Breaking bug on Xiaomi Mi 9 Fingerprint sensor

I dropped my iPhone in a pond...

    Posted: 01 Apr 2019 09:02 PM PDT

I'm considering getting a Mi Mix 3 but I have a few questions.

1: How long will the Mix 3 be supported?

2: I've seen a lot about MIUI being buggy, can I get stock android? (sry I'm an Apple pleb, I do jailbreak so I'm fine messing with spooki stuff)

3: How will it work with verizon? I can get a pre-activated sim but will I really not be able to use 3g? Not a huge deal unless I can't call or text from there, idk how that works

4: I'm not used to big phones, I brought the S9+ back because it was too bulky, how easy is MIUI to use with one hand? My only problem with my XS and presumably the Tennis Max is the control center which was too high.

Any tips would be appreciated :)

5: I don't speak any Chinese, will I have any issues/annoyances using the global version?

6: Should I wait for the 5g version?

7: If I can get stock android or maybe OxygenOS what features will I be unable to use?

Will there be a Redmi Note 7 Pro Taiwan version?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2019 10:41 PM PDT

I'm having a hard time trying to find info about this.

I'm increasingly needing to find Band 28 support and regret not getting the Taiwan version of the Redmi Note 5 Pro.

    Is it coming out?

    Xiaomi or Motorola?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2019 04:39 PM PDT

I have a Moto e4 on its way out. I'm from the States. I'm on Metro by TMobile (formerly MetroPCS). I have been eyeballing the Moto One, Xiaomi Mi A2, Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite or the Moto G7 Power. I'm trying to go back to USB C but keep the headphone jack. I preferably want a big battery and the best processor I can get for the money. I'm thinking the Snapdragon 660 is going to be it. Expandable storage is a plus. Resolution I could care less about. 4gb ram is preferable also. Hope I'm not being too picky haha. I'm looking to spend $200-250 USD. I want Android One though because of the guaranteed updates and new features. If I could get all the Moto actions on top of the Android One skin that would've been cool but the Moto One doesn't have one button nav or any of the other familiar Moto features. I also listen to the radio and miss NFC.

    Redmi Note 7 QuickCharge time

    Posted: 01 Apr 2019 07:39 PM PDT

Does anyone know how long it takes for the Redmi Note 7 to fully charge with a 5v 2.4amp charger?

Wanted to clarify because it took me 2+ hours to charge, and it doesn't seem any faster compared to using the included charger.

Mi A2 lite: EU version vs International version. Is there any hardware difference regarding frequency bands?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2019 11:55 AM PDT

Hi guys, I want to buy a phone for my mum who lives in Argentina and I already had issues buying phones in EU because of the different frequency bands used there.

I saw that they sell International version and EU version in Amazon DE... but I couldn't find any source that mentions any difference between versions.

I read the wiki and there is no distinction between EU/Global/US whatsoever.

The question is: Are these "different" phones the same one? Do all of them handle the same frequency bands?

Thanks and sorry for the (probably) stupid question.

Is anyone's Mi A2 Lite dying before the before the day is over?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2019 07:23 PM PDT

My phone keeps going to single digits after 10 hours. It is regularly used nothing too intensive. In the settings it says the apps are running normally. I remember at some points I could go 2 days without charge. And maybe a day and a half with heavy use. What should I do?

Scooter m365 brakes suddenly not working

    Posted: 01 Apr 2019 07:16 PM PDT

I've had my scooter for a while now and it's out of warranty but the brakes just started to not work entirely correctly.

I was heading down a steep hill, braking slightly intermittently then I went to push them down again and they didn't lock up at all. Ended up having to jump off.

After a few more pumps well I was stationary, they engaged and started working again.

Now it seems when I hold them down for lengths at a time they just decide to stop working until I'm stationary and pump them a few times. Any ideas? Has anyone had this problem?

    Mi A2 stuck in bootloop

    Posted: 01 Apr 2019 12:33 PM PDT

Sorry guys if this has been addressed already but I can't find anything recent on this. My phone did some update last night and now is stuck in bootloop (AndroidOne) screen. Is there an official solution to this? I realize most people already experienced this back in Dec/Jan/Feb. My provider is a bit behind the times so maybe that's why I didn't receive this buggy update until now.

It's so frustrating...I just bought the phone a few months ago and was so happy with it. Now it's completely useless. I emailed Xiaomi too but no response yet.

Rather buy a Redmi note 7 (Global vers.) or a Redmi note 7 pro (CN vers.) but proceed to flash the global rom afterwards?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2019 08:43 AM PDT

What would you rather choose to do? I'm trying to know this in case I get a problem whilst trying to buying the Mi A2 in my country, just as a back up plan.

    Doubt. Pocophone vs RN7

    Posted: 01 Apr 2019 08:31 AM PDT

Hi guys! I'm looking forward to change my actual phone, a moto g5 plus, a smartphone that has been with me for 2 years. It's a good phone but last year I bought my mom a RN5 and my dad a RN6Pro and I felt in love with Xioami products, due to its ridiculous low prices and great specs. So now, after some days of googling, I'm having 2 phones to consider, the pocophone f1 and the RN7. I'm from Colombia by the way, and the poco's price nowadays here is just 30 USD more than the RN7, so the price is'nt a deal for me. The only thing I kinda prefer the Redmi is its glass design, I'm afraid the Poco feels so "plastic" in hand but so, that's why I'm asking here today guys. Which phone should I get?

    Mi 8 lite 6GB RAM or RN7 4GB RAM?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2019 10:47 AM PDT

Both are in my budget, but I'm not really sure wich one to choose, will those 2GB make a big difference? I want it to last for some good time, I've had my now phone since 2014.

    Thanks

I'm more tempted to go for the RN7 for it's 4000mAh battery tho

Redmi note 6 random fullscreen ads

    Posted: 01 Apr 2019 01:32 PM PDT

Just today I started getting random full screen ads on my phone. There is not particular app this happens on. It happened in the Google app, Reddit, chrome, etc. I have ads disabled on every miui app that has them. Is this mi advertising to me? I just got one while typing this so I'm very annoyed. I tried a security scan before, but it said everything was alright. I haven't installed anything sketchy or done anything risky to my knowledge recently. Thanks in advance

    Questions concerning Poco F1

    Posted: 01 Apr 2019 12:39 PM PDT

    Hey all !

So Xiaomi is soon having an event in the UK with nice discounts such as the Poco F1 starting at 249 and the Mi 8 at 299. I'm really interested in Xiaomi because most of their phone have dual sims options and large internal storage. I currently have the Huawei P8 lite 2017 but its 16GB storage has proven to be too little.

I was wondering if there is such thing as the app twin function on the F1, and it was possible to use even though I plan on using another launcher ? Also, how does the camera do in both F1 or Mi 8? Lastly, I never had a Xiaomi phone and was wondering how the build quality is? Have you ever had your phone 'slow down' after 6 months - 1 year usage ?

    Thank!
