Hey guys I just got my note 7 pro, got it on AliExpress, and I was wondering what's the best gcam for this phone? I know there are tons of gcam versions out there, and some don't work as intended. Thanks in advance

Use your microsd card as internal storage (no root)

    Posted: 23 Jul 2019 12:58 AM PDT

If you bought a cheap xiaomi phone but you are running out of storage, you can use adoptable storage function to convert your micro sd card as the internal memory. This menu is hidden in MIUI but available for use in miui 9 and 10.

    0) Backup important files or photos in microsd card

    1) Download Activity Launcher

    2) Change view to All Activities

    3) Select Files (below file manager), then open any option. This opens up the android file manager.

    4) Click menu button on top left, switch to your micro sd card.

    5) Press the 3 dots on the top right, choose storage settings

    6) Select format as internal and follow the instructions. Keep your phone charged while it is moving data

Now your android will have more storage for apps, and you can download bigger files without any insufficient storage issue. use a fast v30 memory card.

Remember to always backup your data and use google photos to sync in case your memory card corrupts. Your phone will not be corrupted if the memory card spoils because only user apps are moved, and the critical system app remains on the phone.

Settling the Samsung display argument once and for all: Mi 9, (probably CC9), K20, K20 Pro all have the same Samsung panel

    Edit:

Mi Mix 3 also has the same panel as you can see in the VDE datasheet.

All have the same 6.39" Samsung panel with 103.8% NTSC coverage. What can change is the software color calibration.

    Snapchat and Instagram Camera

    Posted: 23 Jul 2019 11:27 AM PDT

I bought Red Mi Note 7 today and the image quality of snapchat and instagram is absolutely horrible. I used to use Htc one m8 and even though its an old phone, it was way better. I heard its a common problem but is there anyway to solve this?

My first impressions of the Mi 9

    Posted: 23 Jul 2019 08:45 PM PDT

    Hello Everyone,

After months of waiting and research, I was finally able to buy a Mi 9 (6 GB ,128 GB) yesterday. I had two choices when I went to buy a phone: Xiaomi Mi9 and OnePlus 7. Both were around the same price (Mi 9 430$ and OP7 470$)

I went with the Mi9 because I preferred having 3 cameras over one main camera. But the major doubt on my mind was MIUI. I have never used MIUI before. Coming from a Mi A1 with pixel experience rom, I thought the MIUI experience would be not so great. But to my surprise MIUI was quite simple and easy to use. All the menus are laid out properly and everything is easy to use. I tried using full screen gestures too, there was no lag but I found the on screen buttons easier and faster.

However, there are some bugs in MIUI Stable 10.2.13. The most annoying is the notification icons not showing in the status bar. Another thing I miss (not a bug though) is the app drawer but I'm slowly getting used to it.

One minor complaint I have against the Mi9 is the charge times with the included charger. I got the global version with the international charger. The specs on it says the output is 5V-2.5A / 9V-2A / 12V-1.5A. The phone took roughly 1h30mins to fully charge from 10%. Interestingly my Mi A1 (with custom FrancoKernal) charged from 5% to 100% in 1h05mins. Yes, the A1 has a smaller battery 3000mAh compared to 3300mAh but the A1 doesn't support quick charge. As I know Mi9 supports both 18W and 27W QC. Is it something to do with the adaper I got ?

I am impressed with the camera on the Mi9. The speed of the device is really good too. It's fast and smooth. I got around 7h30mins of SoT. I'm really happy with the device.

I hope someone found this useful. :)

Block calls by country code in MIUI

    Posted: 23 Jul 2019 11:06 AM PDT

In regular Android, you can block calls by country code. But I'm not seeing where you can do that in MIUI. I want to block all calls from Malaysia, which are 100% scam calls. Malaysia's country code is +60, but my area code is 604, so I don't want to block local calls as well. Is there a way to do this under MIUI or has their custom interface killed this option?

