My wife is paranoid that someone could have installed some sort of spyware or hacked OS on it allowing them to see everything I do on it. It came factory reset. | Downloading firmware from a place that isn't SamMobile Posted: 23 Jul 2019 09:48 PM PDT Device is a Galaxy Note 8 and the latest Samsung OTA really messed my phone's connectivity up and I'm looking to downgrade to the version installed prior to the latest. I've looked around and Updato seems to be deserted , the forums are all spam accounts and I can't seem to get their activation email even if I register. Sammobile free version doesn't work anymore as after waiting 30 seconds nothing pops up even if I'm willing to wait the 4-5 hours for the 15kB/s. SamFirm works but it seems to only grab the latest variant (tried it anyways, same behavior even flashing everything again via Odin). [link] [comments]  |

For example: I'm wanting to extract snippits audio from certain podcasts as mp3, wav, wma etc. I essentially need to hit play on a podcast, then hit record on the audio recording program, then stop them when needed and then export the recorded file to some kind of usable audio format. | Why do games go slow on my Samsung Galaxy J6? Posted: 23 Jul 2019 08:37 PM PDT I updated it about two weeks ago, installed BanG Dream! Girls Band Party and now it goes extremely slow, without me being able to play. Then, I tested it with other popular games (Subway Surfers, Neko Atsume, etc.) and they also go extremely slow, so it's not the game's fault. Apps installed before the update are okay, though. Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know how to fix it? I've tried apks, but I've not tried resetting the phone on fear of every app I have going slow, instead of just the ones installed after the update. Please, if someone has an answer, give it. | Messages App acting strange with group MMS threads Posted: 23 Jul 2019 04:49 PM PDT Something strange started happening today with my Messages app. Normally for group messages, I would only see the other recipients names and not my own. Today, previously existing group messages would branch off into a new chat and include my name on the recipient list. So for example, before today, lets say I was texting Alan and Ben. I would have group text between us three and it would display their two names up top. Today, Alan replied to the same group chat he always has, but it came in as a completely new thread and the recipient list was Alan, Ben and Silentdaze. This happened with three different group chats I have. I checked two of the people's phones and they are using the same thread they always have (both iPhones). Also, when I reply to the group chain, I receive my own message back! I don't think I changed any settings - what could possibly be causing this and how do I stop it? [link] [comments]  |
| Sprint LG G6 password locked out while phone was in airplane mode. Posted: 23 Jul 2019 08:32 PM PDT So, my Dad is visiting me for a while, and he puts his Sprint LG G6 on airplane mode to sleep. He uses the fingerprint scanner to unlock his phone but occasionally his phone will request a password to unlock, which it did this morning. And he subsequently realized that he did not remember the password since it recently made him change it, and if he has it written down then it is somewhere on the other side of the country. Since the phone is still on airplane mode, he can't change the password remotely. The guys at the sprint store said that we would have to wipe the phone, but I would like to avoid that if possible. | Sideloading Google apps on an eink device Posted: 23 Jul 2019 08:01 PM PDT The Kingrow K1 E-Ink phone is on indiegogo: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/kingrow-k1-the-healthy-phone-cares-your-eyes It is a phone that uses android 8.1 with an eink screen, and due to the low screen refresh rate – google have not allowed the device access to the official play store. However I need to use google apps like Calendar, Docs, Maps... etc. From what I read it is possible to sideload apps onto android device – but I can't find clear information on if this always works. This reviewer (Redskull) was able to load on he Youtube – and he says that MOST apps will work. Does this also mean that all the google suits of apps will work? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3o54XFjJUM I have written to Kingrow to ask them specifically but no reply as of yet. | Please sign in using one of the previous user's account Posted: 23 Jul 2019 10:05 AM PDT So yeah,i bought a new phone a few months ago,and this week i saw a friend using an old ass flip phone,so seeing as my older phone was still working great i thought I'd give it to him (moto g4 plus) i wanted to format it,but couldn't remember my lockscreen password,so i hard formated it,and now the thing is its asking me to sign in using the previous Google account, which is obviously mine, I'm trying and it doesn't recognize it,i tried everything, removing the g4 from google devices,re-format, I'm all out of ideas... | International dual SIM Moto e5 play on Verizon? Posted: 23 Jul 2019 04:00 PM PDT My mother's Asus Zen Phone broke so she purchased the Moto E5 play (international dual SIM variant) on Amazon. When she inserted the sim card and booted up, she had no network at all. I had her do a network reset and the sim now reads as Verizon and has internet access but no MMS/sms/phone calls. We checked the mobile network settings. They all match what I'm finding for Verizon's required settings. When I had her check the apn info, what I found online had port 80 and a few other values not listed in her apn. I tried to have her create a new apn with the values required but she does not have that option. She is currently calling Verizon now for help. Unfortunately, I am an hour and a half away from her and do not have the phone in my possession and have to run all troubleshooting through her using my father's cell phone. Is there anything I'm missing? Also, it says "no sim" but shows Verizon. Is this because she is using a single sim in a dual SIM phone? (According to her, there is no value after "no sim" to indicate it is missing sim1 or sim2) Any help and/or suggestions would be appreciated, thanks. [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 23 Jul 2019 06:15 PM PDT Like the title says, after my phone's (S8 Active) most recent Android OS update (One UI version 1.1, Android version 9, the rest is in screenshot) my YouTube app (version 14.28.55) will open and attempt to load but just constantly spin the load icons (also see screenshot). | Using LineageOS keyboard on other ROMS? Posted: 23 Jul 2019 02:21 PM PDT Noob here, don't know if this is the right place to ask this. Recently I've been a lot more concerned about privacy and I want to distance my self with Google as much I can on my current device. At the moment I'm using a OnePlus 6t and there is no official build of LineageOS for the 6t. So I've been trying to un Googleify my device as much as possible without Root/TWRP but I've hit a roadblock, Gboard. Having Google watching me type everything and giving me dumb suggestions is very annoying (I know Google could still be watching, but I would still like not to use Gboard.) Long story short I find the APK for the LineageOS AOSP keyboard off of APK mirror install it and nothing pops up when I try to use the keyboard. I've tried using other third party keyboards and they work, I've tried disableing all other keyboards with no luck. I'm on a OnePlus6t on the latest version of OxegenOS. Thanks in advance! | Google Assistant Voice Recognition Different in My Country Posted: 23 Jul 2019 10:29 AM PDT I noticed while travelling outside my home country the assistant works flawlessly. At home it has trouble recognizing words. For example every time I ask it to set my living room light off it recognize "set the" as Satya. I don't have an accent and I've tested the same commands on Siri. It's frustrating and I'm wondering if it processes my voice differently based on my location.
