| Any app that uses a map crashes - except Google Maps Posted: 23 Apr 2020 03:08 PM PDT This started today - any app that has a map will crash when I run it. Uber, Running trackers, Trails, doesn't matter. If it shows a map it will crash on start. The only app that works is Google Maps. If I revert Google Maps to stock version - it also crashes. If I update it to latest, then it works. I tried to delete cache from the bootloader menu, didn't help. Samsung S8. Help, I really don't want to factory reset. [link] [comments]  |

(Koodo) Posted: 23 Apr 2020 01:52 PM PDT So I generally keep my data off but if I happen to receive a picture message through text I'm not alerted. Obviously I can't view it until I turn data on but I'd like to be alerted so I know I received a picture message. I'm using a Huawei P30 Lite. I tested the same thing on my gf's phone (Samsung galaxy s8) and she still gets alerted with her data off. [link] [comments]  |

The problem is, my phone doesn't have a password, it has a pattern to unlock it. I've never had this problem before tonight, and when I try to enter a password, the UI crashes. I can't decide and some of my key concerns are the following (as I've understood it): Pros/cons: +s20 edges vs -OP edges -s20 battery vs +OP battery -s20 exynos performance issues vs OP SD or exy in EU? +s20 size vs -OP size (I like the size of my s8 but could stretch to a little larger) -s20 software vs +OP software Was also thinking of getting some kind of wearable and so far the galaxy wearables have sparked biggest interest. I've recently heard android 10 has hearing aid support and I can hardly contain my excitement! Having sound stream directly to my hearing aids will be a life changer. I know android is a bit spotty when it comes to updates. So I figured I'd ask if someone can point me in the right direction as to where I can find information on when the update will come to my phone (Galaxy J4×). I tried to root my Galaxy M20 SM-M205M but something went wrong once the Odin finished cause it got stucked on a bootloop. Then i realized that the name of the file i was using was "ROOT-M205F-U1-Android 9 Pie.tar" i guess that was not made for my phone version. After a short investigation i downloaded the SM-M205M Firmware from Sammobile, it came with 5 files and i put each file in its respective field (using Odin 3.14.4) i tried to follow the instructions. Posted: 23 Apr 2020 11:53 PM PDT I'm using the Udemy app to play videos and I have to start/stop/rewind quite a bit and it's sitting up on a stand as I type. I'd love to have a voice command to do these thing. I don't know if the app has voice built in or if the OS can do that for any app. The Udemy app is basically a tutorial app that plays videos and has basic functions. | Will notifications still pop up after force stopping the app? Posted: 23 Apr 2020 09:13 AM PDT I want to prolong the battery of my device so I force stop it whenever I will go on a break. (also on dark mode FWIW) The settings for my social media apps are set to high priority (banner, sound, vibration, show on lock screen). | Phone's signal becomes bad after having it for months? Posted: 23 Apr 2020 02:45 PM PDT So this is something that happened to my last phone and has now began with my current one. After having the phone for not even a year the signal starts to get REALLY bad. This seems to be the worst at home no less, no idea why and nothing has changed with the surrounding environment since both phones started having this issue. Nothing I've searched for online for hours helps. Making calls being difficult is one thing, but another is just how badly this absolutely drains the battery. Recently i have expanded my android ecosystem with a Fossil Gen 5 smartwatch and Samsung Galaxy Buds. I've been trying to find a dock which can charge all 3 of my devices together, with a possible addon of charging a battery bank. So far all i've look at, are designed for the apple ecosystem only. LG and Panasonic have some support, but they aren't as likely to work. Sony and TCL don't support mkv at all. Are there currently any TVs that from USB, play: 10-bit HEVC 1080p video 5.1 channel FLAC audio PGS or VobSubs subtitles VLC for Android supports these. I tried to find an Android device for decoding video and sending it to a TV through HDMI, but only found "TV boxes", which are used for streaming video from online services. While I like the new device, the built-in volume limit now applies to all output devices and cannot be easily overridden. I like having a limit for my 3.5mm headphones, but my Bluetooth devices work best when my phone is at 100% volume. Is there a way to remove the bluetooth volume limit? Posted: 23 Apr 2020 02:55 AM PDT I'm considering purchasing a rather cheap (but in good condition) Samsung Galaxy S7 from my mate (£30, in the UK) - I'm not an Android user at all (pretty much stuck to older Nokia non-Android handsets in the past) but was wondering if it was still a viable handset to use if a third party custom ROM was installed onto it. Basically all I need from it is the ability to access my GMail account on the go for job hunting (along with the stored contacts I have in it), access to Google Maps along with Internet Browsing (to be done via WiFi only, as my SIM has limited Data) - any input would be greatly appreciated. | Help with Audio Control issue. Posted: 23 Apr 2020 08:10 PM PDT Hi, recently I've been experiencing some issues with my device where the audio control slider continuously pops up when a wired headset is plugged in. This issue does not persist when the headset is unplugged, and first began happening after I accidentally let my phone die about two weeks ago. I have already factory reset my phone once prior after the lower half of the screen ceased working following my phone dying, and I hope to only need to do that again as a last resort.
