Posted: 31 Jul 2019 07:14 AM PDT I'm working on an app that should enter into an existing niche but provide much more value (IMHO). There are a number of existing apps that provide the basic service and they have subscription plans. Is there any way to estimate how much they are making in order to have an idea of the market value? Any ideas would be much appreciated. p.s. I'm developing the application for my personal need, so I'll do it anyhow, but it would be very interesting to see if it worth the effort of investing money in advertisement and developing a subscription plan... I was wondering is there any default settings or apps I should change for a better experience as I'm a little clueless as to what's best (like google pay > samsung pay) for example Love the phone by the way only downside is the battery could be a little better. | Dark Sky widget isn't updating Posted: 31 Jul 2019 08:35 AM PDT Hello, I have a Samsung Galaxy S9+ running on Pie. I have the pro version of Dark Sky. The widget does not update. Its hit or miss which days it will update. The notification bar works just fine. I have cleaned cache, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, restarted my phone , all my settings are as they should be. I have a Oneue 6T and the Google calendar widget is not transparent and if I can get the dark mode to work it is all black in the widget but for whatever reason it is buggy and won't stay dark. There are some apps that work like "find my phone" and just play some sound, but I am looking for an app that can actually switch the system setting. The use case is very simple. My wife often puts her phone to silent when there is a short-term need, but regularly forgets to turn the ringing back on afterwards, so most times I have a hard time reaching her when I need to. This way, I could send a command to turn the ringing on and then call her. | IR remote app that supports a USB-C IR blaster? Posted: 30 Jul 2019 02:21 PM PDT I used to use Anymote, but my current phone (Oneplus 6T) has no IR blaster. I bought a cheap USB-C IR blaster from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F7GPNF3 (one of several variations in packaging, it appears), and the vendor recommends the ZazaRemote application, which is terrible. Not even completely translated from Chinese.. Is there another application that supports this USB attached IR emitter? Or even any other USB-C attached IR emitter that's know to work... I'll spring a few $$$ to buy something that actually works. My primary use-case is when I'm traveling on business, and end up in a hotel room with the TV / STB all screwed up in some way or another. In some case, the remote in the room won't let you access the setup menus, so you can enable HD resolution on the STB and TV, maybe switch the language back to english, etc. So being able to search and select random brands of devices needs to not suck too much. I've done some google scouring and downloaded a pile of apps but they don't happen to overlap right where I'm looking. The app I'm thinking of would have
The thing that I can't seem to find easily in the sea o apps are is actual graphical summary data for the group vs just seeing your own and then using a forum kind of format to just tell everyone about it. The only exception to this seems to be steps/distance for connected running trackers where some of them display rank stats for you vs your friends - what I'm looking for is manual input of numeric things other than steps and to have it do a good visual summary/comparision. If that were not possible, are there any habit trackers that show good visuals for the group together? If the activity goal were just binary then could still have some visuals showing Tom met goal 4/7 days this week, Sara met goal 5/7 days, etc. Any direction or ideas welcome, thanks!
