HP LaserJet Pro MFP NVRAM reset

    Posted: 30 Dec 2019 04:00 PM PST

I was doing some maintenance on all of the printers at the office, but an admin password was set for the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M225dw. No one remembered it, of course, so I had to do a factory reset.

Any questions on the HP message board ended in "I'll DM you the answer so you don't brick your printer."

So I'm going to post the instructions here, in case anyone else ends up in a similar situation somehow.

    Follow the steps below-

    NVRAM Reset
For Printer that has bundled touch control panel:

    1. Turn off the device.
    2. Press and hold the lower right quadrant of the touchscreen, keep the quadrant depressed as you turn the product on.
    3. When the 'Permanent Storage Init' message appears on the display, release the button.

For Printer that has bundled LCD panel:

    1. Turn off the device
    2. Press and hold the right arrow + Cancel (X) button, keep the button depressed as you turn the product on
    3. When the 'Permanent Storage Init.' message appears on the display, release the button.

    0.5fps in bios

    Posted: 30 Dec 2019 04:51 PM PST

Built a new pc last weekend. Got rog strix x470-f gaming mobo and r7 3700x. Had to use my old r5 3600 to update bios so I could run the 3700x. With old bios and 2600, no issues with bios. With latest bios and 3700x the mouse is completely unusuable. It's like I'm running at 0.5fps. No issues with keyboard. I wouldn't mind but wanna set fan curves..

Anyone experienced this or know how to fix?
