Have you ever see an app you like fall from grace? Android Apps

Have you ever see an app you like fall from grace?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 12:27 AM PST

An app that gets worse and worse each update.

Long before I settle on Nova Launcher, in gingerbread era, I love GO Launcher. It has every features I ever need, while I tried many other launchers, I always go back to GO Launcher.

After so long, I tried to go back and see how far my old favorite launcher is doing, and by god.... They removed features, put VIP subscription system, and add useless gimmicks. wtf happened?

Another app that fall from grace for me is SHAREit. It used to be a simple and straightforward file sharing app, phone to phone and phone to PC or vice versa. Now it somehow add.... video and game discovery? Even the sharing function is hidden behind a myriad of menus, THE FUCKING CORE FUNCTION TAKE A BACKSEAT. Also the ads... Oh. So. Many. Ads.

What's an app you used to love but now has been updated to shit?

    SUGGESTION. Your favourite app currently.

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 06:41 AM PST

As the title suggests, I would like to know what you guys have as your current favourite app. Need suggestions to download some new apps for my phone. No games, though. Not into gaming much.

My current favourite- Focus Bot. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.naver.focusbot&hl=pt_BR&referrer=utm_source%3Dgoogle%26utm_medium%3Dorganic%26utm_term%3Dfocusbot

How do I get SwiftKey to stop suggesting unrelated words even before I start typing?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2019 11:40 PM PST

The textbox is empty. Yet, SwiftKey suggests '23', 'Namaste', and 'SwiftKey' at the beginning of each sentence now. I've only typed those words a couple of times. It would've been okay if it had been generic words like 'Yeah' or 'okay' but this is ridiculous. I really don't want to use gboard anymore, it refuses to capitalize 'i' and it drives me up the wall.

Looking for an app to track daily tasks where you can add text "answers" rather than just checking things off

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 08:54 AM PST

    Hopefully this makes sense.

I'm looking for an app where I can both keep track of, and be reminded about, daily activities. As an example, I would be like to be able to set up a daily list of "activities" like such:

    • What time did you get out of bed? [requires a time input]
    • Did you shower this morning? [requires only a way to mark whether it was completed or not; bool]
    • Did you brush your teeth? [requires only a way to mark whether it was completed or not; bool]
    • Did you have breakfast? When? What did you have? [requires a bool and a text answer, with time input as a bonus]
    • Did you go for a morning walk? [requires only a way to mark whether it was completed or not; bool]
    • What did you do this afternoon? [requires one or more text answers]
    • Did you go for an afternoon walk? [requires only a way to mark whether it was completed or not; bool]
    • Did you have lunch? When? What did you have? [requires a bool and a text answer, with time input as a bonus]
    • Did you spend any money today? What did you buy? [requires a text answer]
    • Did you have dinner today? When? What did you have? [requires a text answer, with time input as a bonus]
    • What did you do this evening? [requires a text answer]
    • Did you eat anything else outside of meals today? What did you have? [requires a bool and a text answer]
    • Did you talk to anybody today? Who did you talk to? [requires a text answer]
    • What time did you go to bed? [requires a time input]

Sorry for the long example, just wanted to try and get across exactly what I'm looking for, since no matter how I word my searches I can only seem to find either "boolean only" style tasklist apps or fitness trackers, neither of which I am looking for.

I realize this is probably a pretty specific set of requirements, but any suggestions would be much appreciated (I'd much rather download something than attempt some half-baked solution myself using my incredibly rusty dev skillset)

TL;DR: Looking for an app where I can make a daily routine of tasks which can accept booleans, times, and text as ways of 'checking them off'.

App to prompt you reminders as soon as you unlock your phone

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 04:55 AM PST

I want to mitigate my mindless phone usage and been looking for something that prompts a popup on the screen as soon as I unlock it.

Like: "hey, are you sure you need to use the phone right now?" Or: "DUDE. THE FUCK? CONCENTRATE."

Where can I get something like this?

    Waze and Google maps integration

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 06:22 AM PST

Long time waze user. Just switched from ios to android. Prefer the new Google maps to waze, but notice I don't get near as many alerts as I did in waze. The app is only as good as the user base. Since Google owns waze and both apps would benefit, when are they going to share alerts and be truly integrated with each other?