    Mi Notebook Pro Fan Noise

    Posted: 23 Jul 2019 03:00 PM PDT

I've had problems with my Mi Notebook Pro's fans for over a year now, and I've tried a myriad of different remedies. Since school is starting again for me soon, I would like to get it silenced. My original plan was to get a desktop PC for gaming and content creation and unplug the fans, but I think I'm not going to get that for a while. Does anyone know what remedy works the best for stopping the fan rattling sound? I've heard putting lithium grease or sewing machine oil in the original fans, which I'll have to rebuy since I bought a new set of fans which can't be opened up :(.

    Thanks for any advice.

Hi, I'm looking for a lawn mower and I simply love all Xiaomi products... Since they always come at a good price and still keep great quality.

So I was wondering if anyone know if they have a robot lawn mower & of course if you'd recommend it.

    Mi 9t screen responsiveness

    Posted: 23 Jul 2019 06:20 AM PDT

Just got a mi 9t and after hours of usage I realised the screen is ....lagging? Scrolling thru Reddit/Twitter feels choppy, as if it's running at 30fps. I'm not sure it's just my eyes playing trick or....but I definitely feels different from my mate 10 although both have 60hz panel. This choppiness is causing my eyes to hurt everytime I scroll. Is this a software issue or am I just not used to the new screen o.o

My god WIFI SUCKS on MIUI

    Posted: 23 Jul 2019 08:52 PM PDT

I really came around to like MIUI and not wanting to flash a custom Rom right away...

But my god does the WiFi suck so much, its unbearable

(Mi 9T) First out of the box... Cant connect to WiFi... Tried a lot of things but the only Thing that worked was changing the security encryption from WPA2 to WPA/WPA2

Thought to myself, finally... its done... NOPE

I cant connect to public wifi spots at all... The login prompt wont come, when i click on login on messages it just sends me to some shitty setting page thst has one single button: automatically connect? Yes/No

Doesnt help at all... nothing helps

Now i connect to the Router with which i did this WPA thing and it says "no Internet" even though it clearly has Internet with other devices

Wtf xiaomi... Researched a lot, no one has the answer...

Anyone know where other usefull wifi setting are? Perhaps to change some stuff? Or do i really have to flash a custom Rom?

EDIT: Nevermind i found the same issue on all Smartphones BUT Laptop and others worked???

    A router restart fixed it....

But i still have the issue with public wifi, i have 0 idea how to go about, researching gave only a lot of people who still have the issue and no fix, i suspect some wifi settings or protocols needing to be installed

How can I get the best out of my mi 9 se camera?

    Posted: 22 Jul 2019 10:34 PM PDT

Hi there. Today I bought the mi9 se. I am trying to figure out if I like the stock camera or gcam more. Unfortunately the gcam I have installed doesn't seem to have hdr+. Which is a feature I really love. Also I think night sight is unavailable? Does anyone know of a mod that at least has hdr+?

Also just wondering if anyone has any general tips or info on settings I can use to get the most from the camera.

    Thank you :)

New Xiaomi user. from iPhone, need your help/advice

    Posted: 23 Jul 2019 12:43 AM PDT

    Hi,

I just received my Mi 9 yesterday. I've been using iPhone for years.

What would you recommend me to do ? tips and tricks to ease the change ? (I still have my iPhone and I'm not sure yet about changing totally).

Right now the only thing I've done is to install Nova Launcher (tried Poco launcher too, any other ones you like ?), put the full gesture settings and sort/dl my app.

Any advices, to help to change and leave Apple for good ? ^^

EDIT : Do I have to clean stuff ? Can/should I get rid of some apps ?

ROM version differences for Redmi Note 7

    Posted: 23 Jul 2019 08:45 AM PDT

    Hello everyone,

I just got a hold of my new Note 7. From the ROM code, I have the EEA version. I had already downloaded the Global rom to install but found that this came with the EEA version.

    Is there a difference?

Can I flash the Global version over the EEA?

    Thank you
