What are the benefits of having everything Samsung?

    Posted: 23 Jul 2019 07:57 AM PDT

To clarify on the title I mean to have Galaxy buds, watch and phone be Samsung. I currently have the Galaxy buds and watch but have a Pixel 2 XL. Are there perks to having all three being Samsung like better integration? Or are the differences not as significant whether my phone is a Pixel or a S10.

    Thanks!

Is there anyway to customize these apps or remove some of them?

    Posted: 23 Jul 2019 08:38 AM PDT

This is when I hit the "share" button on various apps and they show me what apps I can share with. I'm frustrated it doesn't show my more frequently used apps at the top. caption

How is the A70 for MetroPCS?

    Posted: 23 Jul 2019 07:56 AM PDT

Planning on buying a new mid range smartphone because my s8+ is already on the way out. The a50/70 is looking really enticing, but is it compatible with the MetroPCS/T-mobile network?

Bought phone from Samsung, unlocked. USA. No update since May 31st. Are updates still being rolled out or should I call customer service?

    Edit: S10

    Bixby Alarm defects discussion

    Posted: 23 Jul 2019 06:59 AM PDT

Does anyone else have any experience with the Bixby Alarm not working?

I have 3 alarms set on my Galaxy S9: one at 7am, one at 8am, and one at 9am. All of which are set with the Bixby alarm. However, only the 9am alarm actually reads out the weather and says my name, the other two don't. Also, if I turn one of the other two off then none of the alarms will say my name or read the weather...

    Anyone else have this issue?

Mods: This isn't a tech support question, it's a Samsung feature defect discussion.

Galaxy s10+ or Oneplus 7 Pro

    Posted: 23 Jul 2019 01:01 AM PDT

I've been using a Huawei P20 Pro for the past year and I've finally had enough. The biggest issue I have with the phone is the battery "optimization" that Huawei implements to get that stellar battery life they boast. By "optimization", they mean shutting down every app you don't look at after a few seconds. I have missed countless Snapchat, Twitter, Facebook Messenger, and Facebook notifications due to this issue and it really impacts day to day performance. Even with Huawei's suggested fix of disabling the automatic battery-saving settings, the issue persists for the majority of apps and even the apps that are "fixed" continue to miss notifications frequently. To me, this is unacceptable and somewhat defeats the purpose of having a phone, to begin with, especially with 6 gigs of RAM. The other issues are Huawei's pathetic EMUI and a disgusting amount of bloatware that can't be removed.

I'm looking to upgrade and the two phones I have landed between are the Galaxy s10+ and the Oneplus 7 Pro. I can't decide between the two and am hoping for someone to push me over the edge either way. I know this is the Samsung subreddit but I'm posting in r/Oneplus as well to see their side of the situation.

    Reasoning for Oneplus:

-Snappy 90hz screen with great resolution and colors

    -No notch/hole punch

-OxygenOS is super smooth and snappy compared to OneUI

    -Android software updates

    -30-watt charging

    Reasoning for Galaxy s10+

    -Great camera

    -Best and brightest screen period

-Samsung Pay which I use frequently

-Overall well rounded and safe choice for features from a reliable company

-Gorilla Glass 6 and better-looking edges compared to the OP7

-Better battery life, although I have read reports of less than stellar battery life on the s10+

    Concerns:

-I've read a lot of reports of Huawei-level app killing on the Oneplus 7 Pro

-I'm worried the hole-punch camera on the s10+ will get annoying over time.

-Worried I'm missing out on 90hz if I go with Samsung.

-I'm very concerned about ONE UI's smoothness, having used TouchWiz in the past.

-Worried about the cellular performance of both phones, and have read mixed reviews for both.

    Notes:

Price isn't an issue, I just want the better choice and don't want to compromise. One big advantage for the OnePlus is the motorized camera. I know that its riskier and may break, but I rarely use the front-facing camera and see this solution as the best on the market for a rare user of the camera like me. My biggest issues for both sides are the battery saving reports for the Oneplus and the annoying hole-punch for the Galaxy. If the app killing is a serious problem I am leaning very hard towards the Galaxy, since that's the reason I'm leaving Huawei to begin with. I've been on the fence for days now and keep finding reasons to doubt either choice. Any help I can get in making the jump is appreciated!

    Note 9 audio in earphones?

    Posted: 23 Jul 2019 05:44 AM PDT

When using the S9's speaker with dolby atmos enabled and equalizer set to rock it has a very interesting sound and makes some songs sound totally different, I was wondering if there's a way to have the same sound but in earphones, I tried playing in mono too but it doesn't sound the same or even close.

Edit: just realised the phone has 2 speakers not 1 so obviously mono won't work

    About screen protectors

    Posted: 23 Jul 2019 05:39 AM PDT

I have a galaxy s8+ I got plastic film protector from Walmart on sale and I didn't install it right it's to far over on one side and bugs me so been thinking of getting a curved glass one.

I do have a case and the plastic film fits fine with it, it's the OtterBox symmetry case.

My question is, will the glass screen protector fit on it? I'm assuming it will since the curved film protector fits over it with plenty of room. Just wanted to make sure before spending money on a good glass protector.

    Warranty replacement?

    Posted: 23 Jul 2019 05:37 AM PDT

So, straight to the point, I have purchased an s10+ via carrier (payment by installments). It started having problems from day one, it didn't recognize the sim card... tried switching sim cards and other things but no go. So I called the carrier and said that they could easily replace the device, but needed to send it from point A to point B, new phone from B to A so it would take a week or so... impossible... I had to go on vacation and take pictures with the phone, they said that was ok even if I returned it when I come home. Two weeks later, i call the carrier to check if they accept the phone, nope, only within 10 days from the purchase -____-

I was also pissed off from a previous experience with Samsung (I posted about this, https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS9/comments/bu1657/s9_bad_battery_life/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share) but brought the phone into a certified repair center, they kindly replaced the motherboard and was all good for about 2 days... now I'm having minor issues like glitches, apps close themselves, touch screen is not precise, ecc... really annoying stuff. Who should I contact now?

    Galaxy S9 Plus Cracked Screen

    Posted: 23 Jul 2019 05:25 AM PDT

Hi I just wanted to ask for some input from this community as most of my friends have iPhones and their advice has been pretty lame. I cracked my S9 plus about 4 months ago and have been debating on what I should do. The phone is completely functional minus a spider web crack on the screen. I immediately bought a case that comes with a screen cover and have been using it ever since. I guess my question is if I should go and get the screen repaired or if I should just wait it out and buy the S10 or S10 plus once the S11 is released. Repairs are around $250 and I could trade in my phone to Samsung for a normal S10 for around $550 after the mail in rebate.

TLDR; Have cracked screen on S9 plus, debating trade phone in for something else, get screen repaired, or trade phone in at a later time when new phones release

My husband has an S10+ on AT&T and still hasn't received the RCS update though.

Will there be future updates support for A70?

    Posted: 23 Jul 2019 12:33 AM PDT

Hello, I am a big fan of OneUI, Samsung's displays and the features & Customisation rich Os. I know Galaxy S & Note series will have minimum 2 year update support, I was wondering if it's the same for A series?
At this point A70 price is equivalent to S8+, and refurbished S9. So I'm a bit skeptical about getting an A series.
