| Is the Note 8 Pro a good buy? MiUi, overheating, Software updates? Posted: 01 Feb 2020 06:58 AM PST Hello, my Mi A1 is stuck at the loading screen for the past few hours and I'm looking into getting a new phone. The Note 8 Pro seems to be the best option due to the low cost, pretty good camera and gaming performance. My questions are: Is overheating an problem? I've owned a MediaTek phone before and any gaming would make the phone burning hot. How are the updates? Coming from an Android One phone, updates are really important to me, is Android 10 out globally and for how long are new updates expected. Lastly, my question for all people moving form Android One to MiUi, how was the transistion? Was it a positive expirence, did you get used to the new look? If there are any other threads similar to this one or any reviews of the phone, a link would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! EDIT:What are your Antutu scores? I see some Youtubers with 220K and others with 280K points. I'm very confused. FINAL EDIT: I will go to the Mi Store tomorrow to see if the video oversharpening is a serious issue. Honestly I'll probably go for the Mi 9T, even though it's missing an SD Card slot. The MediaTek processor and all the crap that it comes with it (overheating, Miravision) just aren't worth the 50€ price diffrence. No disgusting notch, Snapdragon processor, AMOLED display, in-display fingerprint sensor, it only has a 500mAh smaller battery and no SD Card slot. Overall, Mi 9T all the way! [link] [comments]  | ||

| Mi Air Purifier 3 – faulty PM sensor? Posted: 01 Feb 2020 12:43 PM PST Just get new Mi Air Purifier 3. I returned it once because I found that the PM2.5 values were going up and down all the time in a same sequence (004>157>004) wherever the device was standing. I got new from the retailer and this device shows 001, then 007 for a second and then 001 again. This value doesn't change even when the window is open. It changes only when I start making mess with a towel in the front of the sensor. I don't believe to these values because previous device showed me 020-030 (what is usual in Prague city center) first 2 days. And then it started acting weirdly. I'm I an idiot or is it a problem? | Help... Mi 9T Pro screen will not turn on during a call. Posted: 01 Feb 2020 12:11 PM PST During a call, when I move the phone away from my face to use it (either to end end the call or use an app), the screen remains off. The only way to make it turn on is pressing the on/off button twice. By doing this I lock the phone and im also forced to enter the password or biometric to use the phone. After searching the net a bit I found an unlock tool that allows one to bypass the Mi Account. I used the tool according to its instructions and was able to successfully bypass the account. The problem is that once the phone reboots it still shows the locked screen where it tells me to "activate the device". The tool also comes with an option to Disable the Mi account but that requires me to turn on the USB Debugging but I need access to the device settings for that which I obviously don't have. | Volume button fell out (xiaomi redmi note 7) Posted: 01 Feb 2020 12:27 PM PST Title is pretty self-explanatory. I have no idea wtf could cause it since I've always had a case on. Today for whatever reason I decided to use it without the case and the button just fell out. When you put it back it works normally, it's just really loose. Is it possible to change it myself (if yes any tutorials/vids on this)? Or will they do something about it in the store I bought it at? Anyone has any idea what could've happened?
