Mi 9 VS MI 9T Pro.

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 04:14 PM PST

    Which do you choose?

Is there an information which camera sensor the Mi 9 use? Is it the same IMX586? Which camera is better?

Does Xiaomi got any fast charging limitator?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 02:18 PM PST

My Samsung Galaxy M30 had a fast charging enable disable switch. I bought a Xiaomi redmi note 8 pro and I was wondering if it had a similar option. I want this option because fast charging is killing batteries.

Also does it have the option to charge until 90% and then stop. Or something like that.

Will a 256GB microSD work on the Redmi Note 5 (Global)?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 06:28 PM PST

Hi guys, just wanted to shoot a quick question.

I was thinking of buying a 256GB microSD for my phone on Cyber Monday, but then I checked the device's "official specs" and it said "microSD cards up to 128GB". Which I really can't believe, because even my 3DS and PS Vita can handle 256GB cards. Is there some software limitation which doesn't allow 256GB microSD cards?

    Or they work just fine?

    Thanks for any help!

Mi Mix 3 vs Mi 9t pro?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 12:47 PM PST

Planning to buy a phone today, which phone should I get? I like the form factor of the mix 3, but the specs and camera of the 9t pro entice me. However, wireless charging + more bands w the mix 3 has me leaning toward it, since I also don't think I need that much processing power. The battery issue is troubling though if it is still a thing. Thoughts?

also, anything a new Xiaomi user should know?

    Thanks!

Hi all I'm going to buy first Xiaomi phone and after doing some research I have a choice between these phones:

    • Redmi Note 8t

    • Redmi Note 8 pro

    • Redmi Note 7

The price is about 50-60 bucks difference.

    Which would you recommend?

How usable is a Redmi 4a with MIUI10?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 02:35 PM PST

So my aunt just got a redmi 4a

I've set it up and update it to miui 9 but I haven't had the time to check it out

Should I upgrade to miui 10?

    Is it fast ?

Does the 2gb of ram make the phone lag?

Also is it an upgrade from her Lenovo a7000?

Is it worth the extra $100 for the mi 9T pro vs Mi 9t (standard)?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 08:14 AM PST

I heard the camera sensor of the standard mi 9T is sony's IMX582 vs the pro's IMX586... Are the camera quality all that different or is the pro's camera quality superior?

Also is it worth the extra $100?

If not then how long have you been using it without screen guard and did you get any scratches?

    Cannot backup some files

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 01:45 PM PST

Hello. When doing local backup of app data through xiaomi settings, some apps (actually more than half) cannot be backed up. Why is that? I read that app developers can disable the option to backup their app but the number of apps that cannot be backed up just seems too much, so the issue might be somewhere else. I also heard about migrating from China ROM to Global or EEA but I have this phone for like a month and haven't been doing anything technical with it so far.

Mi 9t Pro Issue - Black screen after call

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 01:01 PM PST

I've got a weird issue and wondering if anyone else has the same problem.

I've got the Mi 9T Pro global version.

When I make/receive a call and put the phone to my ear the proximity sensor works as expected turning the screen off. If I remove it from my ear within 5 or so seconds the screen turns back on.

The problem is if I'm on a longer call 30+ seconds when I take the phone away from my ear the screen stays black. This makes it really difficult to hang up. I have to either press the power button once and then use fingerprint to unlock and then press the hangup button, or I've found if I double tap the power button sometimes it unlocks and I can press the hang up button.

On all of my other phones the screen would turn straight back on after taking the phone away from my face. Has anyone else got the same issue?

I'm on MIUI 11 now but this was an issue on MIUI 10 as well.

I've tested the proximity sensor in diagnostics and it's working fine.

I'm a huge fan of this phone but this issue is driving me crazy.

Mi 9 lite Mobile Data gone after todays MIUI Global 11.3.4.0 Stable update

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 04:25 AM PST

Installed update in the morning on my commute to work, which was supposed to eliminate some issue I've never even had (device rebooting when playing music). Since it updated and rebooted I can't connect to mobile data anymore, and my signal for calls also sometimes just goes to "emergency calls only"

    So far tried:

    - creating custom APNs
    - reset wifi, mobile data & bluetooth
    - factory reset

Any solutions I should consider besides switching phone brand? Is there a way to get back on the version before 11.3.4 (I didn't really pay attention to what the version was) ?

I got this phone since almost 2 weeks. Was working perfectly fine before todays update.

New to pocophone need a lil bit of help, please;)

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 12:13 PM PST

Hi, just got a pocophone today and was wondering if I could get some help, especially around notifications.

I think I read a few reviews which did mention there were some problems, was just wondering if these were sorted and I'm just not seeing them maybe?:)

Is it possible to get app icons in the notch for notifications? Not showing up for me at all:(

Can you set WhatsApp and SMS messages to not preview the content. My previous phone was Samsung and it had an option to make this private. Just showed a message received but content hidden.

I'm sure I'll run into other problems lol but if anyone could help with those two or offer tips for beginner setup or somesuch thing, that would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks::)

PS I am not using a root system or anything. Not sure I would be capable of doing such a thing even

    Mi 9t must do

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 12:12 PM PST

So I picked it up today. What are some things that are a must do? Possible features that should be turned off or on?

I haven't used miui for several years so it's going to take some getting used to again. Is there anyway to get the apps to look similar to my mi a1?

Does the Mi 9 have a "fake" speaker?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 01:35 PM PST

I be just noticed that sounds only comes out of one of the speaker holes on my Mi 9. Does the phone only have one speaker and one "fake" speaker or do I be a faulty phone?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 11:31 AM PST

If someone holds Mi 9t pro in one hand and iPhone 11 Max Pro in another and asks me to take one permanently (not allowing me to sell it), I would take Mi 9t pro.

Are there problems if you unlock then re-lock a bootloader?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 02:29 PM PST

I just want to unlock the bootloader to enable Camera2 API (I want GCAM baby!) then re-lock it again as I want to try things like a banking App. Will there be issues with Banking apps if I do so?

Are there other problems that occur if you unlock then re-lock a Xiaomi phone other that voiding the warranty? I'm not intending to add a custom ROM at the moment. Stock ROM is fine with me.
