This error started happening on random devices. Does anyone have the same issue?

I didn't release anything, didn't change anything about the app.

    My map fragment XML:

    <fragment android:id="@+id/map_stops" android:name="com.google.android.gms.maps.SupportMapFragment" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" tools:context="com.comprovei.entregas.fragments.TabTripsMapFragment" />

    The fragment code:

    public class TabTripsMapFragment extends Fragment implements OnMapReadyCallback { @Override public View onCreateView(LayoutInflater inflater, ViewGroup container, Bundle savedInstanceState) { View view = inflater.inflate(R.layout.tab_fragment_stops_map, null, false); ChildFragmentManager() .findFragmentById(R.id.map_stops); mapFragment.getMapAsync(this); return view; } @Override public void onMapReady(final GoogleMap googleMap) { ... } }

Google Store's AI suspends apps without any warnings

Google Store's AI suspends apps without any warnings

I'm a small indie developer from Russia.I had several apps in my account. One of them was about Tarot cards.

Several days ago I got an email informing me that this application was suspended without any warnings.

    App was suspended

As I suppose, Google's AI had checked my in-app assets and detected images, that were marked as a Sexual Content.

    Here is an example:

Sexual content. Google, are you sure?

The fact, that I used Classical Tarot Waite Deck - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rider-Waite_tarot_deck. Images, that are allowed even in Wikipedia.

    It's akin to classical art.

Anyway, when I was publishing it, I got a Rating Certificate with all required Age Restrictions:

    Age restrictions

And If I got any warning, I would change all my assets to Google's crazy rules, like that

    Sexual Content Censored

But I've got not even email about this problem. Nothing at all!

Now, Google offers to make another compliant version of my app and try to publish it.

But I had several in-app subscribers, who have paid subscriptions. I have several ADs campaigns in Google Ads. And I don't have access to update my app. I have to change it's bundle.

I think Google Play's developers should change their regulations about suspending applications.

Why do you require a Content rating, If you are ignoring it at all?

Why didn't you sent any warnings? Do you trust your AI?

You are in danger even you have any apps, that contain any classical or modern art. You should adapt it to more suitable to Google Play's rules like that:

Classical Art compliant with one or more of Google's Developer Program Policies

Now, I have applied two Appeals, but no one answers me. Every day I'm losing my livelihood.Google, are you Ok with it?

Launched a New Android Dev Newsletter Called "onCreate Digest", Would Love to Get Your Feedback

    Posted: 23 Apr 2020 09:40 AM PDT

tl;dr: Here's the first issue of the newsletter.

    Hey there,

I've been developing Android apps for the last eight years, and it would've been a lot harder for me to improve, without the great content out there.
And though there are already several newsletters (Android Weekly being the most popular), some of you might like my curation as well.

So check out the first issue of onCreate Digest, you can subscribe if you like it, and feel free to send me any feedback.
    Thanks!

Looking for help with COVID-19 charity app

    Posted: 23 Apr 2020 06:17 AM PDT

I'm a student and a software developer working on a team that's creating an app to help people get through the coronavirus pandemic. The app's name is CO-mmunity. Its basic function is to serve as a bridge providing easy access to certain resources users might need in order to give or receive help For example, a person looking for digital volunteering opportunities might be connected to the American Red Cross, and a person looking for food might be shown Feeding America's list of local foodbanks. Those two people can even be the same person. Right now, we have a full UI flow and much of the programming done for the iOS version. However, the project is in need of assistance if the app is to be released in a timely manner. We need a visual designer to make our pages well-organized and good looking. We also need help with developing an android version of the app (we currently have an iOS version). If you are interested in joining the team, please contact [adimaggio2021@mka.org](mailto:adimaggio2021@mka.org) or CO-mmunity#9928. Also, please reach out if you have feedback or ideas. We really believe in the project and its potential to do good. We would love to have your support in this charitable effort.

HELP! UDP Socket Sending Data but not receiving

    Posted: 23 Apr 2020 11:47 AM PDT

I am working on an application that sends a UDP message to remote servers on the network to search for servers. In this app, I am able to send packets to the server but cannot receive anything (shows timeout exception). I have tried changing the code, and also checked the packets in Wireshark - the packet is being sent but the server does not return anything back to me. Any reason as to why this could be happening? I'm pretty sure my code is correct but there could be issues. I am very new to Android and socket programming so I have had issues with it. Thanks!

    Cost of development?

    Posted: 23 Apr 2020 07:49 AM PDT

Hi all, sorry I'm sure this has been asked before but I'm just trying to aquire a bit more knowledge here. So I recently created a small safety consulting company (legit its just me and one buddy) and I'm wanting to get a small app made. Like nothing crazy, just something with 4 buttons and have it to where both him and I can view each others work. I'm not a technically inclined person but I am able to spend time and learn if need be. But I was wondering if from my ignorant standpoint in what goes into app development if this would be something thats within reason to pay someone for? Or is it a bit of a pricey ordeal that would be better to take my time and learn? On pricing I wouldn't be trying to shortchange anyone or anything, I try to not be a shitty person haha.

If anyone would like more information to give me a better idea of a quote please message me and I'll give you a quick rundown of the set up I'm aiming for. Nothing fancy by any means.

Thanks for any help and insight everyone, have a good day and please be safe out there.

    Signal processing and real-time algorithms

    Posted: 23 Apr 2020 11:06 AM PDT

Hi all. I am developing some algorithms using signal processing and computer vision and would like to put this software on my Android device and use the live camera feed as input. I have a working python prototype which uses libraries like NumPy, Scipy, and OpenCV.

I am trying to find the best way to turn this prototype into an app. I would like to call fast C/C++ libraries from my Java code to carry out matrix and vector operations such as cross-correlation, FFT, peak detection, object tracking.

Basically I'm wondering what's the easiest way to turn vectorized python code into a simple Android app? Does anyone have suggestions for libraries I should look into? Am I right in thinking it will be faster to call C++ libraries from my Java code?

    Thanks
