Meaning not needing to go to the App Store and download an app to set a gif as a wallpaper. I was text messaging the owner and we arranged a meeting time and location, when he said "Great! Cya there WhoopWhoopShabadoo!" I was surprised because I never told this person my name. When we met, I asked him in person how he knew my name and he said it displayed on his phone while I was texting him. I was stunned because I had no idea my name would appear when texting messaging someone. For privacy reasons, does anyone know how to disable or opt out of this feature ??? [link] [comments]  |
| Verizon has disabled call/msg continuity!?! Posted: 27 Feb 2020 08:55 PM PST So I have a Note 10+, just got a Tab S6. One of the features I was MOST excited about was the Samsung call/msg continuity feature, but Verizon has disabled it (insert expletives here) AND the Samsung Messages app didn't come installed on the tablet and isn't in the Galaxy Store. Aaaaand of course I didn't realize before buying the tablet from Verizon and so I can't return it for an unlocked one. I know part of this is that they're trying to force the use of their message app, but I've used it in the past and hate it. Hoping someone has a brilliant workaround/app suggestion. I have almost every Google app deactivated in my phone (Samsung A20, Android 9) but a few days ago YouTube and Chrome started to appear on my phone. The apps just gets activated. Any help? Other things: - Happens like once a day - Every time that the app reappears i deactivated it again. - I used to use YouTube but now i use Vanced (the problem appeared around the time i deactivated the oficiall app) - I uninstall Vanced but the problem is still there, just with Chrome. - I tried changing the options: permissions, background data and battery. - Around the same time i changed languages (spanish to english) to practice my english. - Sorry for my english! | S10e voice recorder bug or limitation?? Posted: 27 Feb 2020 08:43 PM PST So I record a TON of voice memos for guitar and vocal song writing ideas, the built in voice recorder on my S10e typically auto-populates a number as the title of whatever memo I've just finished recording. I've noticed that after hitting 1000, what it does is names each subsequent recording 1000-1, 1000-2 etc. the problem is, once you hit 1000-10, all future recordings saved with the default title will automatically overwrite 1000-10. I often go back through and re title or delete certain memos when I get to sorting them but when you're very busy or driving it's way more convenient to let it save with a default title rather than having to try and type something random in. Is there some way to increase the limit, or restart the number count back at 1 somehow?? Thanks. [link] [comments]  |

| How to Copy Files in Work Profile off Device? Posted: 27 Feb 2020 03:44 PM PST I used the Island app to install some social media apps like whatsapp in a work profile. Now I would like to use some of the images and files I have downloaded but when I browse me phone storage via usb I dont see the files from work profile anywhere. How can I access thses files and copy them off my device? Thr island app mentions executing some debug command to enable sharing files between personal and work profile but I do not have a computer setup to do that. Thanks [link] [comments]  |

The problem is the video automatically pauses upon starting up the game, and trying to unpause it from the window on screen repauses it after you press anything in the game. Perfect example of this is the original Pixel - the glass panel got scratched to fuck without a case, but the majority metal back was almost pristine after 2 years of use. Posted: 27 Feb 2020 04:15 PM PST My current phone is the Samsung A50 and I'm planning on upgrading to a new flagship phone later this year (probably ONE PLUS 8 Pro) . A few of my friends have said they've used Viper4Android and told me that it was worth the root. I'm using BOOM 3D as my sound/EQ app, its ok nothing special, how does it compare to VIPER? | Custom ROM for Moto G3 that can have the stock apps disabled Posted: 27 Feb 2020 03:14 PM PST I'm looking for a custom rom that would allow me to disable the phone and messaging apps on my Moto G3 so that they don't show on the app drawer. I don't want to install a launcher that would make them hidden and I've looked into rooting the device but I'm not interested in doing it. I'm currently running AOSP Extended V6.5 on it, and only V5.8 I can't disable the two apps in the settings or via the ADB command "shell pm disable-user" like most of my friends have recommended to me. Anyone know of another custom rom that would allow me to disable these two apps? P.S. -- V5.8 is Android 8.1 and V6.5 is Android 9, and I'm looking to run Android 9 or higher on my phone... but would be happy running 8.1 [link] [comments]  |

I have a OnePlus 3 and it's no longer getting any sort of updates which probably means I need a new phone soonish due to security reasons. On other android versions, when I load a file, a dialog pops up asking me what app I want to use to load a file and I can choose to always use the same app or just use it once. In this case, it doesn't give me the option of choosing once or always. It always just defaults to always once I choose an app. What can I do about this? [link] [comments]  |
| Android 10 (Pixel 4XL) and mDNS Across VLANs Posted: 27 Feb 2020 08:17 PM PST I've got mDNS between VLANs working correctly as I can see GoogleCast announcements between VLANs (Horray!) However, I'm running into an issue with the Android version of YouTube not discovering CAST devices (my nVidia Shield in particular). I was doing some research, and I ran across this link. Specifically, this line:
What the heck does that mean? What are the specialized discovery mechanisms and how can I duplicate them? The issue I'm facing is that YT will not see my Shield, and that means I can't add videos to Play Queues from my phone. Has anyone gotten around this? I've got mDNS running inbound and outbound from the WLAN VLAN interface and the "media" VLAN interface. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! [link] [comments]  |
