because they never use mega.they were unable to view it almost 7-8 days. 2.over same WiFi network:- I'm a pc guy so I mostly waste my time on pc reading comic/manga or watch movie.i live in double decker house kinda thing.so normally i keep my mobile in upper room as I don't like carrying mobile that much.because of that I mostly miss call, message,in-game notification and other thing.so is there a way I can keep a small window open on any side of pc to look at what going on my phone like getting call, some sort of notifications or other thing so I can go attend those thing. People on youtube said sidesync which is for exclusively for samsung.and there was a time(maybe 2015-2016) when my friend(colleague) tried an app call mobizen it work for him so I remember and try to do it for myself for 2nd reason but it isn't working for me.it only work like mirroring screen rather than giving me remote access to my mobile by my computer. and friend isn't in a close one& I haven't talk in for like years so it's awkward to call him just for an app. [link] [comments] |

Xiaomi M365 PRO scooter - cannot connect to Xiaomi Home app (Bluetooth) Posted: 31 Mar 2020 03:26 PM PDT Hi, I purchased a Xiaomi M365 pro scooter two weeks ago and connected it to the app out of the box. I updated the firmware and didnt really use the app since. Today I looked at the app and it wouldn't connect to the scooter. I removed the device from the app and tried to repair but I just get a bluetooth error code (-6). I've tried changing my region to china, holding break + power, break and throttle + power but the issue remains. Is this a firmware problem or is there a known fix? Thankyou. [link] [comments] |
