Help me stop the German Anthem Posted: 31 Jul 2019 09:31 AM PDT So I had a BBQ a few weeks ago and had a few friends over, one of which is quite tech savvy and played a little prank on my computer. What he did was create a .bat file on my desktop with either the text - play "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NZxtUNK7Dg" or start "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NZxtUNK7Dg" (sorry can't quite remember) anyways I had a chuckle and deleted the file and emptied the recycling bin, sadly though this hasn't stopped the issue and at random times throughout the day the German national anthem will launch through chrome and start playing. If anyone could help me fix this I would greatly appreciate it, and no this isn't a trolling post. [link] [comments] |
GPU Not showing up in device manager and driver not compatible with this version of windows Posted: 01 Aug 2019 02:24 AM PDT I just built my first gaming pc today and when I opened up device manager to check my gpu, it just shows basic Microsoft and I can't find my gpu. I have a rtx 2060 and when I check my bios, it shows my gpu. I even tried installing the driver and it said that it's not compatible with this version of windows. I tried updating windows and it gave me an error. I've been trying to find a fix for 3 hours and no luck. Any help would be appreciated [link] [comments] |
Need help with a different error Posted: 01 Aug 2019 03:22 AM PDT So I fixed the whole unknown hard error thing but now I'm getting a different error where when the pc starts it's blank and only a recycle bin shows up but I cannot do anything all of the tasks I try to open give me an error. How do I fix? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Aug 2019 12:43 AM PDT Hello everyone! And thanks for finding the time to read this and maybe help me with my doubts. Soon I will buy a new SSD and I wanted obviously to install the Os in it. I have an old HDD and don't really care about the data in it. Can I just format the old HDD, attach the SSD, install windows anew and then use the formatted HDD for storage purposes without using like cloning softwares or will I incur into problems by doing so? Thank you kindly in advance for the answers and sorry for my probably bad engrish! Edit: typo and grammar, I'm half stoned [link] [comments] |
1080ti Strix unusually high temp. Posted: 01 Aug 2019 02:47 AM PDT My case is a meshify C with 2 140mml fans as intake and 1 exhaust. My 1080ti Strix is not OC'ed. I tried using MSI afterburner to ramp up the fans but it barely made any difference. Here is me playing bdo for example https://imgur.com/a/ee5uA4z 1 is remastered mode which is more graphics intensive and the other is everything on medium mode. The card is 3 years old at this point and I don't remember it going as high as this when I first got it.Before the highest I've seen was maybe a 75C.It's these last couple of months that I'm seeing these temps.Gpu is clean too. How can I delete my name on a google search? Posted: 01 Aug 2019 01:48 AM PDT Hi guys, quite a few years back when I was in high school I enjoyed watching Smosh. I liked a video on YouTube titled 'I'm sexy and I know it' which was a montage of Anthony Padilla containing short clips of him dancing and doing other random things (lol). However now when I type in my full name on Google, a public search result appears with my YouTube channel and this liked video title on the front page of Google search. I have unliked the video and the search result still comes up. I'm worried it will hinder my chances of getting a job in the future when employers do a quick google search of my name. Is there any way I can delete this to prevent it coming on Google search? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Can't connect to internet but signal strength is at max and the icon shows connected to internet Posted: 31 Jul 2019 11:27 PM PDT I have windows 10 and an Intel 9260 wireless card. The wireless icon in the taskbar always shows that the wireless strength is at max and when I hover the cursor over it, it says internet access, but I can't open a single website. Using troubleshoot gives me "default gate unavailable", gets fixed, and then happens again a few minutes later. Here's a few things I found out on my own but didn't fix much:
