Here's how you can crash your Google Pixel Posted: 01 May 2019 02:52 PM PDT I discovered this bug a good while ago. Reported to Google and nothing was done about it. It's not a very critical bug, but it does affect all Google Pixels on Pie (not sure about Q). Try it out on your phone and let us all know the results please. Maybe Google will notice? Edit: Corrected a typo, meant to say it's NOT a critical bug. But still... Would be nice if it was fixed. [link] [comments]

I wish we could decouple notification sounds from music over bluetooth Posted: 01 May 2019 03:59 AM PDT The way my car's head unit works is that if I'm connected via Bluetooth, even if I'm not listening to music, my phone still tries to send my notification sounds over BT when I have the media option turned on. I like to switch between Spotify and my ipod, so when I'm using the latter, I have to turn off the media BT setting in order to hear notifications on my phone. It's ridiculous that notifications are considered "media" and not a ringtone or separate category. [link] [comments]
Pixel 3a and 3aXL are on their way Posted: 01 May 2019 07:31 AM PDT So just got the order for the Pixel 3a and 3aXL on the way to our Verizon store. This is before the release even from Google! Just figured I'd keep the hype going and letting everyone know that these phones are going to available very soon, maybe sooner then we expected. I'll be happy to post again when they arrive and I'm able to get my hands on them! (P.S. they are both in 64Gb variants if that's useful news to anyone) [link] [comments]
Quick and really helpful tweak for new Tab s5e owners. Posted: 01 May 2019 10:02 AM PDT So I updated from my old Tab s2, which I'm still dad about losing the nice compact size, and stumbled out the gate with an odd Bluetooth hickup that I've now resolved, and wanted to pass along to others. Especially with the lack of 3.5mm jack (which I personally don't mind) smooth working Bluetooth is a necessity. While i had volume control via the headset controls, I realized that this by default was not taking the pause/play inputs from my headset into account which made it slightly annoying in my work environment to quickly halt playback to hear a coworker more clearly. This puzzled me as my much older s2 didn't have that issue. The fix If you access the developer options in the settings (the standard hit the build # 7 or so times thing) and scroll down about halfway through the list into the Networking section to find "Bluetooth AVRCP Version". It defaults to 1.4, which I believe doesn't have all the features of later versions, so I just bumped that to 1.6 and presto play pause works. [link] [comments]
