PSA: The OnePlus Gallery app might be filling up your phone storage Posted: 28 Feb 2020 09:09 AM PST TL;DR: the OnePlus Gallery app conflicts with Google Photos and doesn't let you free up space on your phone when you expect to. My 64GB OnePlus 5T has been running out of storage lately, and I wouldn't gain any free space from using the "Free up space" feature of Google Photos, which deletes all your locally stored photos and videos that have already been backed up to the cloud. After doing some investigating, I realized that the OnePlus Gallery app (which I never use) has been moving all of my deleted media to a "recycle bin", instead of letting Google Photos actually delete the files off my phone. I had 15GB of photos and videos in that stupid recycle bin that I never asked for or enabled. It's super dumb of OnePlus to include this feature in their Gallery app which clearly conflicts with Google Photos's normal functionality. Goodness knows how many other people have been running out of space on their phones because of this, and never knowing how to free up that space. [link] [comments]

OP6 Auto Brightness Still not working right even with 10.3.2 Posted: 28 Feb 2020 05:54 PM PST I am both sad and happy about my OnePlus 6. I found Android 9 just so rock solid stable on this phone. Auto brightness worked perfectly after it learned my preferences after several days. And even though this phone is approaching 2 years old it's still fast and totally usable. Ever since I upgraded to Android 10 (and even now on 10.3.2) auto (or adaptive as it's called) brightness just doesn't seem to work reliably or learn properly. Randomly the screen is just very dim and I have to manually turn up the brightness. At least on 10.3.1 (haven't had .2 long enough to test yet) sometimes it would wake up and be dim, but the slider would be in the middle where I normally keep it. As I touched the brightness slider without even moving it, it would suddenly snap up to the brightness I like. I've come to the conclusion that moving the slider while adaptive brightness is enabled is just a temporary override and the phone isn't learning? How can you test this? Go into a dark room and raise the brightness a bit. Then hold the top of your phone up to a very bright light and notice the slider doesn't move. Toggle adaptive off and on, then as you move your phone to the light and away the slider moves all over the place, as it should. I've love to hear other people's experiences and if this is the case, what was working fine in Android 9 has been broken for multiple releases with Android 10. [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Feb 2020 04:25 PM PST Yo! Was wondering what you guys' thoughts were on what makes OxygenOS a better experience than stock Android 10? Is it features like Game Space, UI differences, or what? Putting together a video explaining the main differences and want to make sure I hit all the most important things. Thanks for any thoughts! What the hell is going on with my battery? Posted: 28 Feb 2020 02:40 PM PST Today I charged it to 97%. 6 hours after unplugging it, I have 34% battery left. 2 hours and 24 minutes SOT. I have every kind of battery-saving mode activated. I checked details, everything was pretty normal: 3% Reddit, 4% games, 2% WhatsApp... 11% "-5"! What the hell is -5? It has the android icon. Is it some kind of virus? I downloaded a few apks, like Gcam, Lucky Patcher, pretty normal stuff. But why is my battery draining so fast? 4000maH! Can someone help me? Edit: I just remembered I have had hotspot always active, but I didn't expect it to drain that much battery. Is hotspot the problem? I used it to give internet to my laptop since in these days my WiFi is having problems. [link] [comments]
Automatic audio playback after connecting with Bluetooth headphones Posted: 28 Feb 2020 04:51 PM PST Hello OnePlus community! I recently enabled a feature to automatically start playing music after I connect wireless headphones, but now I find it annoying and for the love of God can't find this option. Do you maybe have an idea where I can find it and disable it? [link] [comments]

Posted: 28 Feb 2020 06:24 PM PST Is there an option to have your phone auto restart once a week? Just wondering because restarting regularly seems to help performance. [link] [comments]
If you're having issues with your speakerphone on the 7 Pro. Posted: 28 Feb 2020 03:15 AM PST I'm sure I'm not the first to file a bug report with OnePlus, but if you have a second, head over and add on to the report I have filed. I just would like to have a functioning speakerphone, without having everyone say they can't hear me. https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/speakerphone-issues.1189694/ [link] [comments]

Does anyone know how to make night mode forced on the lock screen? Posted: 28 Feb 2020 11:07 AM PST My eyes get fucked everytime I open my phone at night cuz Night Mode gets disabled when you use the fingerprint. I don't understand why they can't just disable it only on the fingerprint sensor. [link] [comments]

Incorrect bluetooth audio song info (behind by one track, consistently) Posted: 28 Feb 2020 03:31 PM PST I've done a fair amount of googling, there are a number of people complaining about this issue, but specifically for Spotify. One person is using a Oneplus 5, in her 2016 Seat Leon, she tried a number of different BT developer options settings changes, not sure which Android version. I'm using a 7 Pro, car is a 2019 Camaro. Other posts on the Spotify support forum mention that it happens with iOS as well. Spotify staff do not have a solution. Some of the odd things I've noticed... Sometimes pulling down the notifications pane will cause the display on the screen to update. Sometimes swapping over to the streaming app will make it update... but not reliably. The first song I start playing is USUALLY accurate, then I swap to waze, put it in the car mount, and all bets are off. Track will consistently be behind by one track. Other times it will start out showing the title of the song from the last time I was in the car, which is totally bizarre. Track length seems to update accurately, but title, artist are /always/ behind. When the next song comes on, it'll update to the prev song that just ended. I heavily favor Youtube Red, but I think this happens with all streaming apps. I poked around for some notification settings, nothing really jumped out at me. I'm going to try disabling battery optimization, and try leaving Youtube Red at the front, maybe even leave Waze closed completely to try to isolate the problem... Any input would be greatly appreciated! [link] [comments]
Default apps enabling themselves when disabled Posted: 28 Feb 2020 12:09 AM PST So I uninstalled and disabled YouTube since I use YouTube Vanced and Chrome since I use Firefox but for some reason after a day or two the apps are enabled again. How do I permanently get rid of them? [link] [comments]

OnePlus 7 Pro and terrible performance in Pokemon GO Posted: 28 Feb 2020 08:30 AM PST Hello there, I have OnePlus 7 Pro 12/256 and just tried Pokemon GO and it felt... really laggy. It's so weird that I have 90 fps in menu or in almost every app you can imagine, but in Pokemon GO it's 15-30 fps (value is not stable for sure). On the other hand, older phones (like Mate 10 Pro from Huawei) provide me constant 60 fps and 0 lags. Am I doing something wrong? Is there any option somewhere in the phone that will allow Pokemon GO to perform admirably compared to other games? Thanks a lot for help! [link] [comments] |
