Posted: 02 May 2019 10:48 AM PDT *Asking for a friend ;) So uh a website I wish to use says that they use socks5 if you want to continue maintaining contact with them and to get your stuff. (torrenting) Now before I continue. I just want to make sure, and be 100% sure. They say they provide a socks5 connection or something. But just to be safe, do I myself need to download something? Or do I just click the link and I'm magically connected via the SOCKS5 protocol? Thanks. [link] [comments]

Zyxel router stopped working after unplugging Posted: 02 May 2019 01:12 PM PDT Hi there. My Zyxel VMG1312-B10A has, after being unstable for a long time, stopped working. The Internet-light is solid red immediately after turning on while the DSL and Wireless lights are orange. The network does not show up on the the list of local networks on wireless and when using a wired connection it only says unidentified network. Among other fixes i have tried calling the service provider and following their instructions, I've reset it and I've rebooted it (unplugged cables and all) probably close to 10 times by now. I have also inspected the DSL cable and have found no break or sign of damage at all. When trying to connect to 192.168.1.1 I just get the standard no connection page with the dinosaur. Trying to find the default gateway through ipconfig results in a blank line. So what to do? [link] [comments]

Microphone Jacks "Currently Unavailable" Posted: 01 May 2019 11:43 PM PDT Here's an imgur album with a few screenshots of the sound options menu. If you need more pictures, let me know. I run a weekly DnD game, so I've used this microphone every week for about a year, and it worked fine last week. The issue is not with the microphone, because my backup mic also does not work (same brand and model). The microphone is a cheap headset that I plug into my PC's front 3.5mm audio ports. The audio output works fine, and the built-in mic for my USB webcam works fine. The PC can detect when I plug my microphone in, it has a green checkmark next to it (showing that it is the default device) but reads "Currently Unavailable" underneath. The back port doesn't work either, but I never used to use it so I don't know if it ever worked. I've recently moved, so I had to unplug everything from my PC (including the mic) and move everything (though I unplug my mic all the time to untangle wires and stuff, it just goes into the headphone jack). As far as I'm aware, the setup is still the same, but something might have gone wrong with the transition. Thanks for your help in advance. [link] [comments]
64GB microsd showing RAW 512KB only and cannot format Posted: 01 May 2019 10:13 PM PDT Hey had to repost here because I think my submission was removed from /Photography. I was recently taking some pictures and videos of my dog and the card became corrupt right in the middle of recording while still in the camera. I get prompted to format when I insert it into my PC, but it's only showing 512KB of RAW space, and won't even let me format (which I've tried through multiple tools already). It's not a knockoff card (Adata) as I've used it successfully for years and have done successful recoveries before after encountering similar issues (on different cards), but this one has me stumped. I've tried running Chkdsk /f, Disk Management, diskpart, etc., after googling the crap out of this problem, but can't seem to get past this obstacle. Any ideas? [link] [comments]

What are some Alternatives to Unetbootin for creating bootable flashdrives for windows? Posted: 01 May 2019 07:35 PM PDT For some reason i have found UNETBOOTIN more usable for linux installs than for windows. What are some alternative dummy proof tools for creating USB install thumb stick drives? Also where do you guys go for clean ISO sources for windows? I have used a search engine with some websites of questionable results I have downloaded ISOs in the past with viruses in them so I would like to know of some reputable windows install image sources [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 May 2019 04:53 PM PDT I recently bought a T450 online used, refurbished. Worked just fine so it seemed. Then I noticed it wouldn't power on. Figured okay, maybe the battery is dead. I plugged it in and it said "80% Battery Left" Thought, whatever it's just a bug somewhere only happened this one time. Nope. Now it's a constant thing. I've ran through the lists in the link underneath here, save for replacing the C-MOS Battery as I dred ripping laptops open. But nothing works. I even just freshly rebuild it after resetting the BIOS and not being able to boot. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've also tried disabling quickboot, as well as adding an acpi=off to grub but, kinda need to see my battery so I did turn that back on. I have it running Debian with GNOME. I use it mainly for python programming and just browsing the web and diving into TOR when I'm bored. [link] [comments] |
