    Whats your favorite Windows OS?

First post here, to give me some slack. Anyways, out of all the windowsOS's that exist, which is your favorite one and why?

For me, it probably has to be Windows 7.

    User Account Control

    Posted: 01 Sep 2019 08:16 PM PDT

so i was reading this, and it says that admin users have two separate access tokens (one standard and one admin)
does windows basically makes two accounts for the same admin user?
and does "running an app as an admin" mean switching between the two?or does it mean that the app itself runs as an admin (made the app an administrator)

Can anyone who had the spontaneous reboot issues with the last round of windows updates confirm or deny if the latest update fixes the issue?

    Posted: 01 Sep 2019 06:57 PM PDT

Basically as the title says. I rolled back to the previous update to prevent the reboots from happening and don't want to install the new update if it's just going to cause the same issues all over again.

    Going back to windows 7

    Posted: 01 Sep 2019 06:32 PM PDT

So my dad gave me his lenovo thinkpad x201 to fix up because he just so happened to find it like 2-3 years later in his house and he had done the free upgrade to windows 10. The problem is that the pc isn't that powerful to even run windows 10(atleast i don't think) so he wants me to revert it back. The pc can't even run or like get into windows 10. So i tried to download a clean version of windows 7 from the microsoft site but he has a windows 10 pro OEM. So now i'm stuck and i was wondering if anyone could help. Thanks in advance!

Srsly need help! Move windows to hard drive w/o losing data?

    Posted: 01 Sep 2019 12:56 PM PDT

I installed windows on my 32GB SSD (c) I have 2tb hdd but frnds said SSD is better for windows! Now I c lots of apps want to be installed on the same disk as windows (c) and it's doesn't have any storage anymore

so I tried to shift the windows to hdd (E) using EaseUs todo, it backed up (c) but it only has used 17GB while SSD has all 32GB , and the windows logo is still on (c) instead of (e) . How Can I delete (c) ? And use the system operator on e? Or should I just redo everything from start? Thanks a lot 🙏

[Windows 10 Pro] Troubles reusing Product Key

    Posted: 01 Sep 2019 08:54 AM PDT

    Hello,

I am in the following situation: I am using Windows in virtual machines, and I had a VM set up with my (valid) product key. I could use this VM like a normal Windows PC, and the activation worked flawlessly. But earlier this week I decided that I wanted to move that product key to a different VM. Therefore I uninstalled the product key from the old VM, as explained here, and I also got the confirmation that the key was successfully uninstalled. After rebooting the old machine, Windows told me, that I should activate this Windows install. So all in all, I think the uninstall worked.
I then entered the product key in the new VM, but now I get the error code "0xC004C008" with the flavor text along the lines of: "This key was already used on another device". Is this the expected behavior or should I be able to reuse the license (i.e. the product key) more than one time? Maybe I am misunderstanding something, but I thought that if I uninstall the key on the old machine, everything would just work on the new machine.

    Thank you for your help!

    Multimouse monitor for gaming?

    Posted: 01 Sep 2019 12:03 PM PDT

Is there any way to jump between monitors while in game with my mouse? Is there a hot key I can do this with? I am assuming there is a 3rd party app, but I am unaware of one..

Any help is appreciated.. I did google but found nothing except a reallllly dated article pointing to an untrusted app.

    Thank you

    Windows 7 substitute required.

    Posted: 01 Sep 2019 04:46 AM PDT

I have an ancient Equium- http://www.toshiba.co.uk/discontinued-products/equium-a100-027/tab/services/# (It came with a starting handle!) It won't cope with W 10, I tried, so need something simple for me, a really amateur user, to install that will run the common windows stuff. The laptop is just a backup in case the desktop blows a gasket, but it still runs nicely so don't want a new one.

    Posted: 01 Sep 2019 06:40 AM PDT

I'm fixing a relative's ideapad 100s. There was a power cut and even though the computer wasn't on at the time, windows has been stuck in a bootloop. It won't let me reset it from the computer so i'm trying to use the USB, i've set it as the boot device but it just goes back into the automatic repair loop. any idea how to fix this?

Windows Notes App for iCloud and O365

    Posted: 01 Sep 2019 01:52 AM PDT

Hi I'm new to Windows from Mac where I'm addicted to the notes app. Apple's notes app can sync notes with iCloud or Office365. That means all of my apple devices can see all of my personal and work notes.

I'm looking for a Windows app that will give me the same functionality for synchronization and offline editing. I know I can use my browser to icloud.com/notes. But that doesn't work for me since I spend a lot of time away from wifi.

I did my homework on Google and most recent answer to the above was "there is nothing". But that thread was on this forum three years ago. So hoping someone's built an app since then.

Anyone know of an Apple Notes-like app for Windows that syncs with clouds like iCloud or O365?

No option to invert touchpad scroll after update

    Posted: 01 Sep 2019 02:48 AM PDT

Hey, after updating to 1903 today, my touchpad scroll is no longer inverted and the options to invert again in the touchpad-options is gone. Moreover, despite updating drivers and all, the touchpad does not appear in the mouse options. The solutions I found so far always incorporate these options, or they can only change the scroll of a mouse. So if anyone has an idea or can point me to a "FlipFlopWheel" for touchpads, it would be greatly appreciated.

I know there's an AutoHotkey Script, but there should be an easier way, right?

How do you disable OS update notifications on the Windows 8.1 mobile version?

    Posted: 31 Aug 2019 10:33 PM PDT

My dad is using a Nokia Lumia 635 and is running Windows 8.1 on it. He doesn't want any updates on it, but his phone keeps sending him notifications about updates. He's afraid of accidentally pressing the update button and causing an update. How do you turn this feature off?

Windows 10 freezing and making monotone buzzing noise

    Posted: 31 Aug 2019 10:13 PM PDT

As the title says, and it forces me to restart. This happens every 2-3 days and it doesn't matter if it is idle or doing something. I do leave my computer on 24/7, and only downtime is when I am forced to restart due to this. It has only been doing this within the past month or so, and I have had this windows installation for about 5 months. It has done this on me before, but I don't like resetting my PC if it is avoidable. I am running Windows 10 Pro 1903 build 18362.295.