I've updated the driver to the latest, changed the DNS server to Google's open 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, changed to a new motherboard, turned off the power thing in the device manager for wireless card, as well as resetting the WiFi module of the Xfinity router, and nothing helps. I'd be extremely grateful if anyone can help! I'm suspecting is the router but the WiFi I use is a shared one provided by the landlord for the entire apartment building, and I've been bugging him about installing an Ethernet port with no avail. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Very Spotty Internet Connection Only on My New Computer Posted: 01 Aug 2019 01:25 AM PDT Hello, I've recently gotten a computer from Costco about 1.5 weeks ago, a Lenovo Flex 14 laptop (I think), and have been enjoying it aside from one major issue. Occasionally (every 2 to 8 minutes) my internet connection will either weaken to nonexistent levels or completely stop for 10-45 seconds. I use my computer within 10 feet at most from my router and getting closer to about <1.5 feet will not help at all. Additionally my family also has a ~6 year old laptop and a ~8 year old desktop that have never had this issue and still work fine. I can provide any additional information if needed to fix this issue thanks to anyone who can help! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Aug 2019 12:59 AM PDT Hi guys I have decided to upgrade my PC and buy the new Ryzen. First of all I want to apologize for my english because I am not a native speaker. Unfortunately I have the following problem: My PC does not start when I install the new Ryzen 3700x. I have the following setup: NZXT Kraken X62 V2 complete water cooling 11GB EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC2 Hybrid Gaming iCX AMD Ryzen 7 1700X 8x 3.40GHz So.AM4 WOF Asus ROG Crosshair VI Hero AMD X370 So.AM4 Dual Channel DDR4 ATX Retail 16GB (2x 8192MB) G.Skill RipJaws V black DDR4-3200 DIMM CL16-18-18-38 Dual Kit 850 Watt Corsair RMx Series RM850x Modular 80+ Gold Now I have installed the Ryzen 3700x and the PC does not boot. The mainboard says 33 (CPU Post-memory initialization). If I install the old CPU Ryzen 1700x the PC goes back on. I installed the Chipset Driver 1.07.29.0115 and the Bios Version 7201 before the installation. I don't know what to do :/ Edit1: I did clear The CMOS via the Clear CMOS button on the ROG Crosshair VI heros while the pc was disconnected. Now the Mainboard shows the error 07 (AP initialization after microcode loading). Edit2: I reseated the RAM and it still doesn't boot. Then I put back in the 1700x and went I to bios to check the status of the RAM. It's currently at 2133 MHz. [link] [comments] |

How do I find out what is causing my Fps drops? Ryzen 7 1700 Rx 580. Posted: 01 Aug 2019 04:04 AM PDT I keep randomly dropping to 20 fps every minute or two. I play on low settings apart from the drops I can usually get a constant 160 fps on Fortnite. I have went into a game with my task manager open over the window of the game to see if anything was spiking up unusually. My Cpu is running at 15% Ram 40% Gpu 45% With no unusual spikes. Can anyone tell me what could be wrong or even how to diagnose it myself? Thanks for any help. [link] [comments] |
Laptop turn on issue.wierd charger case. Posted: 01 Aug 2019 04:04 AM PDT My laptop stopped turning on one day after I left it running all night.. tried everything..didn't turn on.. last week (after letting it sit for 3 weeks I tried messing around with it thinking it could be an electric issue with the power button).. I started taking out and putting in the power cable connect to the laptop charger and after a couple of sparks.. voila it started but it was extremely laggy and the touchpad was not working properly.. now I tried it again but it isn't turning on.. does anyone know what exactly is wrong with it ... PS my laptop is - MSI GL62 6QF . [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Aug 2019 04:00 AM PDT Long story short: My newly build system (3700X, MSI X570 Gaming Plus, R9 290(my old GPU since I'm waiting for a custom 5700XT) 16GB RAM) is not booting anymore. It worked fine the last few days, even after installing the beta Chipset driver on Monday that finally enabled me to run my main game, Destiny 2. Last night though, after closing the game and watching something on YouTube, mid way through the video my monitor went black, keyboard and mouse also . The PC was still running though. I tried again today before leaving for work, no video, no lights on mouse and keyboard - everything inside seems to be running except one GPU fan. No debug LEDs on the Mainboard are active. Any advice? I'm a little worried that the chipset driver is the issue - and I can't revert it since it won't boot. [link] [comments] |
