But, doing so is kinda pointless other than that, and I can really only do so much, since the CPU and cooler would need to stay in tact, since removing the CPU cooler would scuff up the thermal paste most likely. | How is this Black Friday build for Cyberpunk 2077? Posted: 29 Nov 2019 09:22 AM PST It has been a while since I built a new PC, so my time for a new one coincides nicely with the upcoming release of Cyberpunk 2077. I was hoping to keep the cost lower than this, but I'm willing to push it if these parts will really be a lot better and last me longer than the next step down. I am also going to be checking prices for Black Friday/Cyber Monday to hopefully score better deals. Do you guys see anywhere I can make cuts? I may drop down to a cheaper case, but I've never had a "flashy" PC before. Will the stock heat sink and those case fans be enough cooling, or do I need to invest in a better CPU Cooler and more fans? I'm willing to cut back on the CPU and/or GPU if you think lower ones will allow me to run Cyberpunk 2077 well at Med-High settings (I know we don't know requirements yet). Thanks for any input!

Posted: 29 Nov 2019 01:23 PM PST for me, heres my opinion: the ram itself was the easiest, followed by the cpu. rhe ram was kind of hard to get in fully since it would get stuck or whatever but it was easier after taking it out and reputting it back in. the cpu itself (not including the fan) was also the easiest as it's just line up the arrow and put it in. the hardest would be the front panel connectors. I dont know why but literally every. single. build. guild. doesnt. go. over. these. I had to check my manual and figure it out on my own because for example, bitwit's guide is literally just him plugging it in with no real explanation or actual close up, meaning I couldnt even tell where he was plugging it in. for the most part following the mobo manual is more helpful than any guide I could find and it frustrated me the most that no guide really went over front panel connectors in depth. I had some issues with the MSI B450 Tomahawk, had some questions on what to buy and in two separate threads, a bunch of you folks gave great advice! The boy is currently rocking on his new Machine and loving the performance gains. Ryzen 3600X MSI 570 edge mobo 16gb Corsair 3600 ram MSI RX 570 8gb VC Corsair Carbide Air540 case Upgrades will include 16gb more ram, NVMe drive and newer video card. I fell in love with the Corsair case. It made wire management so easy. If you have the room, I can't recommend it enough. | LEDs and fans still running after shutdown Posted: 29 Nov 2019 02:46 PM PST To start, this is a prebuilt PC so im sorry if thats an issue but i really need some help here. Just bought an HP Omen and when i got it, i first had issues with it freezing on bootup. It would freeze before i got to the Windows log in screen. Had to hard reset it a few times and eventually it started working. Not sure if that was because it was still cold or what. Now, when i shutdown the PC, it doesnt fully shutdown. Key board and mouse lights turn off, but LEDs inside the PC along with fans and the light on the GPU stays on. The weirdest part: If i click the power button, it doesnt boot up again, it just does nothing. So everytime i shutdown, i have to hold the power button and hard reset it, then click the power button to turn it back on. | Custom build for office: self build or system integrator? Posted: 29 Nov 2019 11:44 AM PST I'm between 2 options for my work rig.. build it myself or buy from a system integrator. My desire to go towards an integrator is all about optics. If something goes wrong it's their issue. My work is all Macs so convincing them that I need a Windows machine (which I legit do need for my job) was tough enough. My brother is pushing me to custom build myself, which I completely understand, I just don't want something to go wrong and them to come down onto me. I understand I can save a ton building it myself over buying prebuilt. However I'm not certain the savings over a system integrator like iBuyPower or cyberpower is worth the risk. I'm also considering getting a second monitor, but I dont think my cpu could handle 2 monitors, it's a FX 6300 6 cores @3.5ghz. My motherboard is the M5A78L-M(i know, it's really old and outdated) but if I get a new cpu I'll have to spend more money on a new motherboard so its compatable, and ddr4 ram since mines DDR3. | Need Help Deciding Between two GPUs Posted: 29 Nov 2019 03:39 PM PST Hi Reddit. Today is Black Friday and I have decided to get myself a GPU upgrade. I have a $300 dollar budget, and there are two deals I have found. A refurbished Gigabyte 2060 OC GG, and an XFX RX5700 DD ultra. The 2060 has 6 gb of GDDR6, with the 5700 having 8gb of the same. These cards are the exact same price, and I'm pretty sure that they are almost exactly the same performance, but I have also seen GN's review of the XFX 5700xt, and it is not good to say the least. This scares me away from the 5700, but I have also heard that these issues pertain only to the 5700XT. I also have a freesync monitor. (1080p, Overclocked to 200 fps). If you have had experience with either of these cards, (Preferably the 5700) Please let me know about your experience, and which card I should buy. | Posted: 29 Nov 2019 03:36 PM PST Finally the time has come to replace my beloved R9 280X which I expected to have replaced years ago but it kept on surprising me by somehow still powering through games like AC Odyssey at 1440p and a manageable 30 fps. But now I really want to play RDR2 and later Cyberpunk 2077 and enjoy the visuals of those games as much as possible so I'm afraid it is time to say goodbye. I can get the Vega 56 for 250€ and the RX5700 for 330€. What is the better deal? The goal is 1440p 60 fps and I don't know how relevant this is but I have a i5 6400 processor and 8gb RAM. This is my first time making any upgrades to my computer, and I am very anxious.
