My application will be a security application. You can make 10 users that can access up to 100 files. The files that you want to be accessed can be added manually be entering the file path for the file in the application's settings. To access the file, you will put a username and password from one of the users made, and you will put in a code you made for the file. I am naming Flash Drive Login, since the application works on a Flash Drive. Please let me know if there are any better names I can name it. Once released, it will be available on a website. | Posted: 01 Apr 2020 08:15 PM PDT I'm trying to use an art program that isn't properly configured to work with Windows ink, or at least I suppose its Windows ink I actually cannot tell all I can tell is that it's not accounting for the first bit of movement. It's like when you make boxes on the desktop with a pen at first the Box doesn't appear until you drag it out a bit except Windows accounts for this somehow with the pen, I don't know what I'm saying my point is this program doesn't account for something so it just doesn't work correctly and it's almost unusable in this state, i've looked up methods to fix this online turning off Windows ink doesn't work sadly I think what could work is if I had a way of getting the computer to accept pen taps and drags and all else the pen dose as either finger taps or Mouse clicks, I looked it up online and I guess there used to be a setting that would allow you to turn on a legacy mode of sorts where the pen would emulate Mouse clicks but I think it's been removed and I can't find any tutorial of how to edit something like this in the regedit or just two activate it at all from anywhere. Can anyone help? It would mean a lot to me. I should also mention before I get a comment about this, yes I have tried this program on many different tablets, i've tried Surface, Samsung, a bunch of Wacom tablets I've literally tried everything the only thing that seems to work is running the program on something that's not Windows 10 which just isn't an option for me at the moment. | Reset to factory settings has failed with multiple methods - SOS! Posted: 01 Apr 2020 05:13 PM PDT Hello all! I am having a hell of a time trying to prepare a Lenovo Yoga 730 laptop for sale locally. I logged out of all relevant accounts and apps on the machine and then navigated to the usual Recovery > Reset > Erase all Files and Settings, and let it do it's thing. Around 20% of the way through it kicked me to an error screen that said "Windows couldn't reset, nothing has been changed." I thought this may be due to the fact that I had selected to erase all drives and partitions, including Lenovo's recovery one that includes drivers. Maybe Lenovo had some measure in place to prevent novices from losing the drivers and freaking out. No worry, I thought, and tried again - this time selecting only the OS partition. Same result. I then tried creating a recovery drive. After the tool completed, I used the "Recover from a drive" function to initialize a wipe and reset. I chose the option to wipe all data and clean the drive. Since I'm selling locally and it was just a personal machine, I'm not very worried about taking any more extreme measures than that and figure that Windows' built in cleaning tools will be good enough for this purpose. At 76%, this recovery method has frozen. The spinning wheel has stopped spinning, and the screen has displayed "76%..." for 3 hours now. I'm at a loss here. The last option I can think to try is using Media Creation Tool to make a bootable Windows installer and then doing the dinky little quick format option to erase my previous install partition in the "select install disk" menu before reinstalling to the drive. I don't want to do this because it doesn't seem to be nearly as comprehensive of a data erasure measure and doesn't feel like a responsible choice, even given that it's just a personal machine selling locally. On top of that, I'm not even sure if I should shut down the unit while it's "stuck" on 76% because I have no idea what that might do. I guess it doesn't really matter at this point if it borks the image or any of the data... I have a buyer ready to meet, and seemingly no way to just friggin' reset the computer to factory settings. The only thing I can think of that might be causing the problems is the Lenovo factory recovery partition which only contains drivers as far as I know. I've never had an issue like this after resetting dozens of PCs over the years, and any further advice for what to try next (without compromising data cleaning) would be MUCH appreciated. | Windows Consumer Editions over Windows Server Posted: 01 Apr 2020 10:56 AM PDT Hey, I was wondering if there's a compelling reason to use windows Consumer Editions over Windows Server. Little bit of background. I used to use Windows Server 2012 on my old laptop as I got a Windows Server license from my university's MS Store page, and had lost my Win7 key. I used a website server to workstation .com or something and used the server OS till about Christmas 2017, till the laptop was almost in its deathbed. After that I got a MacBook because I was going to a different college for masters and that was what was preferred. Now I'm about to graduate in a few months, and am planning to get a PC. I still have some people in my earlier college who I can ask to share a licence with me as not a lot of people need that server license anyway. So, should I get a window 10 pro license or use a server 2019 license. Is there any downside to using server as a daily driver on a PC? Or is it going to be better using a server license for normal workstation use. I'll be mostly using it for 3D CAD, some VFX/procedural generation, Rendering, Ableton Live, and playing games once in a while. [link] [comments]  | ||

I prefer using local accounts on my PCs but during set up connected to my WiFi so it made me finish setting up using a Microsoft account. Afterwards I created my local account and removed the Microsoft account but several times a day Windows logs me out of the local account whilst I'm actively using it and when I log back in (again to the local account) I get a message in the notification window saying one of my accounts needs attention and my Microsoft account has reappeared in the emails and accounts settings page. This is getting really frustrating and I've removed the account several times now, all the different ways I know of (from the main setting page, using run etc.) and it keeps coming back. It's interrupting my work and kicking me off my online games when it logs me out. The only other thing I can think of is to reinstall Windows but that seems like a huge hassle to go through just to fix this when there should be a simple solution to remove the account. Within Gvim I see all the airline symbols are not showing. Some are like rectangle boxes. What KEEP NOTHING means id windows update will keep everything??? I don't use Microsoft account but local one. I installed all my programs and everything was fine. Then after windows update so many old stuff came back. I had sandboxie installed before but not in the fresh install.. but windows update returned sandboxie folder. Also, my revo unistaller was installed today 01-04 .. it was showing correctly, bit after win update date of installation is yesterday.. I own a lenovo laptop, and it's relatively new, I actually have no idea what the problem actually is, except that my mice, and USB sticks don't work.