Need help with BSODs - minidumps included Posted: 01 Aug 2019 04:00 AM PDT Hiya, I have been getting a lot of BSODs lately. Most of them are either "Driver Power State Failure," and other time's it's "DPC Watchdog Violation." My laptop is the MSI GS65. I have recently reinstalled Windows 10 (64bit, latest version), since this has been happening before. That obviously didn't fix it, so I am guessing the problem might be in the hardware. After looking through various posts, I believe the problem might be in a faulty SSD. One thing to note is that the BSODs usually happen after I move from my desk to my bed (I always shut it down, and restart it when moving.) The laptop usually runs hotter at those times, since it's not on a stand, but the temperatures are still relatively normal, so that shouldn't be the issue. And 70% of the time it happens when the laptop is unplugged. But it has also happened while it's been plugged in and on a stand. One other thing I should mention is that my CPU is undervolted but I am 99% sure this has nothing to do with it since I had the same problems on the old Win install, which wasn't undervolted. Link to MiniDumps. Most are included, some are missing, as I'm guessing Windows deleted them after a while. These are the ones I saved. Cheers Edit: added some info. [link] [comments] |

My pc stores apk files as "Bluestacks", but I need it to say APK Posted: 01 Aug 2019 03:53 AM PDT My PC says any APK files file type is "Bluestacks Android package file", because that's the program I last used to open an APK. To be able to install the APK to my Quest (I need to test the game I'm making), I need my PC to say the file type is simply an APK. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance! "Choose an Operative System" "A Device isn't connected or can't be accessed" Posted: 01 Aug 2019 03:37 AM PDT https://i.imgur.com/fmgGUt4.jpg The link above contains two pictures of what appears in my screen every single time I turn on my computer. If I let it 'time out' it will select the top option and go to the second screen where only pressing F9 does anything making me go back to the previous screen where I need to select the bottom option "Windows 10, On volume 4". How did it start happening: I needed to install Windows 10 on a HDD for another computer, so I disconnected my HDD (Does not contain OS, that's on an SSD that was always connected) and proceeded to connect the Blank HDD. I installed it and decided to ran the Blank/Now containing Win10 to see if it worked, it did. Turned off PC, unplugged new HDD and plugged back the old HDD. I am now greeted, every time, by this screen. Code Error: 0xc000000e [link] [comments] |
Problems with files reappearing Posted: 01 Aug 2019 03:35 AM PDT So I got Segurazo on my pc and got rid of it, but a PUP of it keeps appearing in different locations every now and then and it doesn't stop. How do I deal with it? [link] [comments] |
Recommend an email client that gets on with Google services? Posted: 01 Aug 2019 03:30 AM PDT I do work for a company that uses Google services, and I've been using basic Windows Mail to manage my emails and calendars. However apparently Windows Mail does NOT get on with Google calendar invites and throws a load of nonsense back when I accept invitations which is causing pissed off clients. For now I'm using gmail in a browser, but I'd rather use a desktop application to handle my email and calendar stuff for this company. Can anyone recommend an application that deals with google stuff fine? [link] [comments] |
I think my pc just got hacked, please tell me what the fuck just happened Posted: 01 Aug 2019 03:27 AM PDT I was in the middle of a game where out of nowhere my pc just types something along the lines of "wr.winrar/g9" (or something similar, I can't remember all the letters / words) in chat, as if trying to input a command, but thank god i was in a game because it just typed it in chat instead. At the same time my mouse started moving like crazy and i got scared, alt f4'd the game, shut down my laptop (through the power button) before anything could go further and came right here to post this. I am using windows 10. I have a bought antivirus. I run Malwarebytes regularly. I don't remember installing anything recently or opening any sketchy emails. This must be some kind of super-virus and I'm way too scared to even turn on my laptop at this point. Please help me out i don't know what to do. I have 0 experience regarding computers and software and keyloggers. Sorry if i broke any unspoken rules of this subreddit it's my first time posting here, if there's a better subreddit for this please tell me. [link] [comments] |