    Other play store clones advises

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 08:00 AM PST

Hello I have to update an application because a developer thinks it's a good idea to force user updates (if user doesn't, he got scrwwed - just like whatsapp did).

    • I'm unable to use YalpStore(developper gone wild?)

    • And aurora store has some weird signature issue (apk downloaded and installed but it seems to fail to launch on some secure apps)

    • APK Pure reports that the apk is not published on the store

I have a modern phone and android 9 Am I forced to root my phone if I don't want to use Google Apps?

Btw technically, this is "forbidden" in Europe, Ms got sued for force pushing media player into windows...

Looking for good text messaging app for seniors, that can send images

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 11:28 AM PST

Hi, I've tried finding a good solution for this, but haven't gotten any. I've found lots of text messaging apps that are designed for seniors but can't handle attaching images or doing 3 way chats. I'm looking for such an app. Any recommendations would be welcome.

App that shows only the highlighted parts in a PDF?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 03:22 AM PST

    Hi there,

I'm looking for an app where you can highlight parts in a pdf-file (text) and where it's also possible to only show all the highlighted parts in said pdf. I know that the kindle app has this function however, I believe that you can only have your own bought books from amazon on that app. None of my coursebooks are available on Amazon so that's why I can't use Kindle.

I want to use this app for studying so that I'm able to only see the most important parts/parts I want to use in my schoolwork. Instead of having to flip through the pages all the time.

Does anyone have any ideas for an app where you can do this?

    Music Notes scanner

    Posted: 28 Nov 2019 11:47 PM PST

I'm looking for an app with which you can scan musical notes with the camera (or inputting them manually) and the app will output sound of what the melody sounds like. I'm really bad at reading notes and would love to use something like this to make it easier to recognize the melody, to memorize it.

Is there something like this out there?

How much would it cost approx. to create an home-delivery app like Zomato but for shopkeeper (retailer).

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 08:04 AM PST

The app should have: 1. A client dashboard that'll receive the orders 2. The delivery partner dashboard for collecting orders and delivering them 3. The customer interface that the customer would use to book orders.

I think there'll be 3 separate apps for each role. Let me know how much a developer should charge for creating an app like this for Android only/ iOS and Android both.

Business Calendar 2 doesn't sync with 365 calendar?

    Posted: 28 Nov 2019 10:05 PM PST

So bought this app that I've seen recommended here a bunch of times and it looks pretty cool. My main reason for buying it was to manage my work calendar, and I am on Microsoft 365. For some reason this calendar won't show up in BC2. I have re-synced the account, checked permissions, reinstalled it, and have done all the basic troubleshooting steps with no luck. Is 365 just not supported or is there more steps in set-up that I am missing?

Best app to join/stitch of any length and different sizes

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 06:37 AM PST

Most stitching or "collage" apps have certain fixed templates and fixed resolutions. I want to join pics, mostly of same width but not always. I And i want them to be joined completely and not be cropped to fit in one of the frames of a template. Is there any app that can do this?

    Trouble sideloading an xapk

    Posted: 28 Nov 2019 10:57 PM PST

App in question in actually the Reddit app itself. Older version with an apk file installs and runs fine, but I can't get a more current xapk version to install for the life of me. I've tried the APKPure app, XAPK Installer, even unzipping the file manually and running the apk that was inside it. I also reinstalled the old version and tried to run the newer version as an update rather than a fresh install, that didn't work either.

What does seem odd is there's no obb file, I was told xpak files are supposed to have an obb file.

Just to double check, I had the APKPure app pull down and install a Netflix XAPK, and that worked fine.

Any ideas? Or a better sub to ask in, if this is the wrong place?

Network monitor in real time ?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 04:15 AM PST

Does there any software like netlimiter on pc ?

I am not trying to limit the internet, but I want to see which app is using the bandwith.

Because my phone is uploading something on the background, and it makes my internet keep disconnecting.

When I turn off iwifi on the phone, my internet back to normal.

But I can't find the which app is uploading.
